I did a bit of decluttering this weekend though not much. Have sorted the document folders and have filled a box of papers to shred. DH is going to shred them all and then they will go in the recycling bin.
Went the second time through the bathroom and recycled a Lush Hat box as the stuff in that could be fitted in other boxes in the bathroom.
Decluttered the fridge
Submitted my Self Assessment
All the clothes for charity shop are in 3 bags just next to the main door so that I can put them in the car tomorrow

evening all,
only managed to get a mini declutter done today - cleared the rubbish out of two kitchen cupboards - still, every little helps!0 -
Evening....tomorrow i'm going to declutter big cupboard under stairs AND finish off from where i've left off today. I got rid of all Valentines, birthday cards bar 3 from my ex. (relationship ended 6 months ago) My daughter was saying don't read them you'll be upset but I wasn't and was glad i'd done it. Still am. I'm sure a pyschologist ( sp)would call this 'moving on'!! This is a huge step for me trust me. It feels bloody good! Feel like i've turned a corner. Maybe all this stuff about holding onto clutter and emotional reasons for it is true!!If music be the food of love then play on"No matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow". ღ ~Maya AngelouDoing it for my kids. Been feeling rubbish again today but just had a catch up - everyone is doing so well. Think of all those wonderfully tidy houses we're all going to have, the charities benefiting from our donations and the poor bin men getting rid of all our rubbish/recycling!
Mineallmine, thanks for your kind words about banks and mortgages, the stupid thing is we're in so much of a better position financially now than when we bought the house and yet because things have been tightened up so much it's a no go - really frustrating - just have to hope there is a buyer out there for our house soon.
So todays out are:
1. Used up bottle of Soap and Glory face scrub (in recycling)
2. New nail file found in drawer - going to work as the one on my desk was rubbish so threw it away the other week
3. Book sold on amazon (will post tomorrow)
4-8. ebay sales (will post tomorrow)
9. bag sold on another forum (will post tomorrow)
10. badges sold on another forum (will post tomorrow)
11. A few jiffy bags, envelopes and bubble wrap packaging above.
12. Pile of receipts shredded
13. Pile of bits on the settee put away/recycled
14. Chicken from freezer used for dinner
15. OH took some stuff on his desk out of the packaging and put all the bits in a little box and packaging in recycling
16. OH's Model that went wrong in bin
17. Cheque to pay in tomorrow that will finish a paying in book too
18. Just finally finished a S&G hand wash I got for Christmas a couple of years ago, prefer to use carex, bottle in recycling
19. Old plastic wallet lying on settee into the bin.
20. Wrapper OH had left on table into bin and a few other bits of recycling and rubbish like that, empty bottles etc into recycling.
Some are a bit tenuous but I made it to 20!
Then 7 more lots on ebay and a 2nd chance offer on something I sold today too to someone else. OH is going to bring some packaging materials home from work so I can post out a few more bits that I've sold online on another forum too so they'll be in then out.
So tomorrow I need to remember to take all these bits with me! Have a good week everyone.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

1.20 am - son returned from his gig, has to be up at 7 am. I realise that he hasn't put out the bulk rubbish due to be collected from 7 am (though it's usually lunchtime it's collected). It's only the other side of the garden fence but the rubbish collection guys won't move it from our garden. It's more than their job is worth, you know....
So...

If Batman was decluttering, that would be what it would sound like!
We've had a really busy weekend so no time to declutter or catch up with the thread. Why is it we can be so busy but still find time to create clutter?
Did give a big black bag of outgrown kid's clothes and books to friend. Bag's been hanging around for weeks so that will make a difference to my bedroom floor. Also put a curtain rail on freecycle that no one was interested in before. Got to keep trying - it will not go back into the loft!weaving through the chaos...0 -

to the right of the "Quote" button is a button with pink and orange speech bubbles. that's the multi quote button. just click that on the posts you want to quote from and they should come up when you post a reply

HI everybody,
this is my first ever post so excuse any mistakes.
:oI have a nice little house thats overflowing with junk and bits and pieces given to me by friends and family. I also live with a three hoarders, who are unwilling to part with things. My aim is to teach the young hoarders to declutter and have a massive spring clean, this year and if possible raise a few pennies in doing so. Keep thinking about a yard sale, or having a stall on a second hand market, any advice would be gratefully recieved .0
