Hello everyone.
What a lively thread this morning. Can't believe some have already got snow!
Penny-pincher - that breakfast sounds wonderful. If my knees weren't caving in with the weight, I'd give it a go, too.
Well off to nearby town as DH, DS1 & DS2 are all off to get their hair cut this morning, so this will give me a bit of time to toddle round the market on my own. Bliss!
Got a lovely roast chicken dinner planned for later with lovely veg from the farmers market, and then off to visit friends tonight for the evening. Oww free heating.
OS wise am going to make a batch of shepherds pie and bolognaise sauce for the freezer whilst watching dvd's this afternoon. Also going to multi-task and finish knitting my hotwater bottle cover so I dont burn my bits on a night anymore.
Have a fun weekend all!AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Morning all!
Snowy, how appropriate for you to have Snow! My sister's in-laws live in Belfast, and she was there 2 Christmas days ago and they had loads of snow. Cant't tell you how jealous we were. We hardly ever get snow on the milder east of the country.
Pink, chin up hun!
Topher, great to see you again. Did you enjoy your "day off"? Bet you still had plenty to do.
DH has taken DS to swim club, then DS has footie training, so DH and I are clearing more from the loft to chuck/Freecycle.
DD is on a guide holiday. I took her and her friends yesterday, and the building they're sleeping in was frrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeezing. It was a pleasure to get back in the car. Luckily she has a really good sleeping bag, but she's very slim, so does feel the cold. The Guider in charge is brilliant and has laods of ideas, so they'll have a fun-packed weekend.
I'm cleaning out my fridge, making "fridge bottom soup" for lunch, with a seedy loaf that's currently in the BM. Need to tackle the ironing pile, so will do that now, with a video and coffee.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning All
Forgot to press the thanks as I went this morning so Hello and thanks to the previous posters.
Still feeling rather low this morning, but DD seems on much better form at the moment. I'm going to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang this afternoon in Liverpool with my MIL and SIL. Normally I would be thrilled but at the moment I just want to sleep. I discovered this morning that my normal cup of tea now tastes of tin so I will have to think of an alternative.
OS wise it the normal washing plus I need to make some dough in aminute for pizza for tea.
Have a good day everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
morning :hello:
i wish i could say i had a lie in
ds came into my bed at 5.40 [yaaaaawn]
i manged to keep him 'quiet' for another 10 min but that was us!!
all washed and dressed, bed is made, s/s bathroom
d/w un-reloaded
yesterday evening i kicked my own bumm
because i just knew if i hadn't done it then i'd be really mad with myself in the morning to come down to a dirty kitchen!
so i un-reloaded d/w, wiped all surfaces, cleaned all appliances, sweeped floor and voila
i was a very happy bunny in the morning
no plans for today. we've got blue sky and sun shining - don't know how cold it is just yet ....
i might convience oh to go to reading for a snoop around
PP i hope your OH is better soon! :grouphug: to both of you
Amie :j to your dd! well done!!
and i am not envying any of your with kids/oh with outdoor activities today - unless of course you can stay home and have the house all to yourselvesI have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work0 -
Morning all :hello:
I intended to stay in bed until I had caught up on all the sleep I seem to have needed this week. Typical isn't it? I woke up at 7.20 and couldn't get back to sleep.
Wish we had snow here, Snowy. I miss snow. I grew up in Scotland and can remember losing three or four days of school some years because the village was snowed in and the buses couldn't get through! DS and DD love it when we go up in winter as its the only real snow they get to play in.
Reading the posts about musicals reminded me of something from yesterday. My boss's DD (age 18) was going to see the Phantom of the Opera with a group of friends last night in Manchester. Tickets were only £8. What she didn't know (until her Mum and I told her) was that the tickets were to watch the 1925 silent movie (with Lon Chaney) and have "an improvised organ accompaniment" by a renowned organ player. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Don't know of any 18yos who would even have heard of Lon Chaney.
Anyway, plans this weekend are to catch up on sleep (may need to have a nap later to achieve this), do some batch cooking, some cleaning and buy some wine for tonight. Think I may take DD and DS to Christmas market in Manchester so need to do some research on that.
Good luck to everyone who has parties, football matches or haircuts today.Have a great day.

Morning peeps!!
Havent posted for a while I have been busy packing:T :T :T
Hopefully should move next Saturday all being well:j i am living out of boxes and it's a nightmare as we have no where to put them so they are stacked in the front room hallway and bedroom:rolleyes: As much as the HA tried to be awkward about us moving and tried to say allsorts to basically upset us, (nasty people)
OS has gone out the window for now but I promise I will be back on track as soon as I have moved in:D
As you can see I am quite excited:j but OH is not too well and he refuses to go to his GP for whats bothering him and really bothering me too but I don't know what else I can do....quite worried TBH:o
I hope everyone is happy and well
Take care0 -
Good Morning all
Don't know what the weather's like here as I've not got out of bed to open the curtains yet!!
Plans for today, I have a white wash to do, clothes on the airer that should be dry so need putting away, and a few(!!) bits and pieces to iron. Also need to do some reading for uni - just a few poems - and then I have to start work at 2.30 - will finish at just gone 7, but off to my parents for the night tonight then staying all day tomorrow, coming back in time to watch the Ice Hockey tomorrow evening
OH has gone to pick up a parcel from the PO depot... They really make me  as we were in all day yesterday (the postie hadn't been when we got back from the hospital) yet he didn't even ring the bell to see if we were in, and instead just left a card saying that the parcel was too big for the letterbox
Oooh OH has just got back and I can hear him boiling the kettle and throwing pans about... I hope he's spotted the bacon in the fridge and is going to bring me a cuppa and a bacon sarnie in bed :T
Anyway, good luck to all the footballers and rugby players today!! And best wishes to those who are putting on parties... not that you'll need luck of course
