I think thats a long way off! Or nearly a miracle as I dont make many!:o yet:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
PS Gizmo I hope your Safari was all, and more than you expected. I lived in Kenya as a child. We have magical cinie films now on DVD ready for the boys of those days.!
Yeah it was great even though it was rainy season at its best!Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -

I remember the monsoons, and we would have rain like stair rods, but then the sun would come out and you could actually see the ground drying, sizzling, before your eyes and then apart from the storm drains it was dry in a very short time.!
I have the family films of our "back yard" now put onto DVD ready for the boys, if we are allowed to. Our "back yard" was the masi Mara game park. We were there nearly every weekend it seems.
We saw every animal imaginable at the times. I loved the baby elephants the best. But we also went to a few rescue compounds and got up quite close and hands on with some tame wild animals!.
I rode on a cheeta when I was 4!:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Phew, what a day. I am just back home since 9.30am and I am worn to a frazzle.
Biggest of Mooloo's baby is Breech, with her legs up around her ears, and sitting quite comfortably the wrong way around. So the consultant has booked her in for Friday next week, to have a go at turning her around. There is a 50-50 chance it will work. If the baby gets distressed they will have to do a C section. Which is what she didnt want at all. (Well who would really).
I tried to be matter of fact about it but its a little worrying.
I have just realised that next Friday is Friday the 13th isnt it? Eeek
My Dad did his taxi service for me and took DS to his interview. He has a trial run tomorrow at 6.30 for this Pub in a village on the A5.
Not sure how he is expected to get there. I printed off the timetable for him, and Dad has given it to him.
He will need White Shirts, Black Trousers and Black shoes if he gets the job. So I have said to the twins that I will get them for him, if he wants me to, but it will be curtousy of Mr T or Mr Primarni.!
I didnt see him, got the info off of my Parents when I rang to tell them about Biggest.
DGD was a bit stroppy and had a hissy fit when I collected her from her Mum and her Aunty. But she is OK now we are home. Playing with water yet again.
Maybe she will be a marine biologist or something when she grows up.
Thats all I have to report today. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning, its very early, but I cannot sleep., Every two hours I wake up! I have been awake now since 5.10 so I gave up about 15 minutes or so ago and came down to make a cup of tea. Desided to move the washing on while I was at it.
I hve the washing line full, tht needs to come in still, and a mountain of wet washing ready to go out. But my arm was not playing ball yesterday evening, and I didnt managed to lift it high enough to get to the washing. It will be easier this morning. I hope,
BF is coming over here this weekend, around lunch today, so that I can put him to work finishing the loft ladder/hatch, and any other jobs around the house and garden that I remember needs to be done.
I think I will get the back of an envelope and start to scribble as I think.
(or as I move around from room to room)>
I was determind that I was going to use my sewing room, and around about 8.30 I think it was, I managed to get in there. I finished off the lining for the bag I had hand stitched last weekend. I also cut out two walking stick bags, a small handbag, outer and lining, a clutch type bag, out of the rest of the same patchwork fabric. Then I cut out four small tote bags out of a vynl tablecloth.
But that took me until 10.40 and my body had had enough bending over the table. I need to get the table height adjusted, either buy longer legs, or put the legs on something. BF suggested using a few tins. But I havent got Four the same height exactly in my cupboards at the minute. Will add them to my shopping list.
I still have the post office to go to to collect my parcels. So that has to be done before noon today.
I have my cup of tea, and my heatpad on my back, while I write this. Just going to check the very depleated bank balances and the emails hopefully DGD will sleep a while longer. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Will the table be sturdy enough if it is balanced on tins? It may be easier to have a look on ebay and see if there are any adjustable height tables. I found a couple that may be suitable.

Yes I had a lovely childhood. I was very lucky. (thats probably why I have had a challenging adult hood!!:D).
Biggest of Mooloo is now giving me something to focus on, and add to my worries! Bless her.
I havent heard from DS so I dont know about his clothes for this job or not. Fingers crossed he has the "gift" passed down to him and he is good at it. Biggest is a brilliant Bar Manager, but its not really what she wanted to do. Likes her weekends a bit too much. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I have stuck them onto my Watch List, and will be able to get back to them later. I need one that is around about the 87cm height which is about as high as my ironing board is.
But it will have to wait for a while, as the bank of mum overspent the last few weeks and my gas bill has just arrived! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Until you can afford to get a higher table, Mooloo - how about 4 bricks - one under each leg? Raises the height by about 4" - and they are solid too!0
