when I read silly things I will respond to those silly things and again try to point out the obvious that people seem to think doesnt apply to them and that is always use a credit card.

This thread if you had taken the time to read it is not only about people getting ripped off, a large chunk of it applies to TOHC's way they have abused their ratings system on TP by only sending out codes to leave reviews to customers they presume will be happy.Hence beefing up there ratings, which then looks good ready for a new batch of customers.
If this thread saves only a few people the hassle of dealing with this company then you must agree it is worth it.

Great if you have paid by credit card but someone is still getting ripped off if the credit card company does not get their money back.

bigger jugs is a great company. They do ebay and I have had several orders from them and all delivered in perfect condition and also very promptly. I hate to see good companies being mixed into this thread, which is/was all about one very bad online company. Re credit cards, it is very obvious that people should use them for online ordering and then request a chargeback if goods are not received, the banks will then do something about this bad group if enough complaints are made to them.

johnnyboyrebel, the use of the word "simples", the reference to chargebacks and also the reference on how easy you found it to obtain details leads me to believe you are a younger, more savey person than some of us older mugs.

Feel free to help us out if you can with advice, but do understand that some people have already been to the address of this company and found no one there. Understand that when you phone you get an answering machine. Emails do not get answered. If you ask too difficult a question on their own forums then your post just gets deleted rather than dealt with.

Also understand that this company has a reputation for folding, leaving people, banks and buisnesses out of pocket and then reopening. They hide this fact as much as possible just as they do with their bad feedback by threatening legal acton to anyone that allows this sort of stuff to be posted.

None of us that have had dealings with this company expects these posts to stay on MSE long, but we are glad to have at least some voice for a short while to warn and vent.

I think you will find that you are in the Praise, Vents & Warnings area of the MSE forum. What did you expect?

I think your advice is fine though when worded correctly...

No one using any other means than a credit card should even consider purchasing from this company. So no debit cards ect, or you may well lose your money.

No one who thinks that they might want to communicate with this company if things do not go to plan should consider ordering.

No one that does not understand how a chargeback works should consider using this company.

Everyone who considers using this company should expect that they may have to phone their bank and ask for a chargeback, if you are not expecting to do this then do not use this company.

A bad move when shopping online. Just pay it off at the end of the month and noone should have an issue owing a credit card.
  • LOL at the reply "we are not psychic". Neither are their customers apparently and had no way of knowing how rubbish they were at providing anything that resembled a service.

The attitude of "remove bad threads, our customers need to be psychic" is the running theme at TOHC HQ it seems.
  • I always use Balliihoo Homebrew for all my jam making, and homebrew supplies, very honest, reliable, prompt replies to enquiries etc! By the sound of it the complete opposite to this other company!!!

I know they sell on Amazon as thats where I first found them, they have a great rating on there aswell! balliihoo.co.uk sorry it wont let me tag it!
