    Hey all,

I've had a nice day today despite being poorly. I am actually feeling better than I have been so it's all good :). I should be back at work tomorrow.

It's been a very low spend day. I've only bought some milk, which I didn't technically need until tomorrow but I wanted to go for a walk.
I'm going out tonight so may need to buy some tea, possibly a subway salad so only £2ish.

I got my tesco clubcard vouchers. £4 worth which I always sell to my dad and he normally gives me a little more than they're worth. I know that you can get restuarant vouchers for them but at the moment i'd prefer the money. Hopefully £5 in my pocket!

I got a new job!! I got a call today from my boss and they've offered me a new job. Not a step up, just a step sideways but it's a totally different route and it will get me out of management which is definately not for me. Also it will definately help the stress levels which have been a huge problem in the past. I have a meeting about it next week so I just hope it is as good as it sounds :D.

I also got a question on one of my ebay items but they want me to send the item overseas which I don't do as it's so expensive. No other watchers/bidders as of yet but another 24 hours+ to go.

Quite an eventful day given that i've only been out for a walk.
Hope everyone else has had a good day, Cup_Cake xx

  • Well done on the job and fingers crossed for ebay

  • So i'm back, I spent more than I had planned. Here's what I spent:

£2 on 2 sets of false nails, they were in the offer and look lurvely on :D.
£1 on a savings jar. It counts pound coins as you put them in (didn't need but might encourage me to save more because I enjoy watching it go up (im a child on the inside)).
    £3 on a Subway salad.
79p on a birthday card for my nana.

Not too bad all in all but more than I would have liked to have spent.
Anyway bed time for me, im back to work tomorrow and im exhausted.

    Morning all, it's Friiiiiiday!

I was up at 5am this morning . I thought I was getting the 6:23 bus but it turns out I was getting the 6:43 bus so there I twoddled 20 minutes early. My cold must have made me lose my head a little. Still it gives me a chance to catch up on my diary.
Normal service will now resume with diary.

    Mood today: Sleeeeepy!
6 hours sleep does nothing for a girl!

    Spends as is:
    £12 - Spends (bus fare)
    £1 - Groceries
    5 days until payday
Ended up buying my bits and bats from my groceries budget but it doesnt really matter as until payday i'm just robbing peter to pay paul.

    To do today:
    - Work for 3 hours.
    - Have a nap.
    - Sweep living room floor.
    - Laze around for DB to get home around 8pm.
Easy peasy! I still feel a little weak so it's probably a good thing.

My diet officially starts again today. Wish me luck everyone, Cup_Cake xx

  • Hi all,

I've had a rubbish couple of days which is why I haven't posted for a little while. I wanted to make sure I was starting to feel better before posting so that I didn't make the diary depressing. I'll just have to try not to babble too much now!

So i've been a little naughty money wise over the past few days. I've spent around £35 on groceries, £10 on a meal out with DB and i've also spent the majority of my change pots (in sig) as I went out last night and needed to take some change with me.
So how have I managed to spend £35? I made DB a meal on Friday night and bought him some food to take away with him. Of course I got a call today telling me he'd forgotten to take the food with him .
The meal was me, DB and my mum. It was gorgeous and well worth the money.
Last night I went to a gig where DB was singing which was fab!!

DB is away this week so I won't be spending much on food or anything at all really. I get paid on Wednesday which can't come soon enough.
I won't be able to pay off any debts until DB gets paid which should be a week on Friday (fingers crossed).

I have sold 2 things on Ebay totalling £16 which is making its way into my bank account as we speak. I must post the items tomorrow.
Travelodge still haven't refunded my money so i'll ring them tomorrow about that.

I had tea at my dads house tonight and he's invited me tomorrow night as well so nice and MSE.

I'll do a proper money update on payday on Wednesday.
Not much else to report really, hope everyone else is well!

  • Sorry to hear you had a bad couple of days. At least now you can cut costs whilst on your own and just think being MSE meant you had change to use from the pot rather than just add to the OD. My payday is Friday and it cant come quick enough. It not been a great month for me either.

Thanks KP, I've come to the conclusion that no month is a good month money wise. Did I read that you had booked a holiday to Butlins?

I'm feeling better than I did today. It was horrible sleeping in our bed alone last night but needs a must and all that! I've notices though that I'm a grumpy cup cake when I'm home alone :(.

So money wise today. I posted my 2 sold Ebay items and made a lovely 11.50 profit which can go towards the debts when it arrives in my bank account.

Travelodge informed me today that the room I had to cancel will not be refunded as I bought a non refundable room, not to my knowledge though and the cancellation insurance only covers emergencies. I just hope DB can get the money back from his employers as they're the reason he's had to cancel.

Not much else to report today really. I'm going out for tea tonight with my dad and brother to the carvery so it shouldn't cost too much. Besides it was either that or stop at home alone feeling sorry for myself.

    Hope everyones well,

  • Good to hear you are feeling better. DB should add the hotel cost on to his expenses as it wasnt his fault.

Yep Butlins in late Aug/Early Sept. Shouldnt really buit its fun and the kids love it. I want them to enjoy life so the odd holiday is worth it. I do try to be as MSE as possible when booking.

Hi KP, i've spoken to DB and he is going to bill the money to his employer so we won't be out of pocket which is great.
I don't blame you one bit for booking a holiday. I know money saving is important but so is enjoying life, you only live once after all!

I get paid tomorrow and my money is literally all over the place. I will sit down tomorrow and work out everything.
I ended up paying for the dinner on my credit card and my brother gave me cash and my dad is paying me tomorrow, I must remember to remind him.
Anyway ill post tomorrow with money situations!

    Evening MSE'ers,

My quote of the day today definately has to be:
Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...
It's about learning how to dance in the rain.
I love this quote and I think it's so appropriate whilst in debt.
Sometimes you need to do things on a budget and sometimes you need to say no and not do things at all but keep a smile on your face, you only live once!!

So it's been a couple of days since ive posted (again), naughty naughty. I haven't been an overly spendy cup cake but the debt has crept up a little. The good news is that i've been paid though and it couldn't have come quick enough.

    Mood today: :D
DB is finally home tonight, he's been missed very muchly! Our house is definately a 2 people house, that probably sounds silly but I just mean I could never live here by myself.

    So spends as is:
    £32 - Spends
    £45 - Groceries
    26 days until payday
£300 left until payday (3 weeks)

Money is coming out on Wednesdays this month. So groceries are looking really healthy so far, spends not so much as I have a meal tomorrow night for my dads birthday which I know will cost £40 . I can't not go though so i'll have to take the blow, not sure where the money will come from yet but I will sort this out when I find out exactly how much it costs.
I also need to update my signature as I used some money from my sig at the end of last month but I haven't plucked up the courage to count my change yet, That'll be a definate job for tomorrow.

    So plans for tomorrow:
    - Have a lie in.
    - 3 loads of washing.
    - Sweep living room and bathroom
    - Go for meal.
Nice easy day but im guessing DB will want to spend most of the day in bed as he's been working 14 hour days all week, bless him. He'll require a little TLC me thinks.

Finally, I will be getting some money from DB when he gets paid a week today so I can finally pay some money off the debts... about time.

Anyway I think thats all for today, i'll post tomorrow and try my best to keep posting daily.
Takeaway tonight so must order that now,
    Keep smiling everyone :) , Cup_Cake xx
