6. 8 three-tape VHS boxes of Angel, to be watched prior to donating to CS
7. half a dozen DVDs, to be watched prior to selling/donating
It's a dirty job, innit, but someone's gotta do it....
Ah... that reminds me.
Watch the last DVD of the last series of Angel and the episode where they all become Muppet like characters. Try and resist the temptation to watch the whole series again:D
ETA: Realise I may fail really badly at that challenge.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Still decluttering away and feeling good about it.
65 In the last few days I've managed to sort through, shred and recycle lots of piles of papers, newspapers and magazines.
66 I also have 12 books for the charity shop, but know I have others that I could give away if I'm ruthless.
A fair number of items have been taken down to the cellar.
67 I have a winter coat and
68 a winter jacket that no longer fit me,so they'll go too to the CS.
I'm off the weekend,so mean to carry on sorting through my books.
ETA I'd love to join in the 'under the stairs' challenge, but live on one level,so I'll be with you in spirit!0 -

If the books are fairly new and in good condition have you thought of using amazon? you add the books to your inventory and then when someone chooses your book they send you the details. They then pay into your bank account within a week or so. They do take a % obv but its less than ebay. of course if you want rid asap then ebay is probably the better option.
Thanks for the tipSome of them are just novels I just want to get rid of so will stick with ebay for them but there a few which are worth a bit more so will put them on amazon
Good to see everyone still doing well.
Not a productive de-cluttering today as this morning a huuuuuuge box with 6 large wicker baskets in it arrived. The baskets are to go at the bottom of our wardrobes as we have 2 triple wardrobe which have a long shelf across the bottom to keep shoes on but it's not very practical to reach the ones at the back or organise them properly so the baskets are making things much easier. Along with the baskets came a mountain of bubble wrap which I'll keep to use for ebay parcels but it it's annoying as it's taking up lots of value-able living room space! Nothing out for me today but we are going to put the 2nd coat of paint on the ceiling tonight so one stop closer to having a home I'm not completely ashamed of!0 -
I think I need to join here and aim to make 2011 the year we finally clear the clutter. If we don't start clearing some of our 'stuff' we''ll need to buy a bigger house - lol!
All hints/tips/moral support welcome:D
Welcome PaddyPaws! Something that has helped keep me going over the long 2 years of de-cluttering my over stuffed house is to keep in mind my goal - a tidy, redecorated house which isn't an obstacle course. Sometimes it seems like even though you are getting rid of stuff your getting no where but my goal of having a home to be proud of keeps my from drowning under my own clutter.
Good luck!0 -

Wow you have a cellar - totally cool! We had one of them when I was a kiddie and it was crammed with stuff! Well, I don't have a loft either (I have loft envy of people who do) or a cellar, so my cupboard under the stairs (which is full height and about the size of a small loo room) bears the weight of all my 'hmmm' stuff! I took a pic of it tonight and am umming and ahhing whether to post it to motivate me for the weekend (or shame me into dealing with it!)
Maybe you could tackle the cupboard under the sink instead......:DLess stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
I've decluttered 3 drawers today, omg what a load of crap has been chucked:eek::eek:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Thank you FelinePrincess, it just seems a bit overwhelming at the moment. I'm trying to break it down into small tasks so that I don't give up before I've even got started. I've got an extra incentive at the moment as I have some relatives coming to visit in about 4 weeks and I don't want to feel embarassed about my home being a tip.
I'd join the weekend challenge but, such a shame, I'm going away with the girls for the weekend - will think of you all whilst I'm relaxing by a roaring log fire, gossiping with my friends:p0 -
Hi all...wow you are all doing amazingly!! I would really love to do weekend challenge but I'm away as ex has kids here (soooo annoying......far too nice to him!). Anyhow i'm going to carry on starting from Monday. As my house is (on the surface lol) fairly clean and tidy i'm going to start room by room again and see what else can go. My cousin is staying next weekend (11th) and really want to get on top of it all. Going to start with the kitchen which shouldn't take long as all cupboards sorted just got a unit to go through. Going to that 'Swedish' home place on Sat to buy some dvd and cd boxes. Then going through big cupboard understairs. This is my Monday challenge!! Good luck over weekend all. Have a good one. xxxxIf music be the food of love then play on"No matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow". ღ ~Maya AngelouDoing it for my kids. For a better secure life. x0

well i'm certainly up for the challenge ... hubby was a soldier for 11 years and since we came home almost 3 years ago we haven't had a proper declutter so i'm definitely up for this! I am going to start tomorrow as i have to go to bed (work tomorrow lol). but i have managed to register for the army version of e bay as i have some school jumpers that i no longer need so will list them tomorrow night in the hope that i can get rid of them and hopefully get some cash in the process. even if its just a few quid i'll be happy ... it will be added to the decorating pot ... plus hubby has a load of kit he bought that we no longer need so we may be able to get rid of them quite quickly but some will have to go on fleabay lol ... must go to bed ... will make more plans and see if i manage to clear at least 10 items tomorrow lolLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:
