Yeah, I am selling the same kind of stuff: clothes I am bored of, clothes that I never wore because didn't fit, eBay purchases I got disappointed of, accessories I had in drawers, sealed stuff I never opened and aome of my OH clothes because he tends to buy 6-8 items in a go without trying and he removes tags as soon as he arrives home, put things in the wardrobe and 3 months later he just says that it does not fit!! Grrrrr!!! Lol So I do not really expect items to go over £2 if anything. So far, I made £24.94 after seller fees but before posting. I have spent £2.58 in packaging but now I have plenty for next time. I bought manilla envelopes and loads of celotape, which I am using in all the edges and corners so they are a bit more reforced. so £22.36 without posting, I have 9 items to post... so hopefully they do not go over £2 each lol, otherwise I am left even!!!! Oh well... less clutter at home... no, wait, now I have loads of envelopes!! LOL

I will try to do something later on and share it in a GoogleDocs account. Again, do not expect anything awesome!!

I'm interested in the postage receipts thread and am a newbit. Can you tell me what that helps with if the parcel goes missing? Does the post office give you anything back? How do you normally deal with the buyer in these cases?

Please excuse me if this is covered elsewhere - a link would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

I usually send EVERYTHING recorded, as it's only another 70p.
If an item goes missing, you can download a claim form I think.
The last time I did it, which was ages ago, I had to include a print off of the eBay page with them item on.
Got the money back eventually but AFAIK the seller refunds the buyer then claims back from the Post Office.

Its been a while since i last posted, ive not been listing on ebay, but have listed to 2 items today not great but its a start!!

Plan to get back listing proper tomorrow, so will keep you all posted!

I did have a strange occurance last week, a buyer messeged me saying that her item hadn't yet arrived, luckily i'd sent it recorded so messeged back that the item had been delivered 5 days previous and had been signed for and refered her to the RM track and trace with the code number so she could see for herself.....I haven't heard from her since. Can't help but wonder if she was trying it on, The item sold for £47 so im glad i sent it recorded :D

  • I had some thing finish earier and have some things finishing soon, have a few bids on things so am happy, a couple of items have 2 or 3 bids. Am happy with anything really and it's great to take lots of parcels to the post office as it's less to clutter up my house.

  • Could you help me with a query please? I have packaged & weighed my first e-bay sell tonight & firstly I am a bit worried that I didn't allow for any discrepancy in the weight that I input when I printed the postage labels & secondly it was only after I printed them that I realised that only certain post offices will accept them. Our local post office is really small so does that it mean it is unlikely to accept it? Also what happens if the postage paid should have been a bit more - can I ask them for a price in the post office & add on extra stamps if necessary? Sorry, I have just thought of one more query - it says on ebay that I need to leave feedback - do I just need to say that the buyer paid promptly? Sorry for all the questions!

If you packaged the parcel, weighed it on the kitchen scales and then put that weight into the online postage (and whether it was letter, large letter or parcel) there should be no problem, if you're worried and it's the first time you could get the post office to double check

secondly it was only after I printed them that I realised that only certain post offices will accept them. Our local post office is really small so does that it mean it is unlikely to accept it?

I've taken them to several different post offices and never had a problem, both small and large ones.

I wait until the person leaves me feedback so I know they have got it ok and are happy with it and then leave feedback saying some combination of paid quickly, good communication, smooth transaction - depending on the circumstances.

    Sorry for all the questions!
