Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was , when I was employed I was paying national insurance, the payroll deducted it from my wage slip and also I was self employed doing Ebay. I also got charged national insurance for earning off ebay too.
Now I don't have a day job and can't claim JSA or any benefits, I want to make sure I am paying enough on my stamp.0 -
Thanks for the link.
I think I will have to persevere and keep ringing them.0 -
When I had a job I paid NI and also through being self-employed I paid a quarterly bill. Now I am doing eBay only I just pay the quarterly bill - although like you TMD I could be exempt. My little eBay business was a hobby until Dec when I had to leave work funding cuts) and now I am giving it a shot as a proper full time business. Ebay is slow at the moment but any sale is good as we are desparate for the money! I can't find a part-time job and have sent off so many cv's that I am concentrating on Ebay now.

CompletelyLost, I would also just relist it in a free weekend, or maybe tell him £20 with collection only if the item was a bit big or heavy.
About no bidders, I am waiting until the end of the month and use pay day to my advantage. I will relist if it is free, maybe starting the bid later and not immediately if this is also free of charge (I've never done it), but I want my items to end the 5th or 6th of February.
binnie, do you really need a business account on eBay? Are you selling new stuff or re-selling things? Can't you just sell your own bits in a personal account? I kind of feel that you would be better off with the benefit that relying on eBay for the time being, unless you do get a regular income from it. A profit of £448 after fees is only £38 a month, and the £65 a week just makes sense. Check online if there is any chance that you could get any other benefits or reliefs whilst you find a new job. I know there is a way to pay NI directly, like some people living abroad, but not sure how, sorryQuit smoking *1st January 2010*

Just received a request 'will you end auction early and accept a buy it now price' for an item I have listed - but their BIN price is less than I have listed the item for! Seems a cheek to me
