That's what I do too! I find it makes it easier to know where to start and to remember all the things I want to do. It also feels very satisfying when you can cross off lots of little jobs. If I just list rooms they would never get crossed off as I wouldn't get everything done at one time

Haven't been on here for a while but back again, the house is looking a lot less cluttered, but now DS wants to do a car boot and I am struggling to find enough things plus I'd rather put more on Ebay as our Car boot you're lucky to get more that £1 for most things.
Out:
2 carrier bags full of carrier bags to recycling
box of 10 DVD's to Music Magpie
In:
Nothing
Pending:
3 Ebay parcels
1 bag Ebay clothes- waiting for buyer to collect0 -
Im going to make a list too! I made one yesterday for cleaning up the living room... just so I can tick things off. Worked a treat.
I know where needs doing next, its just actually doing it.
Dont you find that the ebay thing while being a way of de cluttering is also a source of clutter...
1. Identify the ebay thing... put it in a pile to photograph... 2. Photograph it, put it in a pile to list. 3. List it put it in a pile and see if it sells.
Just a thought. But I love it me, money for old rope, and I have some nice plastic boxes to stack each phase in!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Went on a trip to Ikea yesterday! I love Ikea almost as much as I love storage solutions. :rotfl:
Came back with:- Loads of white DVD boxes for our DVD collection.
- A new laundry basket (our old whicker basket was horrid, so this one is nice and sleek and white with a lid).
- A Helmer drawer unit for our "bits" from Warhammer (our third Helmer - love them!).
- Glass bottles for oils in the kitchen - I hate the nasty plastic ones.
- Some other bits for me and the kitchen, fabric, salt mill, tea towels and some slippers for 50p!
So today I will be:-
[STRIKE]
- Sorting DVD's into the new boxes (and making the boxes).[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE] - Decanting the oils[/STRIKE] and trying to throw away some kitchen bits.
- Making the Helmer unit
- Tidying my own Helmer unit
[STRIKE] - Making the new laundry basket.[/STRIKE]
So much to do this weekend, I've got a new job starting on Monday in London (Junior Fashion Photographer - woohoo!) so three months of unemployment is coming to an end, and the house isn't decluttered!
Maybe I can pay someone to do it for me with my new wages. :rotfl:0 -

I have written a list of all the declutter areas broken down into tasks - like particular cupboards in the kitchen etc. I plan to work through this list!!
Here's to getting everything sorted!!That's what I do too! I find it makes it easier to know where to start and to remember all the things I want to do. It also feels very satisfying when you can cross off lots of little jobs. If I just list rooms they would never get crossed off as I wouldn't get everything done at one timeMe three! I love making lists (more than doing the tasks!), but have never really made a list for decluttering before, just didn't occur to me! I generally just wander round the house looking for places to declutter with no plan in mind! Thanks ladies, I will make a list later!
I have had some more in's as my grandparents have downsized to a bungalow and are clearing a lot out. I have been given a pyrex round dish, two lovely ceramic roast dishes, a photo frame and a black bag of car boot stuff (think Mum is doing a car boot sale, so she can have this!)
I am going to do a mini challenge over the weekend - cleaning and decluttering the dreaded cupboardunderthesink in the kitchen (I have to say it fast or I will be too scared to do it!) it's full of cleaning stuff/rags/odd socks and random things I don't know what to do with! So it will be sparkling and organised by Sunday evening! I will also look for 25 more items to go into the charity bag.0 -
I got a little bit stressed on Wednesday about finances and had a bit of a cry in bed. Yesterday evening OH starts taking Blu-Rays off the bookcases and asked me if there were any I really wanted to keep (all ones we've watched before) and announced he's going to sell them whilst prices are still quite high (the ones he'd been selling before were all repeats he got when he bought lots of bulk lots from ebay as they were cheap) and we can always buy them again in the future when prices have come down if we really wanted to. And I didn't even drop hints he should sell them, think the penny dropped about our lack of cash (I sort the finances in our house) and he's trying to do his bit
So not only will we have some more cash it'll declutter the shelves too
As I type it's chucking it down here in Lincoln and OH announced yesterday that he'd like us to do a car boot tomorrow....wonder how that's going to work out! Actually, as long as it stops soon and the ground dries out we should be ok as a local school is having it's annual car boot sale so we don't have to fenture too far and it won't be as expensive as the one we usually go to. Will hopefully be able to sell lots and lots of bits and pieces yayFeeling a bit better about things now, especially as I finished my online marking last night
Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

Blitzed my utility room today, including our larder cupboard, which was out of control with junk. Lovely and tidy and organised now, however I am coveting some new Lakeland lock n lock type storage tubs and wish someone who is on the team doing the IKEA catalogue room sets could just come and do the room like a page out of the book. :cool:0

Morning everyone,
I've been missing in action. Lots of stuff going on.
We need a new bathroom (unplanned aaarrrgh) but managed to clear a path way through the house for the guy to come and quote! So that's positive in a way!
But stuff has definitely built up again. I can see lots of other challenges (for July) (and undersinks stuff). Who's up for a mini one this weekend?
The weather is nice so if you make if your garage or shed or sit outside sorting a box that's all cool.
I'm going to aim for 25 things to go this weekendDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
