  • Not much decluttering from me today, just recluttering oops only went to the shops to buy some new rugby boots for ds and ended up with a few bits of clothes for dd that I couldn't resist. My mum has given me 2 new roasting dishes she got cheap so I have thrown out my old battered one, right off to fill a bag for charity shop to make up for the bought items! X

Had another couple of busy days de-cluttering and organising

    So far i have....
cleared out a few more old baby clothes - some for charity some for friends
finished sorting my wardrobe - another bag of clothes to go to charity shop on monday, all clothes re-hung and folded neatly
got rid of some old pillows
got rid of old broken tv
moved side table to ds's bedroom to use as bed side table instead of buying new one for him
gave some baby toiletries to my friend
bought some new cushion covers and re-used old cushions instead of buying both
have been given fluffy blanket for my bed in exchange for some clothes
got new lamp for landing only cost £2.99 in sale

I'm almost finished getting rid of my old stuff, just need to finish organising what i have. Unfortunately the next phase includes spending money as i'll be getting new bedding, new dining set and cuttlery and few other things so i'll have to start saving. Really pleased with what i've achieved in the last few weeks, i go it in to my head when we had kids that i wanted to move and started really dis-liking my house, but since i've started de-cluttering and getting my rooms in order the more i'm starting to enjoy my house again.

No decluttering for me today :( 'cos I did an urgent MS on top of my scheduled one (little bit more in the pot) & by the time I got home after doing some shopping & uploaded all my results DH had poured me a glass of Sangria (God I love that man) & decided we'll have Mr M's Indian tonight. I did dive under my PC desk yesterday & reorganise all the accessories (might have a bit for ebay) which meant I could move some stuff off my desk & it looks a lot neater.
Tomorrow's weather doesn't look too good here so I'm going to H&D the bedrooms & give the 'little loo' a good go!

Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • After a slow day I have done a megablitz and cleared 1 bag of rubbish from upstairs, decluttered my windowsill, got together 1 box of bits for CS and recycled a pile of junk mail from porch.

I will enjoy my Indian takeaway much better now I have done something constructive, have had a headache for 3 days now that started off as a migraine and now just won't shift so everything is a big effort for me at the moment!

Today's small declutter - box of chai teabags and fabric conditioner I didn't like to daughter. Green cord winter jacket, barely worn, to daughter. Three books, to daughter, grand-daughter and grandson. Paint by numbers kit that I forgot to give grand-daughter for Christmas - she has it now!

If you are thinking that my daughter and her family are wonderful aides to my decluttering, you'd be right!

:) Glad you feel that way, I loved our house when we moved in last Feb and I'm finding that as we go along and get each little bit cleared, tidied, sorted and decluttered again I'm loving it even more -helps make the effort feel worthwhile :)

Going to relist the bits that didn't sell last free listing day on ebay tomorrow/Sunday and will hopefully have got my finger out and taken some photos of a few other things too.

OH reminded me last night that some friends are coming round for a Chinese tomorrow night so we need to make sure the living room, dining room/kitchen, hallway and bathroom are all habitable lol. All I need to do in the bathroom is clean it (again! - why can't it just be done on the 1st of the month and last till the next?!) and the hallway is ok apart from a couple of pairs of shoes and needing a sweep. The only problem is that OH's work has a stock take soon and they've asked everyone to go in tomorrow morning. He'll be paided double time but I'll have to do most of the 'sprucing up' myself.

  • Had to go to the delivery office today to pick up a parcel, there's an Oxfam book bin just around the corner so I took two full carrier bags of ones that had no interest on eBay with me and dropped those off. Parcel was a Peroni glass for DH - he got one for Christmas and loves it, picked up a spare cheap on eBay. No nicking from the pub! :rotfl:

Going to take a look through everything this weekend to see what else can be listed. They're sure doing a lot of free listing days at the moment. Great for us who are decluttering though! :D
  • Just decluttered and cleaned the bathroom. Bought two new lamps for the bedroom yesterday so all the packing put in the recycling.

Still things that need doing in each room so hoping for fresh enthusiasm after having a break and reading "No more clutter"
  • ok i have a few INs to report after my trip to ikea but they have ALL assisted with my decluttering (loosely)
    - 2 large picture frames, which i have now put the two glued puzzles in that i finished ages ago and have been lying in the dining room waiting for a frame.
    - 1 new saucepan, which has replaced the one i have now thrown away.
    - 1 plastic tray for kitchen cupboard, so i could put all baking ingredients together and pull the tray out whenever i am cooking something. this allowed me to empty the cupboard removing 1 empty brown sauce bottle and 1 empty lea & perrins bottle into recycling, and 1 container full of icing which had gone very hard...
    - 1 wardrobe tidy for DS wardrobe, which i installed yesterday and removed 6 toys for car boot sale
    - 1 steel magnetic strip for kitchen to hold up knives as i am fed up of the knife block getting in the way/dirty/reachable by little hands.

SO, i did deviate from my original list, but i did quite well i think. opted out of the casserole dish as i have bought a Slow cooker, and OH was moaning at the price of cutlery so didnt get any of that either.
    :)
