Could I have some advice please? I have listed lots of baby clothes, all at 99p. Most are going ok but there is one auction ending tomorrow which only 3 people are watching and there are no bids.

It's for a bundle of several matching items from a fairly expensive label so I'm loathe to let them go for 99p. Also my sister gave them us so there's an emotional attachment in seeing them go for a decent price.

Should I pull the auction and relist, maybe splitting the items this time? Is there any problem in doing that? Should I just accept there are winners and losers all the time on eBay??

    Thanks

Jevvers - it may be that those watchers do end up pushing up the final amount to something decent. However, if you don't want to take the chance that it all sells for 99p then I would pull and sell separately especially if they are in good condition. It seems that if you;ve got good named brands you're better off selling individually than as a lot. All my best! Slipper.

  • Jewers - If there are no bids, pull them, then you can relist at a price you are happy with

Don't pull them, just change the price - revise the auction and put what price you would be happy to sell them at. That way you don't loose those 3 watchers who might have wanted to bid on them

  • I have finally had a couple of sales :D. I have sold a couple of items of costume jewellery and a pair of show tickets ( I bought the wrong date).

I have listed a few more items but I'm finding this very time consuming - any hints and tips welcome.

    total sales so far £83

Grrrr, I'm fuming!! I posted on here yesterday about the pain in the a**e man who bought a door lock off me and then decided he didn't want it and wouldn't pay. Well I basically told him he had to and he kept his side of the deal etc. This is what he replied -

I have spoken to ebay and they said it is you the seller who have to instruct them to remove the unpaid item record. I explained to you that what I bid for was not exactly what I was looking for, so how do I pay for something I have no use for?.

As a frequent seller on ebay, have you never come accross any situation where a prospective buyer has to withdraw from purchase for the same reason? Have you had a look at my feedback to see what others say about me?

And does this merit putting an unpaid record on my account which stops me from earning my livelihood? (End of message)

What a plonker!!!! To be honest I think I will cancel the unpaid dispute and block him but I'm worried he will leave me negative feedback, would he be able to do this??

Yes he would - do not close the dispute. If he bid and changed his mind he could have cancelled his bid easily. If he changed his mind and the auction ended thats his tough luck. He either pays, gets a strike or persuades you to mutually agree to cancel the transaction which I wouldn't do. Its not you who is in the wrong. I think if you close it he can leave feedback but if he gets a strike then he can't. Not certain of that though as eBay change the rules too often for me to keep up

  • Put up some magazines on eBay last night / tonight. I had 15 photographed but I've stopped at 10. I think I'll put the rest away for another occasion. 3 of them already have bids on and another couple are being watched so I think I'll leave it at 10 items this week.
    Thank you competition posters!

I think it just IS time consuming I'm afraid. Some people just bung up a picture with one line of description and they do still seem to have success but you never know how much of a difference to the price it makes. I can never bring myself to do that (although that may change!)
