Myself and DD2 have become the clutter bunnies!
:j:j:j
Have posted ten ebay parcels. Have compiled a further 28 bundles of stuff to list. I suppose it means the plastic boxes are still employed. There are 76 items!
DD2 and I did under her bed (its a cabin bed) out is an old school coat, three pairs of worn shoes to charity shop plus various toys - 47 items
some board games too, some old books- magazines puzzle books which have been completed.
A fish tank which dearly departed Bubbles recently vacated.:(
I will get ebay listing, cos when I go to the other house at the weekend I will have a mountain more to do!:T:T:T
Money and decluttering, a match made in heaven!:DTrying to shift that debt!0 -
DH went on a bit of a mission last night and decluttered the downstairs of the house. I'm not sure where he's hidden it all yet but it's a testament to our (my) efforts so far that he did it in an hour or so including cleaning, dusting, polishing and hoovering. Although he's still left cobwebs on the ceiling where he didn't hoover them off properly. I always miss them too, beggars won't stick to anything but the ceiling!
Anyway, he's filled a large charity sack full of paper and has finally put up our house number which has been there for years waiting to go up! It looks lovely too.
Unfortunately, I have gone along behind him and spoiled it all by doing the washing, drying and ironing and it looks a mess. Just stopping for a quick break and then going to put away the kids clothes. If I can get into their bedrooms without killing myself!
I will then be able to declutter my utility worktop by reassembling my newly painted sewing box as it's had a good week to dry so the paint should be hard enough now. I need to get one of the broken hinges off and attach a new one to it. Well, 4 new hinges needed actually. I can then declutter my sewing bits and bobs out of the boxes they're in and into the sewing basket which may take pride of place down my side of the sofa. I'm unsure where to put it yet.
I can then declutter some fabric and some wood by making my new blinds for the loo and utility and hopefully DH will put them straight up. They're going to look fabby! (I hope).
Some decluttering of the kitchen cupboards today when I do a bit more baking. Got some loaves of bread to make and some cakes as we're all out of cake. I do so love being able to whip up home made lovelies for my crew and can't wait for my new (to me) Kenwood chef to arrive from ebay. Just need to get a dough hook for it.
Was unwell from Sunday until this morning so did nothing apart from managing to make tea last night (delish, mackerel with gooseberry chutney, nomnomnom).
Have bought DH some fabulous pants from Asda today as he's down to 3 pairs. I don't remember throwing any pants away but lots of socks have gone recently. I always tell him when they go so that he can replace but clearly neither of us have noticed.
I also have an in of a box of 500 water balloons. It's going to be so much fun filling them up and unleashing the kids and all the neighbours kids on each other. May clear up some of the stink bombs they've been using recently!

Still need to take the charity bag. OH has accompanied me on the last couple of trips to town and I don't want him looking through the bag and taking things out, so I will take the bag when I am on my own! I don't really like being stealthy, but he keeps pretty much everything and he doesn't even like me giving my own stuff away!0 -
Finally found the declutter thread!! I used to post ages ago on the old thread but need to sort out the house again
Compared to most i really dont have a very cluttered house - but it is to me!! :-)
Recently i have decluttered the pile of paperwork in our lounge, sorted and cleaned out 2 of the main cupboards in the kitchen. Sorted out the messy drawer in the kitchen and OH has decluttered his underwearAlso decluttered the desk area and sorted out our stationery box
I am decluttering our CD's at present! About 50 of them to put on Music magpie in a sec and then ther rest to bin / ebay / take to charity shops!
Will be pleased when they have all gone! They have been in a pile in our lounge since before our wedding two months ago when i suddenly had the enthusiasm to start sorting them!!
Mini ongoing decluttering-- Meal plan using all bits that have been in the cupboard for ages!
- Using up toilettries - body lotions, hotel shampoo bottles and wearing perfume that isn't my fave so i usually avoid!
Next tasks -- Declutter the catalogue unit
- Declutter the medicine and snack cupboard in the kitchen
- SOrt and declutter the cups and glasses cupboards!!
The biggest task i am building up to is our loft!!! It will be the last task!!!
Good luck everyone -Orange Fairy

A slow declutter for me yesterday...
Put a rug on the charity shop pile, it is more of a token effort!
I am making a list, so shall be tackling more soon!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
I've made and sold 3 three tier nappy cakes this week which has used up quite a few things from my stash, and it also prompted me to reorganise the cupboard and it's all been condensed into less bags and boxes with plenty of packaging out for recycling. Because of lots of car expenses over the past few months, an upcoming family holiday and a new direct debit for the facias, soffits and guttering we had done a couple of months ago we're really short on funds - that short I've had to make withdrawls from 2 of my regular savings accounts
I really, REALLY need to get some stuff listed on ebay, but am holding out for a free listing weekend.
Our girls will be staying with their dad for the 1st week of the summer hols, and with my parents for 5 days in the 4th week and I'm determind to make sure I actually do get on and clean/sort/tidy the house and chuck/sell/donate lots of things. What with worrying about the money side of things the untidiness of the house is starting to get me down againThe living room is looking better, and the play room did improve, but now the conservatory is full of stuff, the playroom is starting to go that way too. We could really do with some storage solutions that cost us very little, ideally free! Will have a look on freecycle later I guess. At least over the summer I won't be paying for gym and dance clubs after school, occassional school dinners and pre-school top up fees and if the girls are away for almost 2 weeks our expenditure will go right down. Ooops, sorry, most of that had nothing to do with decluttering!

That's what I do too! I find it makes it easier to know where to start and to remember all the things I want to do. It also feels very satisfying when you can cross off lots of little jobs. If I just list rooms they would never get crossed off as I wouldn't get everything done at one timeExtra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000
