rchddap, thanks for the photo, she's gorgeous!!
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
  • Gorgeous picture, rchdapp. Hang in there, Michelle. The constant sucking WILL bring in your milk thicker and faster after a few days. I know it's not easy. I remember it well!

Had another productive day. Took a car full of recycling away, sorted out dozens of books to sell, organised some things to go on e-bay and managed to go out for a meal with DH. Totally exhausted but in a really good way. I feel I may be turning a corner.

DH is going to help me write out a recipe for the croissants I promised to tell you about the other day. Not been in the frame of mind to think about food till now.

    Have a good evening everyone.

Michelle, didn't notice your avatar. Another gorgeous picture. Making me all broody. Good job I've got a bun in the oven!

Ohhh that's one totally gorgeous baby you've got there! Very broody now!

Had a very productive day doing "bits" - house looks tidier for it too. Washed all the plaster and pva off my new windows in my new room - gave it a damn good clean (yes I know it's the builders job to clear it but I thought I'd give them a head start so they can crack on with decorating). Car's been cleaned and a bit of shopping's been done.

Kids have just had shop bought pizza and oven chips for tea - it's what they fancied --- verdict......HM next time please :T They know they prefer HM but sometimes they need reminding.

I bought some chicken livers today reduced, saw a reciepe for chicken liver pate somewhere this week, can't remember where tho, just had a google around and they all seem to need brandy (which I don't have) Do you think a bit of red wine would work instead?????? Want to try a few different things out before christmas so I can perfect them.

Anyway - I'm off for a game of cards with DD's and a glass of something cold and white, have a good evening all.

    Rchddap, she's beautiful!

Michelle - Gingham Ribbon is right!

Penny=Pincher - so glad to hear Comet are coming on Monday! I should jolly well think so too. But your poor OH! If he's got a temperature, that can cause bad dreams. Wishing him well. ((((HUGS))))

Ageandjo - so glad to hear you've got your move after all! Sorry to hear your DH isn't well though. Best wishes and ((((HUGS))))

Topher - I was taking Ferrous Sulphate Tablets a couple of years ago and I remember what a nuisance it was, trying to take them at the "right" time! They caused digestive probs though, so i asked the pharmacist if there was another type I could take. He recommended a capsule which also had Vitamin C in it because it helps your body absorb the iron, so i was surprised that you've got to avoid it - or is it that the iron tabs have Vit C in so you mustn't take any extra?

Churchmouse - :hello: I hope that baby turns up soon!

Apologies to those I haven't mentioned personally - I do keep you in mind though!:A

Baby DGS has got his first cold, poor little snuffly thing!
His Mum goes back to work part-time at the end of Feb and had applied to a hospital nursery (she's a Community Paediatric nurse so it's a bit cheaper), but when she rang them recently to ask when she should pay her deposit and arrange some "settling-in sessions" it turned out they had lost the application form she handed in personally in March and so she was never put on the waiting list! She didn't think to ask for a receipt for the form, so has no proof she ever applied and there won't be a place for DGS at the end of Feb. She's found another nursery which seems excellent, but was astonished to find that they charge for Bank Holidays even though they are closed on those days. Wondering whether this was a common practice, I posted a thread on the "Families" board which has sparked a lively debate!:D Seems as if it is fairly common.

I was planning to mend DS's jeans pocket in a minute before the hole in it gets so big that his keys fall through - but one of the cats has settled to sleep on the table beside me and i haven't the heart to move him at his time of life. Oh well, DS learned to use a sewing machine when he was at school so I'm sure he can mend them himself!:D

Hope everyone has a good evening.

    Best wishes

I am not having a good day- spent most of it in the hospital where the out of hours doctor is, to discover I have Bell's palsy and it should hopefully get better within 3 weeks or so. Since I can't close my left eye and keep dribbling from the left corner of my mouth it can't come soon enough. Have been prescribed steroids though to try and speed it up.

Other than that I've been to the MetroCentre to get my prescription done, and now I want to go to bed. Need to eat first though, and trying to find foods that are easy to eat when half your mouth doesn't work isn't easy :p

Poor you Danni... but at least you know what the problem is and that it will get better. ((((hug))))

Had to go shopping despite small person being even more grim and grumpy than yesterday. Tesco on a normal day is bad but on a Sat afternoon it was hell. Cant wait till next year when I have my veg patch up and running so can limit the time shopping. Just need to persuade OH that we really could keep some chickens and a goat in the back garden and put a beehive on the garage roof!:D
