I have sold about 11 items on Ebay and decluttered some of the shelves on our bookcase. I have used boxes (that would have otherwise gone in the bin) to box Ebay items.
I have about 2 bags of items (1 x bag of clothes and 1 x bag of teddies) for the charity shop by the front door ready to be taken there later. I've not done much but it's a little bit at a time.

I still haven't kept on top of doing a bit every day due to various reasons/excuses, but I did manage to start on 'the cupboard under the stairs'. Ours it accessed from the dining room/kitchen and we have hanging hooks, 2 shelves, 2 wire basket drawers and a 2 drawer metal filing cabinet which were all there when we moved in. It started off being a home for recipie books, shopping bags, paperwork and the hoover. It is now one of out many dumping grounds.
In there we have several of the large re-usable supermarket bags for the shopping, plus about a million carrier bags - as we don't get them from the supermarket I don't know where they've all come from! We do a lot of car boots during the year so I don't want to recycle them as I know we'll need them. Managed to sort those out and bin the holey/tatty ones, and got rid of a bit of paperwork, but still have quite a bit to go through. I do try to do this about every 6 months to keep on top of it. It's not finished in there yet, not by a long shot, but it's looking tidier already
Next job is to tidy up the deep windowsill in the living room. We found that our Xmas tree fits on there, freeing up space on the floor, but it meant that on 1st Dec it was clear apart from the tree and Xmas teddies. So why does it now have 2 boxes, plant buls, my new bathroom scales and random bits of paper all over it??
Right then, off to do 25 minutes worth of decluttering before getting the kiddiwinks from playgroup and school. Going to try really hard to get a lot done this weekendExtra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

afternoon all,
my goodness you have all been very busy! I have done zero decluttering this last few days as I've had a lot on with work and stuff for uni and have been too knackered to do anything else. I have manged to make a hit list of all the clutter spots that need tackled and aim to work through the list:
Bedroom 1
Wardrobes x2
Chest of drawers – top & contents
Underbed area
Bedroom 2
Top of drawers
Study (needs to be a bedroom in 10 weeks!!!)
Sort /pack/or rehome books
Clear floor
Remove shelves
Clear computer desk
Sell chair
Empty wardrobe
Ensuite
Window ledge
Bathroom
Cupboard
Windowsill
Living room
Coffee table drawers
Behind/under sofa
Sofas
Understairs cupboard
Declutter, tidy
Kitchen
9 cupboards left to declutter
5 drawers to declutter
worktops
Filing cabinet – declutter, sell & put necessary papers in box file
Kitchen table – clear and remind self what it actually looks like!
If I get through that lot I'll declutter a very nice bottle of merlot :rotfl:0 -

Have found two necklaces to add to the sell on Ebay pile. And another pretty necklace I'd forgotten I had, but will endeavour to wear this week! My weakness is definitely jewellery, only recently bought necklace, earrings and bracelets in the sales, but keep finding jewellery I bought ages ago and still haven't worn. Think a new project for me will be appreciating what I already have and getting rid of what I don't wear in the next couple of months.
Also found a stockpile of candles in a box in the bedroom, so have put a lovely scented one in the living room to light this evening. Still have another seven to use!
Final update later on, as this is my last day of the 10 days challenge. Not going to make 100 things (as watching a film with OH later), but at least it's more stuff out!0 -
I have recently moved into a new house, and its smaller then I was expecting really. It may have an extra bedroom, but i have lost a utility room and a dining room. Where I did my craft work. So I am going to have to declutter even more as there are boxes everywhere and no home for things. (Oh and the rooms are all smaller too!), No cupboards in the bathroom, or by the fireplace, and half the size kitchen!! Very EEK. So I need to get some inspiration from here, and start to rid myself of what I really do not need! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

Well I started this week OK.
Bag of odds & sods to CS & two single quilts & 4 pillowcases on Freecycle.
But then is slipped ....... 2 books from CS (two for the price of one) and a GORGEOUS pair of brand new M&S suede shoes at £7.00 with the £40.00 sticker still on them - I am a shoe girly (its like admitting AA!) & I promise I will get rid of at least one pair of shoes! I did clear out the cupboard in the utility of all the plastic bags that get stuffed there (how long does it take before anyone realises they take up far less room if folded?) They'll go up to the 'van to be used for rubbish bins when we're away.
I also picked up on one of the posts about finishing projects (thanx Shelleysue) so I've got on & made one arm cover for my settee - only 3 to go so should be able to get them done this weekend especially if its still raining
I havn't been counting my decluttering but everytime I look at this thread it makes me go & do a bit more - thanks everyone!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I've now begun decluttering my "stuff" at work. Car boot is now bursting with stuff to drop off to the charity shop tomorrow.
Who fancies getting rid of 50 things over the weekend? I need to focus on the lounge which is filling up with stuff. The forum is down tomorrow so we could report our successes on SundayDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
