    Hi all,

So we're home, we arrived back at 5am this morning after a horrible flight so I haven't slept. The holiday was great and just what the doctor ordered.
Luckily we took £200 spending money and spend no more which has got to be a first for me.

    Money:
It's absolutely terrible this month which I had a feeling it would be.
    £30 - In Purse
    £200 - Bank Account
£40 - Backup (just in case)
I don't get paid for another 20 days so money will be tighter than it has ever been and i'm determined to stick to the budget.

I've managed to spend money on my new credit card which I didn't need to spend so i'm really annoyed at myself. I'll update sig at some point but can't face it just yet.
I'm going to keep a really close eye on funds this month and i'll post ALL spends.

    Weight:
In good news i've lost 3 pounds. I am currently 12st 7lbs and I go to Spain soon so i'd like to lose at least 7lbs before I go. I'll keep you posted.

    Today:
I have a little to do today as i'm back at work tomorrow so i'm going to make a to-do list and try to stick to it.
    - at least 2 loads of washing.
    - shop for essentials, bread, milk etc.
    - unpack.
    - sleep.

    I'll post back later,
    Cup_Cake xx

    Hello

    Hows things going?

    Hey KP,

    I'm doing ok thank you!
I've been soooo poorly for the past few days, i'm feeling a little better today but i'm still really tired. I think i've had the flu, I seem to have had every symptom possible!
Being poorly hasn't done much for my bank balance. I had to get a taxi home from work on Monday and i'd promised to take DB to the train station on Tuesday and pick him up on Wednesday but I was too poorly so I had to pay for 2 more taxis there as well which came to £40 in total.
I haven't spent anything else though as I haven't been able to leave the house for 4 days!

Money is so so at the moment.
I know I said a while back that DB had a contract which was really exciting, however this didn't come through which is really common in contracting. He's been for a few interviews, 1 of which he didn't get but they've invited him back for another job which looks promising.
He is doing a lot of odd contracts at the moment is working away a lot which means I haven't seen him much :(. All the money he is earning he needs to live off as he doesn't know when the next lot of money will come in so still no debts being payed off. He is also doing some exams which are very expensive.
He is helping out with the groceries though which is a massive help so I can't complain.

I'm on holiday next Monday until Friday so thank goodness the ash cloud has cleared up! I'm taking £100 worth of euros. I'm hoping I don't need anymore than that!
I'm using some money saved from this weeks spends and next weeks allowance which I won't be using as I won't be here.

Things are pretty boring at the moment so I won't bore you anymore than I already have. Money is just plodding along as I am!

    I hope everyones well!

    Morning MSE'ers,

So i'm off work again this morning and feel really guilty about being off. However I still feel horrible so I don't think it's the best idea to go back in until i'm completely better.

I spent £25 at the supermarket yesterday. I managed to leave the shop with hardly any food as I just needed to stock up on household stuff like kitchen towel, washing up liquid etc. I know these arn't cheapest at supermarkets but I didn't have a choice as I didn't have the car to visit the cheaper shop.

Today should be a NSD as I plan on curling up in a ball and lazing about all day.
My appetite has completely gone so eating is a massive chore at the moment which is really annoying.

Tomorrow I need to pack and get some essentials for my holiday but it shouldn't cost much. I also need to pack.

Overall a boring post again today but writing on here makes me think more about the money i'm spending so you'll have to forgive me for being boring. Does anyone actually read my babbles? Apart from KP who obviously helps keep me on the straight and narrow.

    Have a good day all,

    Hey MSE'ers,

    So i'm back from Spain!
I had a lovely time with my lovely mum. I managed to spend just £100 which i'm really happy with.

However my spending has gotten out of control and i've managed to run up some more money on my cc. I'm really mad with myself but I think I need to sit down and own up to how much i've spent. I'm going to do this this week and add it to my signature.

Once it's written on my signature it will help me feel more in control and I can hopefully start doing something about it.

It's my first day back at work after 2 weeks off tomorrow so i'm feeling a little down this evening. DB has been away a lot lately with work too so that isn't helping.
Anyway I must go for my shower and an early night.
I'll report back later in the week with my updated sig.

    Hi all,

So it's been nearly one month since I promised to pull my finger out and admit to the full extent of my silly debts. Obviously I found it easier to hide my head in the sand and ignore the further debts which i've managed to build up.
Yes that's right i've actually managed to get myself into further debt. I'm so annoyed with myself, but i've been through the annoyed and angry stages and i've now decided it's time to stop feeling sorry for myself and just get on with money saving good and proper once and for all.

So I got paid a week ago and my new plan of not spending money on silly little things is going well so far. I have a strict budget of £50 per week for personal spends (would you believe this isn't enough some weeks, anyone would think I have a really exciting social life). I also have £50 per week groceries budget.
I must stick to this as I refuse to get into anymore debt!!

DB unfortunately still isn't working, not through lack of trying bless him. There is a potential job lined up so i'm keeping everything crossed for him as he deserves it so much, he's such a hard worker.
He has done a few contracts lately and has a few lined up of which he is giving me £550. £200 of this is paying off money which i've stupidly built up on my overdraft. The other £350 I am going to save! I know this is frowned upon when you have debts, however I would feel a lot better if I had just a little saved for a rainy day (well car).

I think other than my signature I have built up around £300 on my credit card and DB has also built up some more on my CC but i'm going to continue to bury my head in the sand at the moment as there is absolutely zero I can do about it until DB is earning a constant income as my wage just about covers everything.

The major problem we're having at the moment is my credit card payment, it is about £45 per month in interest alone . Can anyone give me any advice? I can't believe I have let it get to this point!

Nothing much else to report. It's my birthday next month and it's a milestone birthday so DB is taking me away for a night or two just to relax. It's his birthday a week after and he has decided what he wants. We've set a budget of £100 which may seem a little steep to say we're broke but I don't want to let this birthday pass me by without doing anything special. I also have a night out planned but it can easily be done frugally.

Anyway I am going to start admitting all spends on here so here goes to start with:
    Spends - £5
    To last until Thursday
    Groceries - £0
I did a huuuge shop to last this week and next week so shouldn't need anything for a while yet.
    Bank - £250
£100 of which is groceries for rest of month and £150 spends.

So i'll be admitting everything I spend from now on.

    How is everyone doing?
I was wondering the other day whether anyone else actually reads my occasional ramblings apart from KP. Is there anyone else out there?

    Speak soon, Cup_Cake xx

    Morning MSE'ers,

I thought the best way to keep up the MSE momentum was to make sure I keep posting religiously.

Today should be a low spend day. It's the last day of my spend budget this week so I may for once have a tiny bit left over.
I may need to pay for the bus home, it really depends whether I wait at work late to get a free lift, hmm decisions...

Anyway I have my lunch packed up so no spends there. I just need to avoid paying for expensive coffee.
Anyway i'm getting a lift to work so I must dash, have a good day everyone!

    Evening all,

So today was a low spend day as predicted. I spent £1.05 in total on a bag of crisps and a can of coke. I'm impressed with myself :o!

Work is soo hectic at the moment and today it just seemed to quiet right down so i've had a quiet day. I hate quiet days though, its more oppertunity to eat more than I should and the days go really slow. I guess I should enjoy it as they don't happen very often.

So DB and I haven't had a take-away for over a week now which although this may not seem like a big deal it's great for us too. We had a pork sunday dinner tonight which was scrummy.

I'm just going to do the washing up and then get tucked into bed for an early night, i'm shattered!

    Hope everyones well, Cup_Cake xx

    Hi all,

Today's been quite spendy although £4.20 of it was bus fare so this couldn't have been avoided. The other £2.75 was on pick-and-mix which could have been avoided :o.

I must have had this much in my purse as change so I didn't have to break into my £50 spends for this week which is good as I have a big weekend planned so I will need most of it for that.
I'm going away for the weekend, luckily its to a member of my families holiday home so its free... petrol however is not and will cost me around £20.

I have zero plans for this evening, I just need to wash up and get a shower and make my tea (fish finger and potato waffle sandwiches mmm).

    Spends:
    £50 Spends
    £100 Groceries
    £100 Bank (2 weeks spends)

Hope everyone is well, Cup Cake
