I am a little concerned that clearing off the tops of the cupboards will expose the cobwebs. The size of the cobweb in my bathroom is dreadful. Even DH is scared of the size of that spider- it's massive!
Kaz - My DH reckons all spiders are girls 'cos the first thing they do when they move in is put up net curtains! :rotfl:
A tip I was given was to put newspaper on the top of your cupboards after they've been cleaned then the next time(next time???) all you have to do is put new sheets up there. I must admit I havn't got round to that stage yet - its only been about 3 years:eek:
I've managed to get rid of some tights & stockings on eBay (strange - all the buyers were men:o ) I'll have a look & see what else I can list this weekend & maybe get some dosh - especially for stuff thats been lurking for a few years!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I lined the top of the cupboards with Santa's wrapping paper this time. I wasn't able to before because we finished the kitchen in the very early hours of Christmas eve morning a few years ago. Then by the time we were done with Christmas, everything like panetone and tins of sweets got put up there. I've used Santa's paper because we can't use it for anything else as the kids will say "That's the same paper that Father Christmas uses. He's not real is he?!" Decluttered OH yesterday (back today sadly:)) and was amazed how much I got done with him out of the way! More of a motivation problem really - why should I do anything round the house while he sits on the computer all day? So yesterday I managed to:
Declutter partially the kitchen worksurfaces - I can actually dish up dinner in one place now!
Wash the kitchen floor
Clean the bathroom - all except the bath which I really couldn't face!
Dodge the showers and get 2 loads of washing dry on the line
Make and ice a cake
Plus feeding the kids (which he normally does cos I get bored with cooking!) and completely finish ALL the washing up!
Anyone else have this problem? Think I'll be telling him to go trainspotting more often:rotfl:0 -
Haven't posted for over a month. Went on holiday at the end of May. Did a great tidy up of the house before I went away. Had a lovely, relaxing break and it was really nice to come back to a clean and tidy house.
I am embarrassed to say that within a few weeks it's looking like a bomb has hit it again. Every surface is covered with something that shouldn't be there - including an ironing board that has become a semi-permanent fixture in the kitchen and is being used as a form of side-table. Shame on me I was doing so well a while back
So this weekend I must, must, must tidy up. :AHave nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

Afternoon all
I used to post in here frequently, then got bogged down. But am ready to start anew!
Today I've had a charity bag collected containing a dozen videos, a couple of small toys and some books. Oh, and a keyring!
I've labelled up 150 items to try and sell them at a NCT nearly new sale this weekend - would love to get rid of half of them (more if poss!) Lots priced at 50p just to try and get rid of it. Some stuff will be ebayed if unsold, some charity shopped.
My house is just cluttered with stuff everywhere and sooooooo untidyI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Hi everyone,
I have de-cluttered a few bags of stuff today, as it's my niece's and step-sister's birthdays, so their gifts are finally out of my way.
Also got a small tv, dvd player and 2 lamps to take to the dump on Sunday.
Kitchen is a bit emptier, as I've eaten a lot of chocolate this week. I've decided not to buy any more chocolate or biccies, to save some ££s and some lbs!
Slowly getting through some toiletries, can't wait to get some bottles recycled!!

Out of 180 items listed on ebay, I sold only 19, but they did include 4 N64 games, a big box PC game and a CD box-set in a big box, so I managed to empty 1 of my ebay storage boxes, and the other items will be re-listed over the weekend. I’ve posted 17 of the items, (which means another 15 jiffy bags and some parcel wrapping paper have also gone) but still waiting on payment for the other two, so they will probably not get posted until Tuesday, as I won’t have time before then.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs
