    Just saw this too

    • the arrangements for delivery or performance of the
service, for example when consumers can expect delivery
of the goods or the service to start. The contract should
be performed within 30 days unless the parties agree to a
    different period

*edit* I suppose the small print would get them out of this.
  • Hi, I can say for absolute certain that Biggerjugs are based in Watford and do all their own despatches. I don't work for them but pop in to their warehouse quite often as they are close to where I work.

I'll drop them an email to see if they are aware that they are being linked on here with other companies.

Going by what Baliihoo says they have no choice in the matter. It's not like Ebay where every single product has its own selling page, more that the item has 1 page and anyone selling it joins that page.

Baliihoo, please accept my apology for associating you with this shower.
  • if i were you i would try and talk to amazon about it.people are going to think you are linked

Just to back up Ballihoo's promise that they are not linked, I have just tried to leave a negative Amazon review on the item I purchased directly from the OHBC (as listed on Amazon but clearly marked supplied by the OHBC) ...
I did this in such a manner that were the OHBC tempted to complain about it, Amazon would have noted my recommendation within it that Amazon check out all the links (MSE included) documenting the nature of this bunch of crooks, and therefore consider banning them from their respectable shopfront....
As you can imagine my review really slated the company, although then when I viewed it later (my negative review), it was linked to the same product being sold by a completely different company (which I believe was a "Quay Side Homebrew", or similar).
This not only confirms that all of the homebrew sellers seem to get mixed & matched on Amazon, but also (rather disappointingly) confirms the difficulty in leaving negative Amazon reviews solely as concerns products sold by the OHBC.
Not wishing to slate a completely innocent party, I quickly deleted the review...
It looks like trying to get our point about via Amazon is a bit of a non-starter.... :(
  • It does seem that OHBC look to have the review process on any site well and truly stitched up and massively in their favour.
  • @ Walp. On Amazon you can review the item and the specific seller.

You can leave a review on an item at any time even if you've not bought it through Amazon but I think you can only review a seller if you've bought from them.
  • Update:

I used their online form to cancel my order on Sunday. No response at all, then a note waiting for me tonight to say that they have part shipped the order (two out of four items, 40% of the value)

I'm in two minds about this - one part's happy that something is arriving; the other part would rather they refunded my cash and moved on. My other concern is that I might now be in permanent limbo.

However, all in all, what I want is the kits, so I suppose I should feel some joy at the progress. My chosen course of action is wait for the lot to arrive, brew it, drink it all in one evening and thus stop caring about Brew it Yourself.

And, in a shock result, my trustpilot review (in the name of VK) is back up and readable...
  • I've still not had my refund for The Online Homebrew Company. I waited a month for my goods. Cancelled and have been waiting another month for my money back. I'm getting on the phone to Essex trading standards tomorrow.

By the way. Online Homebrew Co. are on Twitter. Feel free to bash away :o)

If that had been me I would have told them to poke the lot but if you can get half your order then fair play, just keep ontop of them for the refund of the other half.

Oh and also make sure you leave a TP review :)

Dont forget about the "Online Homebrew Forum" TP page, anyone can leave a review on this.
