  • Hello all, :hello:

(((hugs))) to all who need them and those who just want one.

Haven't posted at all this weekend. Have had three bad nights' sleep and it is really catching up with me now - I have never been able to function without lots of sleep. Didn't have an OS or MSE weekend either. :o Seemed to spend the whole weekend shopping. Now I know it's true cos I just checked my bank statement online.

Still, I now have two fabulous HM hampers for my nieces' birthdays. They look so good DD asked if I would make her one and they cost less than a tenner each. Would post a pic but I don't have a digital camera (yet) and am totally hopeless with technology. :o

Will be glad when November is over. I just seem to have one appointment after another at the moment. Don't know whether I am coming or going.

At least my lack of money means that I will have to be very OS and MSE for the next week. I feel a store cupboard challenge coming on. :D

Hope Monday, 13th hasn't been too bad to all of you.

    Annie x

Hi ! seem to have spent most of the day in the kitchen today:rolleyes: made lots of beef and mushroom pies, tuna fishcakes, apple turnovers and some nibbles with leftover pastry.

Feeling a bit down in the dumps today, my best friend of 13 years is moving away in a couple of weeks and as it gets nearer I feel sad, I'll really miss her:(

PP sorry you're not too well and hope you get your chair sorted!

Got leftover chicken and roasted veggies for tea.

Have a good evening and more hugs to those in need xx

    vivw,

some are initials of actual people who've posted on the thread.. others are common useage, to describe people e.g. OH = other half, DH = dear (or other "d" word) husband, DS = dear son, DD = dear daughter, DGS = dear grandson (you get the idea)...

others still are items used in the kitchen a lot. e.g. DW = dish washer, WM = washing machine, BM = breadmaker, SC = slow cooker.

if you have any others that you get stuck with, shout up - someone'll answer!

    Hi vivw,

Welcome to MSE and in particular to Old Style.:)

You can find out what the abbreviations mean if you look at sra's Unofficial A-Z under abbreviations

Edit: sorry Kethry, cross posted with you.

I woke up this morning in a positive mood, new week and all that…

Got the children to school with relative harmony and came home and did the usual morning tidy up and when I felt I’d earned it I sat down at the pc to have a read. I’d only just logged in to mse when we had a power cut! Unfortunately the breadmaker was on so I had to scrape the gooey mess out of it and bin it…what a waste! :(

Trying to look on the bright side I thought I’d start on the kitchen cupboards as my usual avoidance techniques (pc, phone, cooking etc) weren’t possible without electricity. At least I achieved something today! I had the sense to turn the pc off in case of an electricity surge but it never occurred to me to turn the router off. I think it must have blown because it won’t give me internet access and can’t find my IP address.

So I spent hours this afternoon fiddling with and swearing at the wires behind the pc. Eventually I pulled the stupid router out of the wall and put my original modem back in. Thankfully it worked, but I have wasted half the day and I’m in stinking form. :o God help the kids this evening if they complain that they can’t use the laptop! ;)

Thanks so much everybody for all your suggestions for getting the pill into Tilly. :T

Catznine, I loved the link. :rotfl:
Michelle, sorry I haven’t had a chance to reply to your pm yet. Having read your post here you sound like superwoman, when mine were that little I couldn’t sort my own house out never mind someone elses.
Chipps, that’s dreadful about your grandma’s poor hand.

Off to reheat leftover lamb for tea before heading out to work……hopefully that will take my mind off the bleeping router!

Have a good evening everybody! :)

    Hiya all

Ds1 off school today, still bothered with his tummy pain, dr thinks it is constipation and she said if it was still sore, to go back and get a laxative to clear him out! so he is up tomorrow as his bloods are getting affected! he has had lows 1.4, 1.7 etc so not good:eek:

Ds2 was at dr last week as he has been coughing a lot and being wheezy, he has been like this since he was 1! gets very wheezy when he gets a cold, so dr has given him a peak flow meter to check his lung capacity, should be 200 for him but it is staying at 140-150, lowest 130, has to go back in 2 weeks, dr thinks it could be asthma:eek:

Sure start nurse up tomorrow, hopefully! was up today, but went to the wrong house:rotfl:

Os today, made a list of all that needs doing, as i want the house spotless before xmas stuff goes up! and dh bought me a 3f pink xmas tree from tesco!:rotfl: i love it, have got it up on my hall table:D

Want to do christmas pud too, will have to find a recipe though:rolleyes:

    Hugs to all
    Kyle
