  • Am really pleased to hear that everyone is doing so well,

I've been having a few problems to be honest:

One guy was definitely trying it on with requesting postage back, as I had agreed to send something for free and had also paid an extra £3 or so, I said that I thought we were possibly even. First off, he said they'd not arrived but I told him I had proof of posting, and that did it.

Another problem I'm having is that an item is still in my sold section but says "view paypal transaction" when I click on it, it says I need a paypal account. But I already have an account but it doesn't seem to be registering with this one particular payment. All the others have gone through without any problems whatsoever. I don't really know what to do. Should I ring paypal?? The buyer is urgently requesting the item (especially as they believe they've paid) and as it was only £1.00 I thought I'd better send it. Anyone got any advice?

Sorry, last problem is that the buyer is unhappy with their purchas saying that I have misdescribed it and that I stated p&p was £9.50 and they say postage was only £3.66. I have written back about their queries stating that I haven't misdescribed it and why, and that I have a receipt for £8.65 postage and the other 85p was packaging. I have offered them a full refund if they post it back recorded. Is this enough, should I do something else??? Please advise, I hate to disappoint people but I described it as honestly as I could.

sounds like a problem with paypal & not the buyer. if you have their address then I'd say to send the item. Did you get a paypal email when they sent the payment and is it registering as paid on ebay?? when you click on the listing it should say that the buyer has paid via paypal at the top of the page.

i'd get them to send it back then refund them, otherwise they'll just claim it back through paypal and neg you. sad but some buyers will do anything to get a refund, even though it's probably because they've changed their mind or the item doesn't fit. sadly paypal tends to side with the buyer, never the seller.
  • Thanks completelylost, I have emailed them to say that I would be more than happy to do this. I hope that they accept this.

With regard to the paypal item, I intend to send it out tomorrow and have emailed ebay to ask why there is a difference between that particular payment and all the other payments, otherwise I'll sort it out with paypal. (No I didn't get a message from paypal, and it is not registering on my paypal account either). Thanks for the advice. You are a star. x
  • no worries :)
it does seem strange that the payment isn't registering... is the buyer's feedback decent?

  • Hi everyone,

just thought Id Say hi as I've not had chance to catch up on this thread for a few days. I had a few things finishing over the weekend, but still need to work out my profit after fees and posting.

  • Can you ring Paypal re the payment? Have you checked the e-mail address they sent the payment too, maybe they didn't use the link on the invoice but used the 'Send Money' tab where they would have to type in your e-mail address and if they did it wrong then maybe that is why you cannot find it - not sure really never had this happen to me before.

Just spent the last hour checking this out. For some reason that particular listing has a VERY old email account attached to it, that I can no longer access (I have just tried aswell in the hope). I have contacted paypal to see if they can help and have just checked all of my other listings to make sure they are my current email address and they are phew!!! I've emailed the buyer to say I'll post out ASAP and sorry for inconvenience.

    What a palava????
  • Thanks to all for the advice - am off to bed now!!! x
