Happy Friday MSE'ers,
I've been a little MIA lately, whoops!
I was paid on Tuesday but ive been on a work trip this week, spent £40 to claim back and £10 of my weekly allowance. I took my allowance out on Tuesday but i'm going to try and make it last until next Friday because it's a 4 1/2 week month. It should certainly be doable.
I've not spent anything from the food budget yet but have got my £50 sainsburys vouchers. I'm going to keep a close eye on what I spend on groceries this month and keep a tally.
I also got my train tickets from my holidays so i'm getting very excited now. Also DB is coming down to visit me for the weekend so I won't be without him for 10 days. I just know that i'd stop enjoying the holiday because i'd miss him so much.
DB bought a new car today. He's put the extra money towards so nothing for me to pay, apparently it's a lovely car, i'm just waiting for him to get home in it. The reason for the new car is because having a petrol car was getting very expensive so we've bought a diesel instead which will make it much cheaper to go anywhere.
We're going away again this weekend but we'll just have to be careful to be super frugal. We get accomodation free as it's a family members house so thats good. Just hope the traffic is ok and the sun comes out, I don't want much do I?!
Anyway the washing up is calling, I NEED to do this before I go away.
Happy long weekend everyone, Cup Cake xx

Happy Sunday all,
You won't find me happy on a Sunday very often but with a bank holiday Monday upon us i'm a happy cup cake.
I came home yesterday from my weekend away. The weather was horrible and there isn't much to do at the seaside when it's raining.
We didn't spend much though. I spent £13 of the grocery budget which isn't bad for a weekend away. DB is helping out a lot more with things money wise so it's making things must easier for me.
Yesterday we visited DB's dad and my dad and I bought enough food to last us last night. Spent £7 on a chicken and stir fry with which I made DB fajitas with. I didn't fancy any food as I didn't feel well.
There is plenty of food left over for a chinese chicken stir fry tonight.
Today i'm going to be soooo busy, i'm going to write a list so I don't forget anything.
Listy list:
- Exercise
- Take a shower and wash hair
- Food shopping
- Wash up
- DB and I go clothes shopping for DB
- Sell mobile phone on Ebay
- Movie night tonight
Should be easily doable. I'm going to shoot off now and start getting ready.
Have a nice Sunday all, Cup Cake xx

Evening all,
I've spent a fortune today!
£150 on clothes for DB
£50 on groceries
The clothes went on my credit card, I spent a small fortune but he hasn't been clothes shopping in about 2 years (yes you read that right) so £150 for 2 years worth of clothes isn't bad at all really. For that he got 1 pair of work trousers, 1 pair of jeans, 4 work shirts, 3 t-shirts, 1 pair of shoes and some boxer shorts.
It really made me want to do some clothes shopping for myself, I resisted all urges and am going to wait until we have some more money to replenish my wardrobe.
Grocery spends will cover this week and maybe longer. That is a total of £70 this month already which isn't great but we'll just have to be careful.
We should be ok as it still leaves us with over £40 per week and we haven't been spending that lately. I think the reason we spent £50 this week is because we used the sainsbugs vouchers that I had and they tend to be a little more expensive that the usual supermarkets we shop at.
I must update my signature with my CC spends today
. The debt doesn't seem to be going anywhere does it?!?!
Phone is about to go on Ebay as I was looking at dongles but DB said it would be better to get a phone with option to go on the internet, add internet to my phone plan and use the phone instead of a dongle when i'm away.
Must dash, xx

Morning all,
I had plans today but they have been changed as I was let down last minute .
Instead my mum is going to come round for an hour and then i'm going to do some housework. It should hopefully be a NSD, I certainly need some if i'm going to save some money for my little hol in September.
Yesterdays Listy list:
- Exercise
- [STRIKE]Take a shower and wash hair[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Food shopping[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Wash up[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]DB and I go clothes shopping for DB[/STRIKE]
- Sell mobile phone on Ebay
- [STRIKE]Movie night tonight[/STRIKE]
It's always the same, I never exercise
. I must do some today!
List for today:
- Put mobile phone on Ebay
- Sweep hallway
- Sweep living room
- Cook dinner and tea (no takeaways)
- EXERCISE
Not much to do really, I just must make sure I stay away from anything spendy.
It's DB's first day of work tomorrow so I really just want to spend the day with him.
Happy bank holiday Monday all, Cup Cake xx

Good evening,
I haven't been on for a few days, how time flies!
Not much has happened really, DB started his job and is getting on really well so i'm keeping everything crossed for him.
Money is going well, i've had £50 for 10 days and still managed to end the week with £5 spare.
I've gathered loads of change so i'm going to add this up and add it to my signature.
I'm working a short day tomorrow but have loads to catch up on now that DB is at work. I'll post a list tomorrow after work!
Hope everyone is well, Cup Cake xx

Good afternoon all,
Today has been a little more spendy than planned. My budget renewed and ive already spent £8
.
£3.00 on dinner
£2.30 bus fare
£2.70 yummyness
I also got a £2 coin in my change so thats another bit gone, leaving me with £40 for the week which isn't great considering I was trying to save something weekly towards my hols. If i'm good I should still be able to save £15ish which is still really good.
Speaking of hols, DB has booked a couple of days off and is coming to join me on the second week
. This has cheered me up because I was a little worried that towards the end of the 10 days I might miss him so much that it starts to ruin my holiday. (we've only ever spent 1 week apart and that was plenty).
I said yesterday that I would post a list of things to do this afternoon but after work I came home and had a nap and i'm not doing the housework. I won't make a list because DB is home in an hour and i'm just going to do as much as I can before he gets home and we can settle into a relaxing evening together. I've already done the washing up.
I'm shopping tomorrow with my mum. I'm desperate for some casual t-shirts so we're going to have a look around. If I do get anything it will go on my credit card but i'm not hoping to spend much more than £30ish.
My mum is also going to do my nails for me tomorrow which is always a lovely (free) treat!
Food shopping this week can wait until Sunday and I will go with DB. He makes sure I don't spend anything I shouldn't. We have £130 left of the food budget this month and 3 weeks to go so easily doable as long as we're good.
Work will be crazy busy for the next 2 weeks before my holiday and i've been feeling soooo tired lately. I MUST make sure I eat better and exercise on an evening to keep my energy levels up for a couple of weeks and then I can really relax on my hols.
Wow, that turned into a much bigger post than i'd thought. Anyway must dash, the housework won't do itself (oh how I wish it would though)

Evening all,
So I finished the washing up, made tea (kievs, chips, peas and sweetcorn, yum!) and washed up again. I also sweeped the floor in the living room. I also need to clean the bathroom but this will have to wait until tomorrow or Sunday. I may need to make a little list for Sunday just so that I don't forget anything, I won't have time to do much after work next week!
I've counted up all my change and added it to my signature, i've saved over £10 which is good. I may take a fiver out for my hols but i'll see how the saving goes over the next 2 weeks. I've just remembered that I will also have my weeks allowance as well as the £50 which i've saved for the hols so thats £100. If I spend that in the 5 days leading up to that payday on the Friday I will be really shocked. Plus DB is paid on the Friday so even better!
I was about to list my phone on Ebay but noticed that it's a free listing weekend this weekend so will list it tomorrow instead (every little helps!)
I'm looking forward to finally paying off some debts this payday, it will be for the first time ever and it can't come soon enough. I'm estimating that we should be able to pay off around £1000 which will be great. As of the month after we should be able to pay £2000 a month off, although it really depends whether we save any aside for outselves.
It's just a shame that we'll have to get into a little more debt before paying any off. It could be avoided because it's me buying some t-shirts and an upgrade of a mobile (around £60 for all of it) but it's been a long time coming, at least we know we can pay it off now.
DB has been telling me about his work tonight, it sounds really promising and they want him to go far which is great, I just hope he keeps his head straight, he finds it so difficult to get wrapped up in everything sometimes.
Anyway I managed to chat on again, have a good Friday night everyone!

Good Morning All,
I was hoping for a lie in this morning so I set my alarm for 10am, however I ended up waking up at 8am.
I feel pretty rubbish too!
Anyway I did some exercise this morning, I just need to make a special effort to keep up with it. It's more difficult now as I need to get my stamina up as I get tired too easily at the moment.
I'm just having some breakfast then heading out for the day shopping. I will report back later with my spends!

What a lovely morning it is!
I love this time of year when it's getting a little bit cooler but it isn't dark on a morning or an evening yet.
Sooo, shopping didn't go well yesterday
. I looked EVERYWHERE for some casual t-shirts and couldn't find a single one, the designs out at the moment seem to be floral and blouses which just don't suit my body shape at all.
I came away with a gorgeous hoody and a pair of brown boots which will match a lot of what I already own including my favourite handbag. I spent £50 in total but they are pieces which will last me so I don't really mind. I'd rather that than spend £50 on t-shirts which would only last a couple of months before becoming mishaped or holey.
Yesterday I also spent the following:
£1.40 on a bday card for my stepdad
£4.50 on lunch (scrummy!)
£3.60 on groceries
This leaves me with £34 spends for the week although £2 of that is a £2 coin so will have to go into my 'save in the city pot' today. I may also add the other £2 to my sealed pot but haven't decided yet. I can easily live on £30 this week as I am getting a lift in for 2 of the days so will only need £8 for bus fare. I am still on target to save £20 I just must stay away from the vending machine and starbucks!
Groceries are currently at £73.60 leaving us with £126.40 for the rest of the month which is easily doable, again I just have to be sensible. I'm going food shopping today so will try and stick to the list, shouldn't be too bad as we have quite a bit of food left over from last week.
This ties nicely in with the diet, I NEED to lose weight! I do not want to continue on with how I am feeling now, I know full well that it's the reason I am always tired. The diet starts now! I'll confess on here if I stray from the diet.
I finally put my phone on Ebay for buy it now, I have 1 watcher (although i've never understood why anyone watches buy it nows). I'll keep you posted.
Anyway, here is my list for today:
- 2 loads of washing, drying and putting away
- Post step dads birthday card
- Return grandmas phone call (she always calls when im in bed)
- Food shopping
- Make dinner and tea (NO takeaways)
- Clean bathroom
(worst job in the whole world)
- Sort wardrobe of all things I no longer wear
- Exercise
- Make lunches for work for the week
This is all I can think of for now although I know there will be loads more.
I will post back later with my spends, have a nice relaxing Sunday all,
Cup Cake xx

Evening, I hope everyone has had a lovely Sunday!
Today has been very busy!
List for today:
- [STRIKE]2 loads of washing, drying and putting away[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Post step dads birthday card[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Return grandmas phone call (she always calls when im in bed)[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Food shopping[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Make dinner and tea (NO takeaways)[/STRIKE]
- Clean bathroom
(worst job in the whole world)
- Sort wardrobe of all things I no longer wear
-[STRIKE] Exercise[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Make lunches for work for the week[/STRIKE]
I didn't clean the bathroom although I think a small part of me knew I wouldn't :rotfl:. I also haven't sorted my wardrobe but there is no rush for this.
I did however exercise which i'm really proud of myself for. I MUST keep this up!
I'm a busy bee next week and have made some social plans, this may eat into my saving £20 of this weeks budget but I have to have some form of social life.
Still no action on selling my phone on Ebay but i'll keep watching, there are 2 days left.
The food shopping came to £30 making my overall food spends £103.60 which leaves £50 per week until we get paid which is 2 weeks so it has evened itself out again.
This week I will do the following:
- Sort out paperwork piling up on the staircase
- Sort out wardrobe (it's getting cold and I need to pull out my winter wear)
- Clean bathroom
- Exercise at least 3 times
Easily doable!
Right, shower time, wash hair and a little grooming, nail painting and such. Have a nice night all!
