We watched I'm a celebrity too, I was crying with laughter!

Dh's last day at work today, it feels a real relief. He has some interviews lined up for next week, one of which is a perfect fit so fingers crossed.

Day of mixed emotions today, a really lovely lady I have got to know over the last year is getting married so we are off to a big party tonight, but my Grandad has been taken to hospital and we are kind of expecting the worst, was only told last night so a little bit of a shock although not completely unexpected. Parents were going to babysit but can't now, so the children will be coming along with us.

Need to pop to the shops and get dd something to wear, the only dresses she has are fancy dress wear and I have some Boots points so will get something there. Have Ebay parcels to post and then hopefully get a chance for a nice soak in the bath as dd will have to go down for a nap. Dinner is taken care of.

Have a good day everyone and hugs to those who need them.

    Morning all

VickyA I'm really glad you got something sorted out.

I missed celebrity last night. It was on at the same time as Hugh. Why did they have to change celeb to 8:00? To annoy people?

kids off - I'm going into w### later today - gonna get the living room sorted before I go. DW already going. WM and BM to go on.

Got the Bill Granger every day book last night - looks v v good. Things the kids should like (no telling with my two though - their likes and dislikes are extremely unpredictable)

Take care all and have a fruitful friday.

  • Morning all!

I've woken up with a headache. I'm off to the high school to give presentations to year 10 (14 and 15yo) about my life at CAB and money advice in general. I've not done much of this before, so I'm a bit nervous.

DH has taken DS off to see if he can get a doc's appointment. DS has been complaining for several weeks about being generally unwell, and he's now found a lump, so DH is off to plead for an appointment. DS was in floods last night, mixture of anxiety and feeling unwell.

As I mentioned yesterday, had the local TV round yesterday, with a family who are investigating how we deal with waste. It was fun! They were filming in my kitchen, so it was especially tidy. Two effects: DS says he likes the kitchen tidy; we can't find the things I've tidied away. Now where did I put the toaster............

Have a great day, I'll pop back later.

  • Morning all :hello: and Happy Birthday to Miss Crazychik

On the pc early today to try and win some of the Pigsback comps. It seems they award some prizes around lunchtime and I don't normally complete them till mid-afternoon so I have no chance normally.

Glad its Friday. Washing is up to date but the beds will need to be stripped and changed this weekend so the washing basket will be full all too soon.

Planning on having a couple of spend-free days this weekend as I don't get paid til next week and I really don't want to go into my overdraft.

    Have a great day everybody.

    Morning people :)

I've definitely got a cold, as I'm all bunged up, nose and eyes streaming and sneezing this morning. Most of housework will be done this evening, as DD goes to nanna's for the night (she does this every Friday so she's used to going there in case one of us ends up in hospital again). I have a good blitz on a Friday evening/Saturday morning :)

Plans for this morning- wake up (daughter darted into bed at quarter to eight, and kicked me in the back- ow!), get dressed, get onto Amazon for the large order that I'm placing (some mine, some mother-in-laws). I've got a website I need to get up and running so will work on that for a bit, then do some college work. I'll get DD's breakfast in a minute (all other meals are OH's responsibility- much safer that way). She's just finished watching Fifi and is now watching Peppa Pig, so it's her two favourite shows one after the other :)

I hope everyone is doing ok today :)

    Good morning everyone! :hello:

Mr Pink, daughter and elder son have been sent on their merry way and I am having a few moments to myself while the youngest gets dressed, very very very, slowly. The time he takes to get dressed is driving me bananas, which is one of the reasons I’ve taken to posting here in the mornings in an effort to distract myself and stop me from nagging him to death. :o

Yesterday was a busy day; hopefully today will be a little quieter. Nothing exciting planned just a general tidy up and vacuum before the weekend.

I have to take ds2 back to the hairdressers this afternoon. I couldn’t get an appointment with our regular hairdresser last week and his fringe was so long, he could barely see out….so I took him to one of those (expensive) no appointment places because it was urgent. The very young girl who did it, couldn’t cut hair for toffee! She took over an hour to do a dry trim and made a complete mess of it! No two hairs are the same length and his fringe is totally squint. :(

It looks like I attacked him with a pair of nail scissors! I told her at the time that I wasn’t happy (it must have been bad, because I hate complaining), but then she added insult to injury by saying that it was an old fashioned haircut and hairdressers these days aren’t trained to do them. What she said has bothered me a little bit…bearing in mind that he is only six, is his haircut old fashioned? Ds2. Anyway, to cut a long story short (unintentional pun) I rang them and the manageress has said that she will fix it today….here’s hoping!

Vicky, I’m glad you’ve made a decision about the job…travelling sounds like a great idea.
Catowen, I forgot the tooth fairy once. It’s a horrible feeling.
Penelope Penguin, I hope your head feels better soon.

Got to run…. My little darling has now proudly presented himself to me, fully dressed. Apart from a badly buttoned shirt, a missing shoe and toothpaste down the front of his jumper he looks just fine.

Have a great Friday everyone! :)

Feeling abit icky this morning, but I've got loads to do.

Plan for the day is more washing. I need to use up some veg so I put some soup mix onto soak last night and will make that shortly. Apart from that it general cleaning and tidying. I'm hoping to avoid the supermarket completely apart from milk this week so I need to plan an inventive meal plan at some point.

This afternoon its off to toddler group for my weekly fix, they've painted the church hall so I'm hoping the fumes arent going to be to much.

Best crack on with the toast making DD will think I staving her
    Have a good day everyone

Pink-winged, rarely post now, but needed to say no his hair is not old fashioned for a six year old. looks very nice - just silly girls excuse for being useless. Cutting straight is cutting straight regardless of style.

  • Hi, Pink! I think he looks lovely! I'd be very proud if he were mine. In fact, he is almost as handsome as my DS :D
