Morning all,
I can't believe how long its been since I updated last, where does the time go?!?!
So, I bit the bullet and updated my signature with the total extent of my debts.
It's scary, although not as scary as DB saying he now wanted to manage our money situation and proceeded to take all but one of my cards of me to try and curb my spending. He did this on Sunday last week and it has indeed worked. There was no secret of the fact that I spent money because I was bored, but when you're faced with 1 card with a set amount of money on it you don't have much choice but not to spend more than you have. It's about time!!
It's mine and DB's birthday next week so we have lots of plans.
- We have a BBQ on Saturday and have invited some family and friends.
- Monday night (my birthday) we're going out for a meal with my family which is going to be paid for by my lovely mum.
- Next Friday I have a night out with work which I will really have to watch my spending on.
- Next Sunday we're out at a gig.
- Then DB's birthday but he has no plans just yet.
So i'm thinking the most expensive will be BBQ and night out. We seem to have bought everything for the BBQ which totalled at £57 for everything as we managed to borrow some lighting for the garden which saved lots of money.
The night out will also be expensive but i've managed to save £35 of this weeks spends to cover it, it shouldn't cost that much though!
So theres my plans over the next couple of weeks. I have today and tomorrow off work to clean the house and garden in preperation for the bbq so i really need to get up and on.
Oh and money:
Payday tomorrow
Purse - £35 (should be able to save this for next week)
Oh and on a positive note, I got a letter from the bank saying that I could have 0% on one of my CC's if I did a balance transfer. DB has a couple of hundred pounds on a CC with another bank so ive balance transferred that over to my CC and saved myself £50 per month which is fab!
I hope everyone is well, Cup_Cake xx

Oh, I forgot to add, the debts are both mine and DB's so we'll be working together to pay them off!

Evening MSE'ers,
So the bbq was last night and it went great!
Despite the fact that I worried we wouldn't have enough food, there was sooo much left over that we will be eating the leftovers all week.
Everyone else seemed to enjoy themselves as well and I even managed to light some candles on the cake I made DB and he loved it so I was really happy.
Tomorrow is my actual birthday and DB and I are going out for a meal with my family (my mums treat) so that should be lovely too!
I've been so spoilt this year but it is a milestone birthday so i'm going to enjoy it as it doesnt happen very often.
We're lucky too because we dont have a lot of money this year but weve still managed to do plenty so im very happy.
Money wise, my budget renewed on Friday and I havent spent any of it yet so I should have plenty left over again. I had £30 left over last week so im saving that for my night out on Friday.
Im working tomorrow but only a short day so im going to have an early night and get tomorrow out of the way so I can enjoy my birthday evening with my favourite people.
I hope everyone else is well, Cup Cake xx

Well it's been another week since I last posted (where does the time go?!?)
My birthday was lovely, we went out for a lovely mexican meal courtesy of my mum.
I had my night out on Friday! It was a good night and I only spent £25, I can't remember the last time I spent less than £50 on a night out. I was being very money concious though and didn't drink too much!
DB, myself and my friend are going to a gig tonight as DB is singing so that should be really fun. Just need to keep my spending in check there as well, it's £5 to get in and I only need to buy drinks whilst there so shouldn't need to spend too much.
One of my birthday presents was a beautiful money box made of pot and to open it you need to smash it. It's for saving £2 coins and once full it holds over £1000. I'm hoping that because it's so beautiful I won't open it until i'm really desperate! It's sex in the city themed and says 'save in the city' on so i'll add that to my signature.
DB has been managing the budget for 2 weeks now. He said at the start that my budget is £50 per week and no more (it's the most serious i've ever heard him), so far I have saved money every week which is great. This went towards my night out and in my £2 pot. My £50 budget renewed on Friday and I haven't spent any yet but I have the gig tonight and then i'm out with my mum on Wednesday for a meal and the cinema so need to be really careful. I have to remember my budget includes travel to and from work aswell.
The food budget has halved as well since DB took over, I don't know where it came from but he has definately had his LBM! I'm really glad!
The oD2 in my signature is down to £200 but i'm not going to change anything until I get paid again and I know for sure it's going to stay as it is.
The car tax is due at the end of September and DB and I are trying to decide whether to pay £160 for 6 months  or whether to sell the car and buy a new one. I'll keep you posted.
Anyway must dash, I need a shower before we set off and DB needs to be there early to set off.
Speak tomorrow, Cup Cake xx

Hi MissShoes,
It's nice to see a new face on my diary! It's good to know people are lurking around. I understand them not posting, I lurk plenty of diaries but don't post on them all!
Gig was fab tonight, although I spent nearly £30  so i'm going to have to be very careful this week! DB was excellent and I never regret spending money when I get to watch him sing as he's sooo good.
Next week at work will be horrendous as I have some horrible stuff coming up so I can't wait to get it out of the way. I'll just have to resist the expensive alcohol and remember it is not the answer!
**runs off to google terramundi**
Yes MissShoes it is! I didn't know there was a name for it. It is very pretty, and the name 'Save in the City' may make a very good name for my next diary. I just need to keep up with the one I already have!
Goodnight all, I need to be up at 6 and i'm dreading next week enough as it is without been exhausted too.
**runs off to have a read of MissShoes' diary**

Afternoon everyone,
Short day at work for me, i'm soo tired lately, I feel like a need a break from work but i'll have to wait until September for a 2 week holiday.
It's DB's birthday so we've been chilling out this afternoon. We're going to the carvery this evening so it should be a fairly cheap meal out.
Today i've bought some crisps at work. It would be cheaper to buy at the supermarket but im trying to cut down! I also bought DB some cigs and some pop from the shop so £4 spent there which i've not asked him for. I'm going to buy him them (although just today because I don't like him smoking).
Really dreading the rest of the week at work so I need to just enjoy my chill out this afternoon and look forward to Friday.
Hope everyones ok, Cup Cake xx

[COLOR="rgb(153, 50, 204)"]Again it's been a couple of days since I posted.
I'm only online briefly to say my laptop has broken so I might be MIA for a little while. My mum has kindly lent me hers but I need to work out how to get it on the internet.
Anyway, budget renews tomorrow and I have kept within budget this week so i'm very pleased. I also won £50 at work

Afternoon MSE'ers,
Finished work for the week
so i'm a happy bunny now!
It's been a really bad week so i've just been coming home and plonking on the sofa all evening.
My budget renewed today and i've spent £4.10, £2.20 on dinner and £1.90 on bus fare. Neither of which could have been avoided as we didn't have anything in the house to make for dinner.
I found out my £50 from work can go towards sainsburys vouchers so that covers the shopping budget for a week. I will get them next week so thats a little more towards debts.
DB is in an interview right now so keep everything crossed for him! He wasn't confident when he left but at least he's trying his hardest.
We've managed to spend no more than £30 a week on food this month so there should be some paid of the debts. This is good considering were currently living on just one wage.
Anyway, it's been a quiet week which i've needed after the birthday weekends. I'm going out for the day tomorrow then i'm at a friends tomorrow night for a little catch up with some high school friends. Sunday will be spend relaxing and doing a little housework.
Hope you're all well, Cup Cake xxx
