  • GOOD MORNING ALL AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Have now posted 21 items but have only got one bid so far. However, I have had two people ask if I have a buy it now price? Not really sure what to do. Just bunged them on at 99p and hoped for the best. Hopefully this is a good sign. Can't believe how much money people have made 6/7 hundred pounds is a LOT of money. Hopefully I will be moving in with my partner in the next couple of months so clearing the house is important and will be useful as well as money making.

Have fun everyone and good luck. x

    Hello!
I did it.Today is the first day of the New Year and first day of this challege. I listed the first item: Carlton chest freezer. It takes a lot of space but is not used. I've put price of 99p to avoid fees.
  • I'm keen to join in too. One of my resolutions is to list one item per day on ebay.

I already have a couple of things lined up to sell but the camera has gone walkabouts so will probably have to spend the rest of the day looking for it as it's probably been put somewhere "safe" where no-one would ever think to look - already checked the fridge and kitchen cupboards!!
  • Hi everyone can I join please?

I go around car boots, jumble sales, table top sales, garage sales, charity shops, recycling centres for any tat "cough" stock to sell on. It can be done, I have chatted to people who go around car boots and one lady sells shoes on Ebay and sells £3,000 a month , I know she sells £150 worth of stuff most days as I have '[STRIKE]stalked[/STRIKE] 'found' her on ebay.

    TH xx

Hope you don't mind me asking but what is this lady's profile id on Ebay? As i am really curious and fascinated by what she must sell etc.

    Thanks!

Afternoon people and a Happy New Year to you all, fingers crossed it will be a prosperous one for all of us :D

My DD is off to her dads for a couple of days later today so I shall be using this time to get some listing started on Ebay. I really want to set myself a target, not sure whether to do £10 a day and round it up a bit and aim for £4k or whether in view of all the business stock I have if I should aim much higher.

My problem is I work full time, have a 5 year old and will be starting a degree later this month lol :rotfl:

Are you doing lock pick-up, with it being a large item?
I would always be careful when listing at 99p for local pick-up, as sometimes there's not a lot of interest and items don't fetch much. I tend to list things like that on Gumtree to avoid fees and get a better price. But then again, I'm not an expert when it comes to selling large items - I'm sure you know what you're doing :)

I'd make sure they definitely want to buy it before you list as 'buy it now'. I've done it for a few people and never had any problems :)

I've just had someone email me about some shoes I listed, asking what postage will be to Germany. Fingers-crossed she'll buy them and make me my first sale of 2011 - she has bought shoes from me before.

Thank you for your advise. Yes, it's pick up only. I'm not an expert either ;) I'm selling it on behalf my sister-in-law, she bought it long time ago and has no space to keep it at her house. She wanted give it on Freecycle, but she wants to try Ebay first. Actually, I've got a problem now: for some reasons is listed as "with ice-maker", but it hasn't got one and I've got already a bid! I can't change it, I added on description it hadn't got one and I sent a message to buyer. I propably didn't notice that during listing. What can I do now?:(

Whoo-hoo! My saxophone has attracted bidders! Almost 30 people watching so I am hoping for a much better price. Shame it has to go, but the sale value so far means grippers, thresholds and most of the underlay throughout the house.
  • Hi MissKaytee

I have a A4 diary that is a page a day including Sat & Sun. Then when I go out I sit on a Sat or Sun after the car boot or whatever and write in there, a list what I brought eg 6 craft magazines £1 and so on. Then I total it up, and transfer it onto a A4 sheet. So I have an A4 sheet for January outgoings another for Feb etc. The incomings are the invoices from ebay or Amazon. You can also claim for any petrol at 41p per mile so I have another sheet for mileage.
I don't have excel so everything is paperbased but I need to put everything on a spread sheet. I think openoffice have one to down load, I might do that tomorrow. Also don't forget to write down entrance fees etc.

Any recipets from charity shop/pound shop etc get put in an small envelope with the date on and I have a box that I put everything in. I also clip the postage recipts to the invoices that have sold everyday and put in the box. The same for Amazon sales etc.

My accountant is happy with this

I hope that is ok - sorry for long post

  • Hi Princesslou

I don't want to put her id on a forum but if you look on ebay and find someone who is selling items similar to what you want to sell, then go onto Googbay (google it) and on there you can do extra research. I have found out quite a lot on there and although people selling lots of item may seem as though they are making loads they are also paying lots of ebay and paypal fees too.

Research research is all that I can say.
