I'm in seeing as I'v just had a charity bag put through the door.
And I'v been going through the cd's and dvd's [all freebie's from paper]
OUT
4 CD's
8 Dvd's
And that's just going through 1 pile of stuff, got another 2 to go:eek:
Our local charity shop sells those "freebie" DVDs - when I last checked they had hardly any - so they're popular!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

I read this and persuaded DH to go to the recycling centre - we looked like hillbillies as the 'stuff' had almost taken over by the back door :
2 sacks of tetra-packs,
a dead pedal bin (metal skip)
2 dead IKEA standard lamps (they seem to have a limited life & can't be repaired
a bag of garden stuff from November:o
the bits from the boiler Homeserve left behind
a split washing up bowl etc etc
If I get a wiggle on we can make it to the charity shop with the collection from the last 2 months
It's got to be 20 items worth all togetherDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

This week I finally sorted the pile of paperwork which was on the dining chair (been there a few weeks, but forgot it was there until I pulled the chair out earlier in the week, lol!), most of it has been shredded/recycled. I've put two boxes (which contain paperwork/software from both our computers, and were stored beside the computer desk) in the spare room until I have time to get the contents sorted. I put some old batteries in the recycling box at work, OH took the rest of the recycling to recycling centre this morning, and I've sorted out another bag of old Christmas/birthday cards, and put most of them out for recycling.
Posted a small ebay parcel earlier in the week, only some postcards but every little helps, and I've also got bids on 2 other items which finish on Wednesday. Finally sorted out my used stamps ready to be sent to charity, hopefully I'll get them put in the post box tomorrow and they will be out of the way.
I'm out tonight, but count me in for the mini challenge, I'll see what I can find tomorrow, good luck everyone!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Well we will be joining in with a massive declutter. Have arranged fo free loft insulation through British Gas offer. NOw have to clear 20years of hoarding by a week on Monday. First attack will be tomorrow.
Plan is to empty a section and organise into tip, charity shop, ebay and keep. Hopefully we will be ruthless and only stuff like xmas tree will remain!GC 2024 £1445.91/£3000

.....If I get a wiggle on we can make it to the charity shop with the collection from the last 2 months
Well I wiggled - DH set off with the bits & pieces, then I found the bag of carrier bags to donate, all neatly sorted into size & folded ready. Oh well, ready for next time!

Haven't been on for a while but thought I'd stop by. Finally went through the bathroom bits and pieces (we have loads) that I promised to do about this time last year on this thread! Quite a bit chucked out and discovered some new toothbrushes, soap etc. that I had forgotten about so have made the cupboards a lot tidier. Also did DD's bedroom (been expecting some drawers from Very since january) and she's really pleased with it. Lots of her clothes to take to the boot sale this year and a few to list on ebay.
Kitchen surfaces still heaped with junk and paperwork so must attend to those soon. Some of the bits in my ironing piles haven't moved for well over 6 monthsso that's another 'must do' soon.
DD has her 3rd birthday in a week or two and been trying to find my boys old shopping trolley toy in the shed. Found the base but can't for the life of me see the basket so planning to declutter the shed next friday if nothing else comes up.
My house is still a tip but I'm making small inroads here and there. Onwards and upwards...Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Have been very quiet because my sister came to stay and we 'did' my 'study' which was just heaps of papers and books and had acquired mice. We spent 5 days doing it (EXHAUSTING) but:
* burnt lots of stuff that went back about 3 years and was waiting to be shredded
* took 2 bags to CS
* 4 bags to tip
* OH's vast (37")TV gone to a happy Freecycler (nothing wrong with it he just wanted a flatscreen so he dumped it in my 'study' and it just sat there glowering at us.)
*Room now only half full of neat storage boxes with contents labelled so I can go through them one at a time.
*All mice apparently gone (no nasty nests, they seem to have been coming in through an airbrick - but we did start off wearing rubber gloves in case  )
* bought electronic mouse scarer which is reassuringly winking at me as I type
* feel much less depressed and 'Where do I start' about it all
*got on much better with sister than for several years
* she has offered to come again in April and help me 'do' kitchen
Moral: Never turn down the offer of a helping hand ! And the support from all the friends on here who are an inspiration and a huge help - knowing that other people struggle too is really heartening, thank you everyone :T :T :T :T:T0 -
Sold an old coat on Ebay today. Bin liner filled with shredded paperwork gone to be recycled. Car boot filled with rubbish from loft and taken to tip - hardly a dent on the loft though. This could be slow and painful!GC 2024 £1445.91/£3000
