Yes thats one of theirs, phone number goers to answer phone, which they don't respond to.

I would 99% say that the phone number has only been added to comply with trading standards etc and they know people are onto them. Whether or not someone has to pick it up is properly a different matter.

The ringer is most properly turned off so Damon can concentrate cleaning bad press up on the internet.

Remember these people / company are professional crooks, they know all the loops holes and short cuts to take people’s money and not pay it back. I’m sure they will be opening up under a different name very soon.

Have read the whole of this with interest, being a wine maker myself. Firstly, to all those who are trying to get their money back, I really hope you do. I have had professional experience with companys who operate in a similar manner, and once things start to get hot, they simply shut up shop and start again under a different name. There seems to be very little in legislation to prevent this, maybe its time to start lobbying MP's. (am dealing with the fall out of something similar to this at work at the moment - the sale of services rather than goods. Company has failed to provide the service, no answer to emails and phone messages. Similar to this bunch of cowboys, they have already ceased trading under other names and have other companies registered).

I have used an ebay shop with a similar name to 'the-online-homebrew-company.co.uk' who have been excellent and would hate for them to loose trade due to this bunch of cowboys. They have an address and phone number in a different area to 'the-online-homebrew-company' and I would highly recommend them.

Thank you for highlighting this [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] and good luck with your refunds!
  • I too have read all of these posts with interest. I have been fairly wary of the company of late due to the too good to be true offers and their number of orders left fluctuating up and down also no one seems to use their forum much these days!
I didnt realise so many people had been so badly done to with this company. And appreciate it being flagged up!
I have been using them for a couple of years now and have placed 6 orders. All have arrived quickly (even an unusual make of wine kit that they surely would not stock)
I have only had one issue of a bad kit and I used their online contact form. I was offered a refund and I am pleased to report it was put into my account the same day. So nothing bad to report from me.

I really do hope that you unlucky people get your orders or your money back. This bad service is apalling. Oh and worryingly I didnt realise they had been trading under a different name in the past. hmmm
