I'm up for this, too. I used to pop in and out of the old thread, and found it quite inspiring... even though I didn't sell all that much myself :S I managed to make £620 last year.
In 2011 I'm definitely making it my challenge to get rid of as much of the excess (*cough* aka clutter *cough*) that I have accumulated. I started tonight by listing a game and it sold pretty much straight away! Just proves that one person's junk is another person's treasure.
I'm going to aim to make £200 per month, which v much do-able when you consider just how much junk I have. Good luck all xx0 -
I did 8 relists today and one has a bid on already, only for 99p though but still an early bid considering it's running for 10 days.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Try Amazon marketplace for the DS, they are generally pretty good and get good prices.(DFW Long Haul # 240 )0 -
I was hoping revellers would come home in the early hours and make a few tipsy bids. But no! I can't believe how many watchers I have for 99p start items...
I think though that it's because I don't have any DSR's as I haven't sold in a long time.0 -
Hello, can i join in please? I haven't done ebaying for months now, made about 350 pounds last year just from our clothes but spent it all buying more back!! Was thinking of not listing until february though, do things sell well in january after xmas and the sales or is it a bit quiet?
Have lots of clothes to sell, i do have a very broken ps2 main part only, rabbit chewed all the wires to it! and a v broken psp (broke it yesterday thinking i could mend it and now it won't even start!) - is it really worth selling for parts? Bit nervous about selling broken items, get paranoid about receiving bad feedback, don't want any negatives lol.
Also i always charity shop toys as i am never sure about posting them, royal mail seems expensive for posting boxes, is it the cheapest option? I have some bigger stuff that would sell like teletubbies play house set but boxes are v bashed, also a circus set that have some broken/missing items in but it is from when i was a child so wondering if it's worth trying.
Want to try more than just clothes this year but never have any boxes, dh has just chucked tons of them out i was storing in the loft as it was so full up in there!
I think i would like to try to make about 600 pounds this year, and not spend it lol so that i can use it for xmas. When you list how much you have made in your signatures do you take out the postage and fees beforehand?
Oops sorry for all the thick questions lol, and Happy New Year!
too_much_debt - don't worry at least it was only your mum and dad you sent it to lol. My nan always gives her xmas gifts away lol, last year though she gave one item back to th person who gave it to her originally! I'm sure they'll just see the funny side (can sympathise tho as i do things like that too!) xgrocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000 -
Hi everyone can I join please?
I have a small ebay business account that I have used in the past as a hobby, but out of work now so need to make ebay pay now as I will rely on it for an income:eek:
I have some ideas that I will try out, yes I do pay tax and have registered as a business with the tax office.
I go around car boots, jumble sales, table top sales, garage sales, charity shops, recycling centres for any tat "cough" stock to sell on. It can be done, I have chatted to people who go around car boots and one lady sells shoes on Ebay and sells £3,000 a month , I know she sells £150 worth of stuff most days as I have '[STRIKE]stalked[/STRIKE] 'found' her on ebay.
I have signed uo for the £11,000 in 2011 challenge to keep me motivated too.
I am starting from tonight when I will be listing. Good Luck everyone.

Need to make a big dent in the debt this year and know we have a house full of stuff that could be sold. Have picked up some great tips on here this morning. hoping to put them in to practice over the next few days. Have never bought or sold on e-bay before but think I can manage after reading this thread
Count me in.

What you have discribed here is something i am seriously considering, ive been self employed before so know the basic's, the one thing im unsure of is when you buy your stock from a carboot, jumble sale ect you dont get a reciept, so how do you keep the taxman happy when it comes to proof of your outgoings in this respect? I did ask on the Ebay boards a few weeks ago but didnt get an answer
I Currently unemployed and would Love to start up my own small secondhand trading business, its just this small detail thats holding me backCan anyone here help ?
