I would urge those who have purchased via debit card not to feel too silly
Until you mentioned it I didn't !
I'm confident we could have any number of credit cards should we want them,we don't.
Perhaps I've been lucky buying online, but I've dealt with several companies and recieved splendid service. In fairness this company were pretty good for some time it's only recently I've had trouble.
I will consider all the advice given here as the good folk clearly have far more experience. Sadly I'm old school and perhaps rather too trusting.:embarasse
Still haven't had my refund promised by email on 15th
Hi Macma... I'm sorry it came out worded like that :silenced: ... I was just honestly trying to undo some of the consternation spun by the recent debit vs credit posts.
Regardless of what is right & wrong, it has (also) not always been high in my mind as to which card I pay online with...
The fact that my credit card provider currently gives me back 0.5% of anything I spend on it has been the ensuring factor in using it with these jokers...(meaning I might have otherwise been feeling a bit "silly" too)... Alike you, I had no prior idea (largely thanks to TP) that they were such a shower... Oh, for the benefit of foresight...
As for your refund, they do claim they need 10 days (others forumites have waited MUCH longer, but HAVE actually received theirs in the end)...
Just on the basis that they might have lied about your refund, please keep badgering them with emails until they (hopefully) cave in just to get you off your back. Threaten them with everything that you can think of until (with luck) they consider diverting what finances they still have available in your direction (if they haven't already done so)... Although, as we have seen... this carries no guarantee of success.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you (and all other forum members in the same boat)... :wave:0 -
I just had a look on Google maps. They do look like a small outfit. Not at all what you'd expect from the impression their website gives you. When you search on google their tag line says `Europes largest homebrew beer and winemaking website & forum'. What a joke. I suppose that `largest website' doesn't actually mean anything, anyone can list items they don't actually have. Ferrari anyone, it's on a limited special offer, only £100, cheapest in the country, I'll deliver it next day, promise ;o)
They still won't reply to me about my refund. I'm phoning Trading Standards tomorrow. I phoned my bank today and I'm in the process of trying to do a charge back.
I am busy with work and a long commute during the week. I could so do without chasing up these cowboys for my money. I just hope they don't close the company down and disappear with all of our money.
I'm tempted to go and knock very loudly on their door myself while I know they are still there !!0 -
wish I could phone our bank it's Barclays and I can't work out which dept and they are all calls which are charged
'have tried the "contact us" route but it just sends you round in circles. We will try to visit the branch but I'm aggorophobic and visits to town are somewhat trying .
Oh blimey it all adds to the fun eh NOT !:(0 -
I'm with Barclays too. I phoned them from work today. So I didn't need to worry about being charged for the phone call. They dealt with me pretty quickly. They said they would post me a form to fill out. In the mean time they have suspended the transaction so I don't get charged interest on it.0

I just got an email from TP
The validation code has apparently been activated again. We are currently in contact with the owner of the company, and demanding him to change the validation code is deactivated, so within a day or two, you can log on to the review site with your order number, requiring a validation code is no longer acceptable in our system.
I hope you understand the situation, and have a little patience with editing your review. I promise you that within a very short time, you will be able to edit and review the company again.
Please write me if you have any questions.
All the best,
Kasper
So, it seems that they are doing away with the validation codes. This system was doing as much harm to their reputation as it was to the companies that are getting reviewed.
As it happens anyway, I edited my review a few days ago and still no reply from Mr. Damon. considering he said it was a fraudulent review I am surprised !0
