Can anyone help me please? I sold a brand new door lock for 99p on ebay. A guy bought it and then sent me a message to say he didn't want it which is a bit annoying, well I did ignore his message and ebay automatically opened an unpaid dispute. This is a lot of hassle over 99p!!! He sent me the following message below today. He is wrong in what he is saying isn't he?? I don't understand how he thinks he can threaten me with legal action when he's the one in the wrong!!!! Please help!!! This is his message:Despite explaining the reasons for not going ahead with the purchase of your chain, you went ahead and record unpaid item case on my account. Why is this? Is this not for those who received the items, but fail to pay for them?
I am disappointed that you went this route which is preventing me from making purchases on Ebay, even though I have not received the items. Have you never in your life bought anything that you later decided against?
I believe if you look back at the records you would realised that I made my decision not to go ahead with the purchase known within the time stipulated by Ebay and for that matter the Rules relating to online trading in this country.
Could you look into this and get the unpaid item cases removed from my account as it is seriously affecting me?
If this couldn't be done, as this is the only way I make my livelyhood, please note that I would be compelled to resume legal proceedings against you to compensate for loss of income.
Well he can threaten you with legal action but he wouldn't get anywhere with it. I would respond stating that in order to retract his bid during the auction, he would have to follow the instructions that eBay provide. Sending a message after the auction was finished did not retract the bid and eBay automatically opens an unpaid dispute.
Suggest he contact eBay direct if he has any questions.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
Haven't done any eBaying this week as living a nightmare. On my first day of new job I was informed that they had to cut my hours by two thirds with immediate effect so have spent the weekend trying to work out how I am going to work 16 hours a week to keep my WTC.
Is anybody self-employed for eBay - not for buying items but for acting as a thrid party listing items and taking a cut of the money made?Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
Thanks Floxxie, I will do that and see what his response is. Sorry to hear about your job, I hope you manage to get something sorted out.Sealed pot member #1950 - £44.79

Oh, I thought that only free listing weekends had insertion fees!! I have not listed anymore clothes because I was waiting for a free listing weekend! What about re-listing? Do you know if this is free? I think when I went to relist it tells me to pay a fee of 10p per item, is that right or do I have to untick something or do anything else? I am a bit of a noob hereQuit smoking *1st January 2010*

I have 9 items to post tomorrow... ebay might not make me rich this year (most went for 99p), but it's certainly helping me to declutter.0

Just checked my ebay, I have 26 watchers on a monsoon top that I bought from a jumble sale for 20p!!!!! It's mad!! Bids are only up to £1.59 and there's a couple of days left. Knowing my luck people will only watch and not bid. Grrrrrr!!! My lovely Mum has just had a clear out and given me 3 massive bin bags full of clothes to list and she doesn't want anything for them. Result! Will def take her out for dinner or something to say thanks.Sealed pot member #1950 - £44.79

£11.29 profit from the 5 items I sold last weekend after fees and postage so £22.94 from ebay for me in January.
Then:
£2.13 from Amazon.
£24.94 from returning stuff to L*keland under their guarentee but bought ages ago so not like a normal retrurn.
£19 selling things through work.
£24.49 Selling some things on another forum
= £70.56 in total.
So my total sales for January were £93.50 - so slightly over my target of £83 a month if I'm going to make £1000 from selling stuff in 2011!
5 of this week's ebay things have been paid for and posted already and total is £16.48 and 2 more little bits need payment.
5 things on again last night, 2 lots have 2 things in them and I have 2 with bidders on already. Keep thinking of more things I could sell but think the slow and steady is the best way to do it.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Square EYES!
I feel like I have square eyes. I spent 4 hours listing on sunday. I listed over 35 items of handmade jewellery, 3 old pairs of shoes i've never (or barely) worn and a handbag that is lovely but just not my style...i've never used it. Its the description and uploading the photos that takes an age. Next time I think i'll enlist the help of hubby on his fancy pants iphone - he's always trying to demonstrate to me how fab it is (although I dont share his enthusiasm i'm afraid i'm a really frugal money saver and cannot justify all that cash for a phone). He can use that while I hammer away on the laptop - two heads and all that, we'll just divide my piles of stuff to list and see who finishes first. I hate the postage. I measure and weigh stuff at home using the post offices' charts & my scales then its never the same price when I take it to the post office! I think its cos the women behind the counter have all had their sense of humour removed and find it helps them through the day to over charge!0 -
£89.09 total after this weekend
There is no way I am going to reach £1000, I don't have enough stuff to sell, but that £100 i set for myself feels very close :j2011 143.47£ on eBay :starmod:0
