So it's not only me who morbidly worries about how embarrassing it would be if I died and someone had to sort through my stuff. Another thought that worries me is what if there was a fire and the firemen had to come in to try and out it out and saw clutter everywhere, or if they has to sort through the wreckage to find the cause of the fire and were just disgusted by all the clutter! I don't find these thoughts as bad anymore now I'm down to a more respectable level of clutter but they have been one of the things that have helped motivate me to get my house sorted!
:) Thanks for that, FelinePrincess, it's a great comfort to know that I'm not the only one. ;) It's like the joke about the Police being called to your home and thinking it'd been ransacked by burglars and it always looked like that. Perhaps I'm just weird but I live alone (praise be) and worry about dying and being eaten by the cats or the dogs. I haven't even GOT cats and dogs btw and there are so many people calling/ texting/ emailing or popping in that if I'm away from my usual haunts I'm missed and chased up withn the hour.......

:D Mind you, I never claimed to be entirely sane!

:) Not good, not good, but very very pleasing. Just nipped out to the 99p Store and found they had Bonne Maman three fruits marmalade. It's tasty but I won't pay the asking price (£2+ normally) but the deal-maker for me is the darling jars with their red and white gingham lids. And now I have 5 more (and they're loaded). Happiness, happiness, but I will grab a carrier bag and de-junk 5 items for the c.s. to make up for the sinning.......honest!

Well done Bonsibabe, thanks for lovely, motivational postings others too. What a great bunch you are.
I mentioned my Eureka moment in the charity shop earlier, well, I've had another.

I've got quite bad arthritis, but I do work full-time, mostly from home.

I've got a cleaner who comes in now and again, it should be weekly but it's not through an agency so she fits me in when she can.

My son refuses to store clothes in his room :( so they are in storage in the lounge. :( .. sigh.

He went through his clothing storage earlier and there was a huge pile of my clothing in there.
I'd put it to one side for ironing a while ago and for some reason best known to herself the cleaner had put it in with his.
To be fair at a quick glance you couldn't say that it was girly stuff.
Now the thing is, I hadn't really missed any of the things specifically. :o:o
That to me, indicates I have too many clothes.:o:o:o
Time to stop buying and start sorting.....

    :) OK, I know 5 pots of marmalade in darling jars I'll never throw away was naughty but I've scared up the following to go to the C.S. to make up for it;

    1. Aerosol of fabric treatment, unused.

    2. Paperback book.

    3. Another paperback book.

    4. 10 unused CD cases still in their shrinkwrap.

    5. Several CDs.

There, 5 in and 5 out, although not from the same part of the flat, does that count ? (anxiously)

I could lose the salad spinner which would mean half the top shelf of one kitchen cabinet was free and could have the jamjars in.

I'd say that does count, but in the spirit of de-cluttering you should lose the salad spinner aswel! Unless of course you use it regularly that is :)

Forgot to mention earlier that I sorted out 2 of my make up bags (I have 3 and I don't even wear make up most days!) and got rid of about 20-30 empty, dried up or unwanted items and a vanity case. The remaining make up from them 2 bags is now in one bag which is my 'to use up bag' - I really don't know why I have so many lip glosses, or why I kept completely used up lipsticks!
  • Auctions finished last night on ebay so got rid of most of them and those that haven't sold have gone into the carboot bag. Also, a friend of mine is doing a stall for Womens Aid in a few weeks and has asked for bric a brac so thats more clutter out of the way! MIL has just given us a hoover she bought and has used twice but doesnt like because it is too heavy! This has been greatly received as i was getting fed up of having to stop every two mins to put the foot back on our hoover. it is a snazzy vax worth £160!! and is meant for houses with allergies/pets so we should be cat fur free for 5mins lol. It will be interesting if not mildly disgusting to see how much dirt comes out of the carpets first use bearing in mind i hoovered whole house yesterday with old hoover but it is pretty old now. hmmmm......just packaging up ebay items for trip to PO tomorrow.

How has everyone else's weekend gone? its been sooo windy our fence has completely blown down (call to estate agents tomorrow...)
