Apart from putting the washing machine on this morning I have done nothing in the house.
Took DD (12) out to Leeds - had a chinese buffet lunch - went shopping in Primark and then we both went to see "Casino Royale".
DD not very impressed but I really enjoyed the film - had not expected to like the film that much but pleasantly surprised!
Got home at nearly 7p.m. and made a quick snack and have popped on here to say "Hello".
House is a tip as vacuum broke down yesterday - kept insisiting the bag was full - would have had more suction if I had licked the carpet!!!!lol
Get the machine picked up on Monday and back on Wednesday - fingers crossed.
Have ordered a few Christmas pressies on line and waiting impatiently for them to turn up now.
Hugs to everybody."This site is addictive!"

and :grouphug: to all the poorly ones. hope you all feel better really really soon!!
we had a rather nice day too.
we had blue sky and sunshine (but quite cold) and went out as a family into town for a walk. i even managed to drop 2 big bags with clothes at the charity shop :T (2 more to come)
dd did lots of walking and ds was running around like mad as usual
he's not too well really; bad cold and a cough that won't stop
luckily it doesn't disturb his sleep [phewww] - so far ....
we are just waiting for the 'strictly come dancing' results then i'll be off to bed
i am just soooo tired lately
did my evening routine already :d (bin and recycling is out, d/w is ready to go on, surfaces are wiped, toys are put away) - was a bit struggle though because all i wanted was to slump down on the sofa and never get up again!!
enjoy your evenings whatever you doI have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work0 -
Congratulations Rdchap on the birth of your gorgeous little daughter. A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be a wonderful friend.
Although Taplady I was not impressed with my DD after two years of uni to be a primary teacher she decided teaching wasn't for her. It all works out in the wash though and she's happy at what she does now.
Crazy How awful for you. Don't feel bad about falling to pieces, I'm sure if the other lady wasn't there you would have been able to step up and do it. A nice bunch of flowers always goes down nice.
Danni (((((hugs))))) hope you recover quickly, the same with PP hubby & anyone else feeling under the weather.
Well I better get going.DH still asleep so thought I"d surf while having my cuppa. Hope you get a good night's sleep, I did.
Kyle How old is Lo? Is that short for something. I keep thinking Lorenzo. DGS is a pain in the neck with waking up during the night too. My three :A:D never did that. :rotfl:It's nice to have selective memories.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Hi, Aussie, hope Kyle won't mind me butting in, but her light's off! Sorry Kyle, but Aussie won't rest until she knows!
LO = little one! But I'll always think of Kyle's LO as Lorenzo from now on.

Absolutely brilliant DH has mended my dishwasher. Has taken it all apart, freed up the pump and has put it back together, cleaning all the bits as he goes...looks like new. Now just need some dirty dishes to wash!!!!We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.0

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 19th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Congratulations Rchddap!! Lily is lovely - you and michelle have got me all broody!
Well, im still awake so I thought id start the thread for the day. I will go to bed shortly, and force myself to get up at a reasonable hour as I have a lot I want to do. The flat needs a general clean up and hoover as ive covered the floor of the entire flat in bits of thread and fabric from the days sewing! Its coming along nicely though and OH says they look like I bought them from a shop! Woohoo! The cat seems to like them too, she is currently curled up on a pile of cushions and looks very comfortable indeed. The machine was an ebay purchase for £46 inc delivery and it didnt even look used so im glad im finally getting to use it and its giving me a bit of confidence to plan my next sewing task.
I also intend to make something nice for dinner, ive got some pork mince in the freezer that I bought a while ago and want to use it up, but I havent decided in what yet so a trawl of online recipe's will be on the cards. Two loads of laundry done too so some ironing to do - probably in front of something on the tv that requires little concentration.
Anyway, ive not much else to say as its been a fairly quiet day all round - so have a lovely day all!

:hello: Gooooooood Morning Jo and all who follow
Well done Jo with your sewing :T :T :T Your machine was a real bargain!!!
Awww, Lily is sooooooo adorable!
Early start here, not planned, but I'll make the best of it nonethelessAll those cheap veggies and stock from cooking the pot roast beef on Friday, made up a goodly quantity of soup and stock yesterday and I've frozen the lot, so it's time for some sweeter stuff for packing in the freezer. As I'm up early there's no excuse not to get on. Still have weetabix and all bran in the cupboard which need using up so they'll form the basis of todays cake making.
Picked up some bits in Debenham's while I was out and about yesterday and even got some free goodie bags ( yay for me :j ) plus money off vouchers. It's really funny because earlier in the week I was in a "pick a card, any card" type situation and the one I picked said something to the effect of "money comes easily to you" Seems that, in a sense, it was quite right - I do remember to count my blessings:think: maybe it's time I bought a lottery ticket again - one of my older sons once won £5k on a scratchcard
My poor friend didn't have much fun celebrating her birthday yesterday, she's got a stinker of a cold with a jippy tum too, so my visit was short and sweet. She was thrilled with her gift bag though and it did bring a smile to her face
Ironing today so I can clear the basket from the 3 washloads I did. Really can't bear to have it laying around; besides, need to change the beds and get the bedding done today.
Time for another cuppa - wild nettle  Danni, sorry to read about your BP and wish you a speedy recovery!! Get well wishes to all who are unwell. ((hugs)) for those who need/want them. Have a lovely moneysaving old style Sunday :wave

Good morning all xx
Got quite a good none rushing around day planned today
ds1 doesnt ko at footy until 1pm( horray no early start)
Chicken dinner at tea time
Plan on spending some time on pc sorting out photos and printer, need to finish off some xmas pressies and need photos printing off.
Make a final list of what we need for xmas, step-son came yesterday and we have been asking him for weeks what he wants and finally came up with 2 things (he has everything so it is so hard to buy for him) One of which is out of stock everywhere!!! Asked him if there was anything else he has seen that he would like and he just said no, he like to make my life hard im sure of it!!!
It is also hard with him as he doesnt belive in santa anymore and our kids do, so answering the question `how come `step-son` knows what he is having for xmas` is very hard!!
Anyway moan over, have a great day all.
Donna
