Thanks for the replies, taking a breather, have filled 2 black bags with kitchen rubbish, have found a hand held metal potato masher you put the pots into the centre and they come out in strings, no more lumpy mash, only trouble is Jamie Oliver told me to buy it (for the recipe) and have never ever used it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I have a toasted sandwich maker that is massive, never use it, so put that at the very back of the cupboard just in case;)
OH has just walked in the kitchen and said 'crickeys are you taking down the house, are we moving, where is everything?':rotfl:
I have the kettle, toaster, 4 ceramic canisters for coffee/tea/sugar/biscuits on the surface so far, 2 glass chopping boards, the saucepans hang up on a wooden frame but they are still on the surface, kitchen roll holder, half of the kenwood magi mix,(put the other half away in the cupboard, I only ever use one side of it have never made smoothies in it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
I have re- arranged many a cupboard to have everything easily accesible but in one draw for that specific reason so put away, maybe that will work better?
Ordered off ebay a spice rack that should tidy them up...
Have loads masses of tupperware, all different shapes and sizes maybe too many but they may come in handy:rotfl:
I know have a specific baking cupboard, a making meals cupboard (sauces, rice, pasta, mixes etc) above the microwave has always been the cereal cupboard with the tupperware containers, a cupboard for plates, cups, jug, bowls etc, a cupboard for all the oils/sugars/salts, condiments etc, then a cupboard full to the brim of spices(hence spice rack) picallilis, vinegar, tom sauce that type of stuff, then a draw full of tin foils, clingfilm, baking partchment...
I am getting there..0 -

Lyndy, don't forget Amazon and Music Magpie for selling the DVD's.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

DS's outgrown car seat -- someone was after one on Freegle because theirs had been nicked. I *think* that if I had washed the covers I could have got a tenner for it on eBay, but I'm just happy for it to go to a good home that's not this one.Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.0

in preparation for our kitchen makeover that OH and I have been planning for erm over a year, I boxed up some stuff we rarely used and put them in boxes in the front room....
8 months on I decided I had missed none of it and so went through the boxes and took some to charity some to tip. Then packed some more stuff in the boxes. At the rate our kitchen is taking, I should have lovely empty cupboards by the time it's done!!
Prior to that we dumped the george forman because it had lost its non-stick and I hated cleaning it and would rather clean the grill pan and some other bits.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

To be honest with you would not have a clue how to use it:rotfl:
I think I remember my OH saying to me when we bought it that he did not want baby food for his dinner(meaning pureed mash):rotfl::rotfl: never used it, still shiny:D0 -
I empathise, our kitchen is small and I remember walking in on moving-in day and thinking how great the empty work surfaces looked - a distant memory now! I have stuff that I use on a daily basis out on the work surfaces - inc a small bucket for cooking utensils (wooden spoons, spatulas, sieves etc), coffee, mug tree, radio, bread basket, toaster (chopping boards live behind the toaster) and microwave. I just got rid of the tumble dryer and bought a freestanding basket unot from IKEA and now all the additional stuff (blender, excess cans, mixer etc) live in there.
However, it seems I am the only person in the family who likes a clutter free existence and DH and DD regularly fill up the worktops with dirty teaspoons, tea bags, blenders, kitchen roll etc. Grrrr.
If you've never used something (despite Jamie's recomendation!!) get rid or sell on ebay
Have fun!0 -

Thanks for the inspiration YORKSHIRELASS (and OP). My DH gave up sugar 6 months ago so have banished sugar canisters (one for loose and 1 for sachets) to a cupboard this very afternoon!0 -
I have a kitchen with doors at both ends - a sort of galley kitchen but the doors aren't opposite each other. The left hand side has the microwave, breadmaker on top of microwave, petfood canisters next to breadmaker, bit of clear worktop before sink, pasta jar and basil plant on windowsill behind sink. Right hand side has kettle and cooker - full stop. So I have clutter on the left and clear space on the right. Well I managed to declutter of sorts but now driving myself crazy looking for things that were there yesterday but in a draw/cupboard today:rotfl::rotfl:
OH says it looks too clinical, the kids are moaning where has it all gone and I spend more time than necessary trying to find something:rotfl:
Never happy eh?:rotfl:
I guess I will have to get used to it, I even found an old cloth laundry bag, huge it is and put all the snacks/crisps in it and hang it up in the cupboard that has the ironing board/hoover etc in, oh the chaos this mornings for the packed lunches:rotfl:
It certainly is clean, sparse and loads of work space now:D0
