A wicker picnic hamper left the building on Sunday (friends who were staying loved it and took it!)

I have a new (to me) Kenwood chef as mine has broken. I'm hoping to get mine repaired as I know the motor's good. I had repaired it but must have not put it back toether properly because a bit snapped when I turned it on :(. Anyway, I digress :o that's my reason for keeping mine at present, it's nicer condition than the one I have from my Dad.
Need to get lots of stuff out. This house is very full! I have today bought 4 new wheeled holdalls ready for our holiday next year. They will be wrapped up ready for Christmas presents for the little people. I have hidden them in the loft. I need to get them to sort out the halloween stuff so it can be put away.
I have made some cakes which has decluttered a bag of beetroot, 6 carrots, 8 eggs, a bit of oil and some other ingredients :). I will work on decluttering them over the next few [STRIKE]minutes[/STRIKE] err, days :D.

Ive always felt that i had got too much stuff in my living room. It was hard to clean and i felt it was too closed in due to the size of the furniture we have got. I am proud to say, ive sorted that much stuff and thrown away such a lot out of the unit under the little window that ive bought a unit half the size to put whats left in.

This year my christmas tree isnt going to be squashed into the corner. I'd like to replace my two large leather settees next but thats going to have to wait till funds allow.

I've currently got 38 items listed on Ebay, two will sell so far.

Posted a DVD today that I sold on Amazon.

I have swapped over my winter and summer clothes and found four items of clothing to go to the charity shop.

I've also sorted through my jewellery making stuff. I haven't properly made anything for ages, so have decided to sell most of the beads. I am keeping the pliers and wire in case I need to repair my own jewellery. I can always buy some more beads later on, but I am saving up for an mp3 player at the moment, so anything not needed will be sold to raise funds for this.

Another 3 items will be gone tomorrow via local facebook selling page, but there will be several ins as it's DD1's 7th birthday eek! The packaging and wrapping will be out to the recycle bin which helps to balance it lol. Lots of food ins for a family party tea but hopefully that should all be decluttered by the end of the evening, plus the ingredients used up to makes buns etc!

I decluttered an empty plastic drinks bottle that fell out of the cupboard to the recycle bin. I realised we haven't used it in at least a year and someone had left the lid on so it smelt funny and I seem to remember it leaks. Really need to go through that cupboard properly as I'm sure there's plenty that can be recycled/donated in there.

We've had a bit of a blip the past couple of weeks for various reasons with regards to the evening meal so I've made a list of meals we all like and will buy the appropriate ingredients (after checking the cupboards!) and will make extra to freeze or for OH to take to work now it's getting colder. I'm going to see what I can make and bake to use up things from the cupboard before they go out of date, so I'll probably be posting on one of the other threads on here once I've listed what's in there!

  • I love reading this thread, it's reassuring to know I'm not alone in the war with clutter:D

I boxed up a couple of pretty vases and baskets yesterday along with some mint condition coffee table type books and took them along to a local charity warehouse.

I took the vases in with me and told the lady I had some nice books in the boot ready to donate. She didn't even come out to look at them, instead saying that they had too many books at the moment. I know what books they have on their shelves and believe me the books I had would outsell their tatty ones anyday. I left feeling really disappointed with the charity (took the vases with me!).

Ten minutes later and I had taken them to another charity shop who were very grateful for the donations, books and all. And I was grateful for my empty space at home:D

  • Gave approx 25 Barney videos to Oxfam today. They were bought from charity shops/car boots for DS1 by my parents when they looked after him. Now he's at school, I can't stand the little purple dinosaur so I'm not introducing DS2 to them, so they went. Pleased to find a charity shop that still welcomes videos.:j
Must get round to photographing some clothes for ebay. Tried yesterday but the batteries had died, so OH has to look out the charged ones.

  • It's the weekend, and my bin's just been emptied, so today's the day I attack the living room! We currently have 4 seats available (for 5 of us!) and only a narrow walkway through the rest - but my dad's taking a load of stuff from us to sell (village Xmas fete) and the rest is (brutally honest time!) my fault for being a lazy sod and not picking up after myself - can't even blame the kids for it this time! Still, by the end of the weekend, I should have a beautifully organised, decluttered living room that I'd be proud for anyone to see - and if I don't, I'll tell you guys and you can be as rude as you like:rotfl:
    Here's hoping...!

My living room is terrible as well, so will be tackling it today. I have just let it slip this week and haven't put things away. I also need to fit in some exercise and studying, so had better get off the computer soon!

Yesterday I took a black bag of clothes/books/crockery to the charity shop, it's nice to finally get some more things out of the house as I haven't done much clearing out lately.
