Morning from a very stiff Mooloo!.
Too much bending, twisting and lifting yesterday. From playing bricks on the floor with the grandchildren in the morning, and picking up the glass in the evening. A long and busy sort of day.
Today I have no set plans. (except to excavate the area around the paddlingpool.), and to take up as much sewing parafinalia (spelling?), as I can and put it in the new dedicated room.! I still have to think about this one, as I have things on shelves under the stairs, that will probably have to stay on those shelves. Unless I get the shelves up into the room instead? mmmm measurements needed, and if I do, someone strong, I couldnt budge them. So it will have to wait until, a) the matteress is gone, and b) my BF is around.
Meanwhile I will just have to potter with what I already have.
I am hoping that I can use my ikea table in the centre of the room, so that i can walk around it for cutting out. But it is quite low, so I am thinking that I would like to see if Ikea do any longer legs for it. So I dont have to bend so much.? But I dont fancy ikea on a bank holiday weekend. So it will be another thing on the to do list.
Except I seem to have misplaced the envelope with my last todo list on!.
I am so disorganised these days.
DGD is still asleep. She was not sleeping until well after 9pm last night. Too light! I will also have to really think about her bedroom curtains being lined, and then some sort of curtain at the window on the stairs if I am to "con" her into sleeping.!
Mind you a first cup of tea with peace is lovely. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I have managed to clear the dining table end of the front room. Fold down the table, move some toys too, and hoover the floor, cos I could actually see it!
Time for a glass of water and a five minute rest before I get on and do anything else. The washing machine is on and will need emptying again. So I have a bag of laundry to hang out as well.
Once I get out there, I have to start to tackle the ground and search for anymore glass! eek.
BF's parents are coming down for the weekend, or at least today/tomorrow, but alas due to DGD and no space at his house I am not able to go. Well I was invited, but it would be a bit more difficult this end to get the care for DGD in perspective, so I have declined.
So I have the evening ahead to myself. Bit of catch up TV. Dont have any wine etc in, so unless I go out for anything else, its cups of tea/water for me. I really dont like the squashes much.
DGD is currently filling the newly found space with her toy cars!.
Actually feeling quite warm now, wonder what the temperature is out there? When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I took the empty washing powder box (80 wash one), into the garden, and the garden fork and started on the area where I found the glass last night. I have unearthed over a quarter of the box worth of broken glass, and 4 razor blades! I am not impressed.
I am sore, exhausted and struggling with the pain of the effort now. So sitting in the house with a heatpad on my lowerback, as hot as it will go!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Hope the heatpad is doing it's best but sorry that you have had to make yourself sore for something that should have been sorted prior to you moving in.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Molly has been over to visit me. She was impressed at the effort I had made in the setting up of my craft room since she was here on Wednesday. But appauled by the glass and razor blades in the box.
I shall empty and move the paddlingpool to further up the garden tonight.
Then will have to think of a way of cornering off the front of the garden so DGD doesnt play there, as Social and housing will be closed until Tuesday.
Not that they are prepared to do anything about it. Social wanted it done, but as I cannot find another contractor to do it, they have not acted.
I wont take it lying down though.
Although tonight thats probably all that I will be fit for, is lying down!
DGD is having her tea. But I am not particularly hungry at the moment.
I am a bit hot, with the heat pad, but its helping me.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Ask about the neighbours Mooloo, there is a man in our street who does a wee bit of gardening here and there for a bit of extra pin money, he has two big strapping boys who help out too; someone always knows someone (teenage boys usually) who's willing to do a bit of gardening work for some cash in hand. They don't need to landscape it for you, just get the blimmin' thing cleared. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Well I went out a little while ago, to let the paddling pool down and move the tarpauline to a more safe area in the garden. then I was just moving the gardening fork, and saw a bit of metal, so I turned over one more fork full and got 3 razor blades and several small pieces of glass. I am sure that there is masses more there, but DGD was coming back out and getting curious so I stopped. This is scarey. Very scarey.
I will not be able to let her go out there without me at all. I will have to watch her very carefully.
Thank goodness the centre of the garden looks reasonable, and we havent come across much since manageing to cut the grass there.
I was hoping to do some sewing tonight, but I am really just too tired.
BF has gone out with his family, so I better not ring him, in a restaurant. So I will not be saying good night to him which will be strnge. I cannot text as my phone is broken. Cannot send or receive messages until I can get to the shop to get it sorted out. But I am not good with crowds so dont want to attempt to go to town until after the bank holidays. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Morning, I had a rough night, not becuase of the heat, but becuase of my back and needing the loo! Lost count of how many times I woke up and looked at the clock!
I am still quite stiff and sore from yesterdays exercions. So I will have to be careful today. Not sure if I am to drive later or not, so must keep some of my "spoons" in reserve.
I may potter in my craft room, and move a few smaller bits in from the bedroom. Unless we are in the garden, then i have to watch DGD like a hawk!
Just incase. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo,
I'm sorry to read about your garden woes. I have had an idea re: the razor blades, cause there seems to be lots of these as well as the glass.
This may seem a bit off the wall, but do you know anyone with a metal detector or are you able to hire one? This way, the razor blades are found and disposed off. I know that leaves the problem with the glass, but the razor blades must be a real worry due to the thinness of them, they would be really easy to miss.
Hope you don't mind my suggestion. xx0 -
I think its a valid point. Think actually Molly's son may have one? I will ask her when I see her next.
I have managed with great difficulty to get the middle section grass cut. It was hard work for me, but I cannot afford to let it get high. I managed to break two pieces off of the lawnmower on stones that I didnt see. (Another reason to keep the dam stuff short.). Not that it is proper grass. Its rough stubbly Cooch? grass.
Anyway what ever it was, I have spent about an hour doing it. But now its done.
The paddling pool is up, and DGD has been in it a little bit but she wanted to come in, and as its the hieght of the day, for the sun, its a good idea to be in the shade. We have the back door open and the window in the front room. so we can have a bit of a breeze.
BF rang this morning, so I will be going to Oxford this evening. Which gives me time to rest, pack some clothes and drive down, hopefully in cooler weather as my car doesnt have airconditioning. Just windows! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
