The Great Declutter Part 3 - 2011

Feeling quite chuffed with myself today. Have moved the rabbits cage from the floor which had boxes stacked on top
The poor things weren't getting enough fuss as it meant getting down on the floor to see to them.
Now they're on the worktop in the window by the back door My son is loving being able to see them easily and I wont have to worry about my sister's dog going mad when she sees them.
Brought an underused chest of drawers down from upstairs to put in the cage's place and a couple of big platic boxes to put the towels in (these were stacked on the worktop before)XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Reshelved the books in the attic. Filled one bin bag full of rubbish, another for the CS and a third passed onto a friend last night.
Still haven't found my new bedding I bought years ago and decided to save for "best" - I've decided I'm worth the best everyday. So if you were a king size duvet cover were would you be hiding in my house?0 -
Hi everybody
I haven't done very much the last few days, although study still looking a bit better - can see a bit more of the floor :rotfl:A whole huge bag of papers etc mostly from there have been burnt and also cleared a small bag of gubbins from my chest of drawers. (toiletry type stuff). yesterday managed to add an old irrelevant manual to the bin.
We did get rid of an old Freeview box via freecycle but this has been replaced with DH's old playstation from his parents home. At least it's not too big, and there's not many games.
I'd put a mattress protector in the charity bag and then had the bright idea of trying it on the log burner outside, fits perfectly :j
OH has some magasines to offer on freecycle, and has added one old PC game to the CS (he bought a new one this week so that's keeping numbers the same at least)..
tomorrow general rubbish & recycling to go :j

I thought I was the only one who said that! The rest of the family look at me very strangely when I say it...also when I start calling whatever's gone missing as if it were a cat!:rotfl:
Hope it turns up soon for you.
Glad to report the bins have just been emptied so I can continue the declutter - DS2 has just decluttered chicken pox, but DS3 looks like coming down with them now, so I'll be tied to the house for a while longer. No excuses possible! Living room and kitchen next on the list :eek:0 -

Might it have eloped with the odd socks?:D
I have exactly the same problem: a double bed sized vintage cover is somewhere in the flat. I thought I knew where it was and am sure I packed it when I moved in 2001. Can I find it? No. Do I have someone that wants to buy it? YES:mad:

Had a good day yesterday, the girlies and I tidied the living room. We had a bag each for rubbish and recycling, a box for things that belonged in the playroom and I made a pile of things to be taken upstairs. I didn't think it was so bad in there, but once we'd finished I couldn't believe we'd filled the box, it amazes me how the little bits the girls bring through add up, even though we usually have a rule of putting away before getting something new out.
We also headed upstairs and went through their drawers, even though we only did it in the Xmas hols. Still managed to find a couple of DD1's tops to put away from DD2, and 6 of DD2's tops that she's grown out of. I also got on with the washing up instead of leaving it all until the end of the day and not wanting to do it lol. Even though we have a (slimline) dishwasher it amazes me the amount of stuff I still need to wash up in the sink. All the worktops had a good clean and it now looks lovelyExtra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

Would you believe this? We have used exactly 5Litres of paint to decorate our dining room. So no ar5e ends of paint tins hanging around and one used up paint tin ready for the bin next week.
DH has just got a little bit of filling and stuff to do tonight whilst I paint the coving white. Hopefully he'll then paint the skirting boards while I'm doing that (he can follow me around the room surely?!). I really desperately want to do the wallpapering tomorrow because it won't take long at all and then it's done and we can put the room back together.
I will be listing everything that's not nailed down on ebay this weekend. If I get a free minute later on, I shall upload the listings and then let them go live in the morning.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Still putting things in the huge rubbish bag I started to fill at the beginning of the week. I now have a clean dining room and sitting room. The hallway/stairs/landing in now clear just sat in the kitchen waiting for the hall floor to dry. Upstairs is still a tip so will move up there later today or over the weekend will see if my back holds out.
Well done everyone. We will have lovely decluttered homes to welcome in the spring. (that is my aim!)
