  • Hey all,

Well, i still havent managed to put all the bits on ebay but in my defence i am waiting until saturday night as the auctions run for 7 days and sat/sun night is the busiest time on ebay. i find that when auctions end at this time they always go for something.
I have also listed the computer desk on freecycle so hopefully will be rid of that this week, and work have a room (literally) full of bits of computers that i have also put on freecycle.
GC is going well. i have a menu plan to use up all my stocks before i do a shop, so the kitchen is slowly looking less cluttered.
thats about all to report so far. :p

Well done everyone with their challenges.

3 boxes of baby clothes sold & collected today, must get on & list some more(10+ boxes & old toys & books!) then I can reclaim coat & shoe cupboard for coats & shoes - what a novelty that will be but it would declutter the hall where said items are currently languishing.

Will do some more shredding in a minute that will clear a small corner of the study - little & often definitely working for me

  • Hi all

Anyone mind if I join in? I've just decluttered a small bedside table to my local Charity shop that has recently opened; they were delighted!

Onwards and upwards. Now if only I can get on with the shredding (think boxes in the garage full of stuff) - perhaps lunch first me thinks.

    Ta ra

Ironing done, all washing put away. Me >>>>> :D
I have put 6 items of clothing in the recycling bin. 6 bits of miscellaneous carp from my bedroom gone :).
I have 5 items ironed and next to me awaiting photographing for ebay listing and 1 in the washing machine which I will hopefully list later.
I just need to figure out which evening to list on so that the items finish on Saturday/ Sunday evening. Do they still do 10 day listings? Off to have a little look see. I think I've worked it out as Thursday evening for Sunday so if I list stuff tonight then it would end on Friday evening. Would that work do you think? What soaps are on at what times on Friday? I'm working on Thursday night so I won't be able to list then hmm, decisions!

had a sort through a box of bits and bobs brought home from my late grandma's flat. it's lovely to have her photo albums, as my parents never took many photos. put the papers, documents, newpaper clippings, ration books etc with the box of my old school stuff I found the other week. some copies of birth/marriage/death certs that I'd got from DH's family went in there too.

still have several of Grandma's jewellery boxes and contents to dispose of...my sister wants to keep them, but she doesn't have room in her flat so I feel obliged to keep them. we've both already taken out any bits we would like to wear or keep for sentimental reasons. so I guess I'll have to talk to my sister about this again. also a box of slides and negatives, no idea what to do with them so the box went back on the shelf i'm afraid!
    weaving through the chaos...

Thank you for this - i just checked and you can choose either 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 days. I never realised this! I thought it was standard 7 days for an auction!! Damn. :o Now i have no excuse not to put them on before the weekend....
I think Sun night is the busiest time for ebay with most users online at that time, so i try and get them to either end sat or sun night. Good luck with yours!! :)

    Hi Phizzimum,
can understand totally how your feeling about jewellery, i lost my Mum ten weeks ago and have inherited her jewellery along with other things and its this that spurred me on to declutter, as in, i dont have the room to keep the important things without letting go of the rest. there is pieces of costume jewellery that didnt belong to her but various other relatives (which i am thinking of selling on a second hand stall) plus broken bits of gold that i have already cashed in and used the money (£200 voucher) to buy a nice bracelet and repair some broken pieces with memories.
Have started today with the 100 in 10 days so far its 4 bags of rubbish from the bathroom cupboard, kids rooms and kitchen.
(Mum will be smiling, always hated my cluttered house:))

If you need to prove your address/ID for anything you will need a recent bill or bank statement - bizarrely they won't take print outs of online bank statements but will sometimes ask you to fax them a copy of one you got in the post - very odd. So I'd get them for one account at least - even if it's just one little savings acccount that only produces one page a month. With online making things cheaper with things like electricity if the bank will send me them for free I'm keeping them for now.

Ahhh, yes - didn't think of that, thank you. I think I'll whittle them down to the last 12 months then operate a one-in-one-out policy thus in theory only ever having the last 12 months' statements! We'll see how long that lasts!
