The only thing that stays on my worktops is the kettle. Everything else is in the cupboards & drawers.

  • Didn't do quite as well as planned - but in my defence Castle with Marc Morris has been on the History channel this weekend, and that in my book is a must-see!
I HAVE managed to take the stuff to my dad's (plus a few other bits we dug out of the cupboard under the stairs), and the TV area is now cleared - we can kneel directly in front of it now instead of having to stop 3 feet away and operate at arms length:eek: I'm going to do another hour or so tonight, and then carry on tomorrow and Tuesday with the rest of the room.
And yes, I promise I'll be good in future and pick up after myself, instead of chucking my carp all over the nearest surface:rotfl:after all, the kids have to learn somehow:D

Had a big push on it Sunday evening and Monday morning, and there's actually 5 seats plus a large area of floor visible! Now need to buy a rug to cover all the stains on the carpet:eek: On the downside, everything is in boxes waiting to be sorted, so I'll be doing a minimum of one box a night until it's all sorted. Then to start on the kitchen so I've actually got room to make Christmas cakes, Christmas puddings, and mincemeat....

Over the last week or so I have decluttered my Kenwood Patissier, given to someone who will use it.

All my Remoska stuff, remoska and various extra pans and grill stand, all back to Lakeland who gave me the cash back for Remoska and a instore credit note for all the other bits and pieces.

Most of my other unused kitchen equipment, contraptions, pans etc are heading to ebay.

I gave a number of bags and boxes to the charity shop. This is just from the kitchen. Its getting there!

I have an extremely full bag of fabric stuffs awaiting the bag to school collection later on this month. It's sitting in the hallway. I also have all of our fruit and veg boxes in the hallway as he came while I was on the school run so I couldn't give him last weeks back. I would have left them out for him but it was pouring with rain. They'll be there until next week now :(.
I'm filling up with Christmas items too.
I am almost finished knitting my cardigan which will take that bag out of use and put it into my wardrobe. Once that's done, I'll be moving onto making some cuffs. I just need to get on with things rather than have the materials sitting around in preparation for these things!
Right, computer off and get on with it woman :)

Oh, I know it's a merged thread but on my kitchen surfaces I have, toaster (massive 4 slice thing which I hate and was delighted when I thought it broke a few weeks ago but DH fixed it :(), utensil pot, pasta jar, bottle of chillies, money tin, phone base, pretty tin which keeps little bits like icing bag, jelly bag and sweetcorn thingies), weighing scales, cafetiere, coffee machine, kenwood chef, decanter of raspberry vodka, kettle and food waste bin.
On the windowsill, I have, digital radio, tea/ coffee/ sugar cannisters a couple of plants and the (unused) water filter.
Oh the shame. I could get rid of the coffee things but would then never use them. Everything else is used too regularly to faff around with getting it in and out of cupboards or is just so darned pretty that I like it out :). The spaghetti jar I'm keeping because spaghetti doesn't fit front to back in our cupboards and I was fed up of it always raining out all over the floor when it would fall out of the cupboard.

Lyndy, don't forget Amazon and Music Magpie for selling the DVD's.

I haven't used Music Magpie before. Heard that you don't get a lot per disc...? I guess the bonus is not having to spend ages putting them all on ebay and all the posting etc. I don't suppose I'm really in it for the money (although it's always a bonus :D) just looking for more space.

However...I got home yesterday and discovered that OH (trying to be helpful) had put all the DVDs away in the box they came from so all mixed in with the DVDs we're keeping. I so rarely watch films again (unless they're real favourites) that I'd gladly get rid of so many more than OH will let me. Maybe having to go through the box again will flush out a few more!

I should have explained myself a bit better! If the price on Amazon isn't very good (by the time you've factored in time wrapping the items and going to the post office) then it might be worth looking at Music Magpie to see if they want them. :D

I managed to get rid of 3 carrier bags full of general rubbish yesterday and put some more items of clothing into the clothes recycling bag. It's overflowing and I can't wait for them to send the bags out.
Also decluttered the eggs, haf a bottle of oil a bag of flour and some sugar into some cakes yesterday. Loaves now in the freezer and cupcakes in the tin for school dinners.
Washing almost up together thankfully as I'm off to work for a run of 7 nights starting this evening. Wish me luck, that's 84 hours to work .

Not doing fab on the decluttering front this week, although I hope that a childless weekend (or most of weekend as no doubt the ex won't come for the DDs until Saturday afternoon) will see us getting on with a few things.

Single duvet set and a pair of jeans sold via facebook selling group for a decent price, so they're gone but have several other things listed and still have lots more to put on. Oh, it's free listings on ebay this weekend so I would imgaine we'll get a few things listed/re-listed.

I've been busy crafting so the dining room and table are covered in bits and pieces and there are boxes everywhere. I've recycled lots of empty packaging and off cuts from this, and hopefully I'll sell lots of things over the next few weeks via craft fairs, pamper evenings and facebook so that will clear some of my stock. I'm trying to use up what I've already got rather than buying more like I seem to be doing. Need to sort out a proper area for myself so I can leave stuff out without worrying it's in the way or that the kids will trash it.

Told the DD's we need to go through the playroom again and have a SERIOUS clear out, not just little piddly bits, but larger things that they know they won't play with again etc. Think if I reiterate the point that they get the money from selling their things it might help motivate them!

  • Not much happening here! Three Ebay parcels have been posted this week and a few out of date magazines have gone into the recycling. I will be listing at least 5 things on Ebay tomorrow, as well as relisting everything that didn't sell last time.

I have got behind with my Uni work, so I need to put some serious study time in this weekend, but will have a few 15 minute dashes round looking for stuff to get rid of!

I have also started my xmas shopping online, so the gifts will have to be stored in the spare room (of doom) on arrival. I also need to get some cellophane ordered for the hampers I'm planning, as well as a few more baskets, so I can see the spare room is going to look even worse over the next week or so!

I am annoyed that we have lived here for almost 4 years and the spare room is still looking terrible. We don't have a loft, so everything we 'might' need gets dumped in here. The room also doubles up as a guest and exercise room, so has a single bed and various exercise equipment.

OH wants to build cupboards along one wall to hide all of the junk, I think this will make the room too small! I have asked him to go through some boxes with me and see if there is anything that can go, but apparently that is too much trouble! Even though getting the materials and building the cupboard would be much more work!
