I bought that one too for dd! She insisted on choosing gold decorations for it so I have decided we are going to call it Barbara (Cartland!)

Well today didnt turn out good at all.
DD hospital appointment was OK but waited 2 hours to get seen. Also the other children waiting for appointments were nightmates so 2 hours seemed twice as long. Had to get some lunch staight away in the hospital restaurant (luckily is quite reasonable) but by the time I got home felt really rubbish so thought would have a little lie down then suddently 1.5 hours had gone nowhere. When I wake up from a long daytime sleep I feel awful for about another hour! So OH got a takeway and Im now in here. Thought would have a little look at the thread for some motivation as have done nothing today

Now feeling a little better so will do my college homework, need to organize the coursework and put in a folder. Hopefully will be able to finish this in a reasonable amount of time so at least will feel have acomplished something today.!

It's turned into a bad news day :(

Mum says Grandma is "going downhill" :(

We think one of the cats might have to be put down :( For the benefit of those on here who don't really know me, my housemate has been "adopted" by three cats who actually live across the street; they are a bit neglected over there, and spend a lot of time over here, though there's no bad feelings between us and their real owners. Anyway my favourite of the three has rotten teeth and a mouth infection which is likely to be a tumour - housemate took him to the vet this morning and will find out tomorrow whether or not it's something that can be cured by antibiotics and some tooth extractions. Anyway, housemate is really upset and so are the cat's real owners.

On top of that, my removal man phoned to say he wasn't feeling well and could he come round tomorrow instead for a quote? He says if he still isn't well he will send his son (his fellow removal man) so won't let me down two nights in a row.

    Tomorrow is another day...

    Rzl xx

Hi BargainRzl - sorry to hear that your day has gone downhill so dramatically. That is dreadful about your grandmother, your own mother must be very upset.

Regards the cat - aw the poor little thing. You never know, it may just be v.inflammed gums from his teeth rather than a tumour. Rotten teeth are v.common in cats because of wet/tinned cat food. My Tabitha had her teeth done three times in her life, ending up with only four back ones - but she lived perfectly long, well and happy in her toothless state. Fingers crossed that the vet can do something to make the poor kitty a lot more comfortable.

Don't worry about your removal man...sounds like he's not going to miss the opportunity to make some money...I feel it in my water that the son will be round to give you a quote tomorrow. Don't stress too much about it....there are loads of alternatives if he lets you down.

My day - went to w***....came home...sat on my bum....about to go to bed...that sums it up really, lol.

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 14th Nov 06. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

May Tuesday be a successful day for you!:D

    Hello everybody,

Just eating my lunch atm. Yesterday was very busy as we had to pick up another load of gear. The plumber came yesterday and dug up the yard to lay pipes & the septic & the council arrived to put on the water. So we were faced with one great big mess when we got home. Progress it's called. YS is arriving tonight so we need to knock off early and get him from the airport. I wonder if he realises he's having a *working* holiday. :D Unlce Bills' funeral is on Friday but I don't think we'll be able to make it.

Well finished lunch and going to have some icecream & fruit now. Have a great Tuesday and ((((((hugs))))) to those who are in need of one. Byeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning everyone

It's the same old same old chez SnowyOwl today....just gotta get my bott in gear and make myself a packed lunch for w***. I have no bread in so it'll be something like a tuna/pasta salad. I use the term "salad" loosely as I don't think I have lettuce, tomato or other salad ingredients in either. lol!!

Today's shift is 10.00 am until 7.00 pm - which is quite long really, stretching a bit too far into the evening. Not that I mind really, though it does mean I don't get too much done after w***. I have to fit in returning some library books as well - the library shuts at 8.00 pm, so I will avoid fines.

Like PigPen I've got to talk myself into vacuuming the stairs - they are (still!!) uncarpeted and are terribly dusty at the moment. On the subject of carpet, that little project is slightly on the back-burner for the time-being, mostly because of lack of time to get it sorted. It'll be another headache arranging to be in for the fitting....and as for moving the furniture out of my bedrooms.....I go  at the thought of it...

I hope all is as well as can be with everyone.
