I find that whenever I need some motivation or a good kick up the bum, I look at pictures online of lovely clean, clutter-free, beautifully decorated rooms, then look around my messy bombsite to compare. The :eek: is usually enough to get me to throw a few things out at least!
I also think of good motivational clutter-quotes such as 'Don't have anything in your house that you don't know to be useful or believe to be beautiful'
Going to do some more in the bedroom today, will update on progress laster!D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -
Oh so glad I'm not the only one with a hoarder hubby! i can hardly move in our loft & he just doesn't believe that I've managed to count (where I can see!) 28 BOXES of magazines, plus 3 x 2 foot high piles of the things! We moved to our house 16 years ago & there are still unopened boxes labelled 'loft'0

I put more things on freecycle today & all but one thing has been requested/taken. The bins were emptied today & I've already half filled the recycling one, it doesn't get emptied again for 2 weeks though so I'm going to have to watch what else I put in there. Went through a big cupboard in the kitchen & have rehomed some things either through freecycle or the charity shop.0

Need to get back on the decluttering i think
Managed 185 things in the few weeks before Christmas which I was really happy with considering I was aiming for 100! Would have made sure I found 15 more to make 200 if I'd realised but I didn't tally up til after my deadline. Oh well!
Moving on the 1st July and I want to get rid of 500 things by then. Really shouldn't have this much stuff in a 1 bed flat! Where we move depends on jobs and I don't know whether we'll be able to afford the same size / a bigger place initially so it makes me a bit more keen to get rid now.
So far...
Passed on (sold, charity shops, friends etc): 6
Binned (or recycled): 23
Having to ration out the paper recycling though so a pile is still sitting in the flat as we share 1 small paper/card wheely bin between 6 flats0 -
Not really done anything today , my aim was the wardrobes and to go shopping, but when DH left with DS I decided to have a nap. 4 hours later I wake up oops . Well baby must have known I needed it as I managed to sleep . Just tided the kitchen . DH has extra partime work tonight leaving me to do nothing.
Im wondering if my bum will go either knumb or flat as all I have done is sit on it today
Scan tomorrow morning so no decluttering done till the afternoon. I will do those wardrobes tomorrowONE HOUSE , DS+ DD Missymoo Living a day at a time and getting through this mess you have created. One day life will have no choice but to be nice to me :rotfl:0 -
