23 items listed on ebay and 1 large bag to the cs!As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0

Me, me , me!!! Let me join in the get rid of 10 items challenge!
I have already have got two bags of "stuff" ready to go to the charity shop. I have also put a few things on Freecycle.
Loads more to do though...Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
We've had an IN today. I was given a set of Ikea leksvik bookshelves by a kind neighbour as she had decluttered lots of books but was unable to sell the bookcase. She caught me before half term to say that I could have it if I could home it but we were decorating so didn't have space at that time. I have seen her today for the first time in absolutely aaaaaaages and said if she still had it, I would be very grateful for them. DH and I carted it over earlier and it fits perfectly where I was going to put a dresser. It comes up to dresser height and has quite widely spaced shelves. My sewing machine fits perfectly on the bottom shelf and the box with my WIP's fits next to it. It doesn't look very pretty though so I need to work that out. Perhaps by covering the boxes with some nice fabric or paper. Or I can try to see if I can get doors for the bottom half to turn it into a dresser unit. I have just seen one on ebay which has doors and it is far better than their version of the dresser.
Will try more decluttering this weekend but not sure how I'll get on with that.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
I've responded to the challenge already and am completely
kna-k-r-d . My sister came last monday and stayed for the week and we cleared out my kitchen and utility room - formerly boxes and cupboards of elderly food (I am an appalling hoarder) . We threw away 15 bags of out of date food (hangs head in DEEP shame - the oldest thing was BBE 1995 ) and lots of smelly old Tupperware boxes without lids or lids without boxes, and 2 big boxes of stuff to CS.
I can only do it when my kind big sister comes to help, but this morning we ate breakfast at the kitchen table which has been buried in 'stuff' for years. Oh VERY happy but I spent all this am asleep ! :j0 -

Has anyone here actually managed to reach a point where they've got rid of all of their clutter???
Because for me it seems to be an endless battle!
I'm not quite there, but I am almost at a point where I wouldn't be totally mortified if I had unexpected visitors, and cleaning is getting a lot easier as not so much to move before I can do it.
Having said that, MIL has said she may visit tomorrow, as she and her partner are going to look at a bungalow nearby, and I'm not sure I'm ready for that, as I would like the house to be perfect before she comes round. Not that she would criticize (she's lovely, and her house isn't perfect either) but I would criticize myself for it being less than perfect! Going to visit DS in the morning, and may not be back in time for her to visit, so hopefully I'll get away with it, lol!
Yesterday I posted 5 ebay parcels, including a pair of shoes in a shoe box, which have been on top of my wardrobe for years and have never been worn, as they hurt my feet! Today I cleaned the bathroom, and finished yet another bottle of cleaning liquid and recycled the bottle, all recycling taken to recycling centre this morning, and I've just listed 40 items on ebay, more to put on tomorrow if I have time.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Hmm, I guess I hit the mark today because I posted 12 ebay items, but family and taxi-ing children around took a huge unexpected chunk of afternoon out.
Sorted through a huge box of CD's, am ready to double efforts tomorrow, 20 things out and at leat 10 on ebay.DC.

OUT:
- a lot of ice from the freezer
- my spatula because I snapped the blade digging out some ice from around the pipes in the freezer:o
- the washing up bowl because I banged it against the wall over the drain to get rid of the ice chunks inside and smashed the corner off:o:o
Note to self, defrost sooner :rotfl:I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

I thought it was only me did that! Is there anyone else who only has a hairdryer for defrosting freezers?
Additional job for the next week - defrost the fridge and freezers:)0
