3 boxes unpacked and homes found for contents and one bag has gone to the charity shop - yay!

Shattered now - time for a well earned brew.
  • A major in to report - OH has been fuming for ages now about the computer crashing just as he finished an hour of photo editing, so yesterday we invested in a new one:eek:. Problem is, the old one works fine for me so I want to keep it for my own use, so we now have a huge relocation project - the new one's going where the sewing machine and all the related gubbins live, so I now need to move his CDs to there, and the sewing machine etc to here! Not sure how long this'll take, as this week's busy anyway with the wedding, plus DS1 (14) intercepted a flying log at school on Friday so I need to sort that out with them on Monday. Could be an entertaining week:rotfl:

Last weekend I was away for a hen weekend so didn't do anything with the house. Yesterday I washed a couple of machine so now the wash basket is nearly empty. Another load is in the machine this morning. It's going to be a really warm day here.

Yesterday I unpacked a couple of boxes after the move and will continue to do this today. On the 10/7 my mum and sister is coming to stay with us for a week so I want the house to look ok which means that I want all the boxes unpacked apart from the books since we want to buy a new bookcase before we put them up.

    Have a great weekend.

More in than out at the moment, as I'm safeguarding some of my dad's stuff until after his move (money, important documents), plus I've brought back a pile of old paperwork including payslips, (although he retired 19 yrs ago), and really old energy bills. I will have to go through it all to check if there's anything important amongst it, and then I will shred/recycle all the crap. Also brought his bedding and some other stuff round to wash, and a single bed which he won't be using, which we will use in our spare room. Unfortunately we still have the old double bed in there so it's a bit cluttered in there again at the moment, hopefully get it sorted in the week.

We have taken a couple of storage units round to his new flat, so we have a bit more space in the shed, where they have been stored for a few years, and I will be making some curtains and cushions for him so that will get rid of a bit of clutter too. I will be glad when he is settled in the new flat and then I can get back to concentrating on my own home.

A couple of carrier bags collected up and slung from my bedroom. Am really fed up of nobody picking up their washing so I've kicked it all out of the bathroom and they can pick up their own blimmin clothes when the get home this evening. They wear them, I wash them dry them and sort them so I don't think it's too much to ask a 7, 9 and 34 year old to do to put away their own clothes and bring down their dirty stuff.
Have got lots of stuff to go in the loft but I need to finish the washing of the sleeping bags before I can send DH up there.
I also need to get the tent out to clean it and dry it thoroughly but it keeps raining. Yesterday morning qould have been ideal for drying it off but DH has put it in the shed already which means it's probably going to stay in there until next year!
My hallway has filled up with everyones rubbish again so I need to crack the whip and get rid of all of that stuff. It's golf clubs and scooters and it's everywhere. Wahhhhhhhhhh!

Managed to sell 1 item on ebay this weekend! Ah well its one less. Goit quite a few things I need to photograph & put on next time theres a free listing. DH is ploughing on with the alterations for our woodburner but the dust & grit gets everywhere so I'm not particularly motivated at the moment apart from making a menu plan & trying to put things away when I've finished with them. All I've been doing is buying tester pots for my Mood Board - any suggestions what to do with the colours I dont want?
Incidentaly does anyone know the best way to get fine cat hairs from the carpet. Our lovely long haired mog leaves a trail from her tummy when she goes up & down the stairs & as they're from her tum they are particularly fine. The hoover picks up most but I can still see them glinting in the sunshine!!! I dont mind doing it by hand if someone can give me some pointers (no I'm not really that fussy - I always say you can write in the dust but please dont date it!)
Ah well - off to feed the brute now. I 'spose that's a bit of decluttering too the amount he eats!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Been waiting a fortnight and at last...the recycling bin gets emptied tomorrow! And I've got a big pile of paper and boxes to de-clutter when it's empty.

Is it bad that I get excited about bin day so I can re-fill the bin again? :rotfl:

Hope everyone is well, weesmiler xx

How about sellotape to get rid of the cat hair from the carpet? I have been getting loads of cat hair off my carpet by using the carpet to make my masking tape low tack tape. It has the added bonus of removing cat hair :).
I have decluttered a tin of white satin wood paint. It has already been replaced though.
Also out, 2 bags of bread flour and some self raising flour. UU some cranberries making tea loaf the other night so had to open a new bag this evening when I was cooking.
DS said to me earlier "Mum since you've redone the kitchen, you're doing lots more cooking in it. It's good :)". I explained to him that I had tons of stuff which wasn't needed and that Daddy and I were a bit skint at the moment so it was time to start using the food we have got here rather than buying it and paying money to store it. He seemed to get that idea quite well.
I have to look up some recipes to use up some other stuff like maize meal and some little brown beans. If I don't, they'll never get used.
Have given DH a shopping list for Asda. Hopefully he will stick to it. I would have gone but he needed petrol so I said he could get the shopping whilst he was there to save me having to go too.
