Mooloo's New Home, New Year and New Start part 3

I hope that your OK too? I know its been tough on you lately.
Yeah I'm good - been on holiday to Kenya (and safari) with the girls, bank account now bare but feel good.
Yes we have been taking pictures ever since they were taken into care. Although not every time. Alas Twin2's BF deleted a lot that she had taken on the iphone or what ever, that had been downloaded onto his phone. But I have a lot, not brilliant photos but I have regular ones and I will take the camera tomorrow. and Will make sure that Mum has her picture with the boys as well as DGD and myself, hopefully.
I am alas not a good photographer, but we will do our best.
I will now have to really sit and work on the Memory Boxes and the Life Story stuff, and see if we can give them the best information we can, and where to find us if they should want to when they are old enough.
They will want to find you but don't put any addresses etc in as the ywill be removed.
Make up some photo albums and maybe a little life story they can look back on - foster carers will do so also I will PM you a good example tomorrow.
Today we have been for our Spa Day. I had a complete body massage including a facial and head massage so I currently have oils working on my scalp and hair. Suggested I try to leave the products on over night to work best. Good job I wasnt planning on seeing anyone tonight.
Good news is that the cheque for the travel expenses from Dec and Jan/Feb has finally arrived. So I can put that back into the savings pot. (Ready to pay for the car to be serviced so we can stay on the road and safe.).Mooloo I am terribly sorry for you and your daughter. As you say, it has seemed inevitable for a long time but now the end of contact is hurtling towards you.
My 2 beautiful god-daughters are adopted, their mother was a drug addict and they were removed from absolute squalor (obviously worse than your daughter.) They both have 'life story books' with photos and details of their birth family-will your grandsons have anything like that? My gd's are 15 and 16 now and are very interested in contacting their mum (their father's are both dead from drug overdoses.) My best friend and her husband who have raised them have given them a lovely, happy life and they are both in Grammar school and thriving-but they still want to have contact with their mother and any other birth family as soon as social services will allow.
The boys choice at age 18 - however social networking has changed the whole annonymity of adoption,
I know it's little consolation to you or your daughter but the grounds for removal must have been strong if things were dealt with so quickly-when I was giving evidence in court in child cases I have sometimes been on call for up to a week whilst things are thrashed out.
This wasn't contested by twin2 for many reasons so nobody had to give evidence hence the short court time.
I hope and pray that your daughter finds a way to deal with this. Is she going to be offered any sort of counselling? Totally heart breaking for all involved.
Hopefully she will take all on offer
ETS Sorry, I didn't see the bits about memory boxes and life story books before I posted.
Like your freinds there are many good outcomes for adopted children and I am sure that the boys will be well looked after and loved, but research will show that they will never forget their birth family and one day Mooloo will find comfort in seeing how well they have turned out.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
Thanks all,
I am trying to think that they are "going to live abroad for a while, and I will catch up with them when they are older, or I could afford a trip!". The problems are heart breaking so I am not going to delve anymore. I will concentrate on making sure that the Mum gets what help we can muster for her. (Alas pretty sketchy around these parts).
DGD wants to know why we are seeing the boys "again" as she knew it was not the week too. I have started to tell her that they are going to be getting a new mummy and daddy to look after them, and then we wont be able to see them for a long long lime. ? But she will adjust too, she is young of course.
Biggest of Mooloo has to go to the hospital for a scan etc on Friday as the midwife is not happy with the measurement charts of the baby or the position of her, so I am going to go with her. She also now will need more help from her mum with the date of baby due in a few weeks now.
So there will be another baby to focus on I suppose. However that will not distract from my "boys".
I tried to explain things to someone the other day, about why I had one and not the others. I did point out that circumstances just happened that way, but when anylising it, I would sa that at least the Boys will have each other, to grow up with. If it had been the other way, DGD would have been all on her own.
We will do what we can, as I always have done, and the door will be open when the boys start to look.
Obviously if DGS1 starts to look at 18 then DGS2 will be only 15/16 so not sure how that will work out.?
Anyway I get to see them today, and so I better get my self organised, finish my cup of tea, take my shower, and sort out DGD.
I appreciate all the help, offers of support etc. I really do Know that without my MSE friends I would not have been very strong over the last 3 years at all.!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
PS Gizmo I hope your Safari was all, and more than you expected. I lived in Kenya as a child. We have magical cinie films now on DVD ready for the boys of those days.!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

What a sad time for you and their mum. I hope there's a family out there right now that wants to adopt two little brothers rather than just one little boy. Best wishes as always..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

We had a good meet with the boys. But was saddened to have the new schedule for access already given to us. We have only 5 meetings between now and my birthday in July. From July its only 1 visit a month until an adoptive family is found. (If there is not one already in the twintracking system that is.).
I had trouble holding it together for DD and DGD when I read a letter she wrote to the boys while waiting in the court on Tuesday.
I went to see my parents afterwards, and ended up having lunch with them and my Dad kept DGD occupied with toys etc while Mum and I discussed the situation, and bless my Mum she then went on into all the things that they did on holiday and all the sewing ideas etc that she had for me.
I have come home with a lovely set of fabric paint pens to add to my bits and bobs and ideas how to make our own stencils with my Slice Machine.
If only I would ever get the time organised to do anything.
Did I say last night, that my expenses cheque has finally arrived? Only 2 months late.
Just in time as the bank of mum was rather empty.
My back is not good after being so hands on with the boys this morning, and so I have to rest now and hope the tablets and the heatpads get to work soon so that the rest of my day is not ruined.
Both twins have now had trouble getting thier money. Twin2's hasnt been paid today.
DS has not signed on but has a job interview tomorrow that he wants me to take him to.
Which means he has to get there early as I have the hospital with Biggest Of Mooloo for a scan etc.
Right I must move a little bit and check on DGD she has gone quiet. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning,
Bit achey today, but thats not a big surprise after my driving and lifting the boys etc.
I have arranged for both twins to be around at lunchtime to do the Stay and Play and lunch for DGD while I take Biggest of Mooloo to the hospital.
My Dad has kindly stepped in and is dropping DS at an interview for a job in a pub.
I hope he is able to get some work, but it will be a miracle if he does in this day and age. But all I can do is wish him luck. Or he will be signing on, and the bank of Mum has closed again.
The taxcredits and Child benefits stop now, until my guardianship is sorted, then I have to get them for DGD. But until then we have a massive drop each week.
Oh well, I have lived on less before so I will just have to do it again.
But it doesnt help with my buying stuff on Ebay. (How many times have I told myself not to buy anymore material until I have used the stuff I have got??)
Right time to have a cup of tea, and some toast.
Then maybe read a chapter of the book about the Life Story Work for the boys. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
