  • they appear to stock only the most popular items, so when anyone just orders those, the order is depatched straight away as they have the stock in. However, the less popular lines they need to get sufficient interest before they order the line.

I think you maybe right, I also believe(hope) this to be the case. The frustrating part is that all items show as in stock(although I did check the other day and certain items showed as 22nd Feb)when they clearly were not.
I would have been more than happy if they just contacted me (by phone) explaining any issues with stock and I would have happily exchanged for items that they did have, just this little bit of customer service would no doubt have stopped all this going on and kept most customers happy.

But if their only supplier refuses to supply them, where will they get their stock? This could be the last chance saloon for them. Its a shame, because what could have been a great business has turned to c**p because of poor management.
  • Now if only they could see that.

It also concerns me that the offer of stock+£1 is not a viable level of profit. If I sell a good wine kit that should make me a nett £20 profit at a price that makes me £1.00 nett profit I have got to do!more that 20 times the work (and overheads etc) to simply stand still. My feeling is that they want to drive all of the other local and online homebrew shops out of busines so that they own the industry (like Amazon are doing with book shops). Then watch what happens to prices!! We will have nowhere else to go !!

Well judging on the feedback Trading Standards have given the OHBC may not be around much longer.

And even if they pop up again under a different name potential customers stand a chance of finding this thread and making the connection. Mind you.. where they get their stock from will be a challenge for them.

Still waiting for my refund... working day 21....

I have just had a very good conversation with Mr J Ritchie of Ritchie Supplies.
I advised him of the issues I have faced and of others and he has given me his personal email address to send full details, which I will.

He said they would be looking into it as they supply a large number of other companies and he didn't want bad press to be reflected on his company. I hope they act on it and they should. They are obviously a good company which supplies a large number of other good companies, it's not fair they should be tarnished by one supplying bad trader.

Why not give Mr Ritchies a call on 01283 564 161 and do the same.
I don't want anyone to be having to go through what I had to!

It appears that the company is now replying to the negative feedback on Trustpilot.

    Bit late now!!

Just had this mail from Trust Pilot, hopefully they will pull the plug on them...

    support@trustpilot.com
Thank you for your help so far in the matter of the-online-homebrew-company.co.uk

We are currently investigating the company and were wondering if you would assist us further with a copy of your order confirmation, alternatively, forwarding the email so it clearly shows ‘sender’ and ‘receiver’ (e.g. screenshots)?

Thank you very much for your help.

Yeah just noticed that, why not just say sorry for letting customers down. And admit mistakes have been made.
Like I posted earlier if they had bothered to phone me up when things were out of stock I would gladly have changed my order for things they did have..

I tried getting them to send out things they had, problem is they all individually keep going in and out of stock!
