Currys & PC World don't want my custom

I tried to buy a double door fridge freezer from Currys. I actually got as far as paying for it and having delivered. Problem came at that point as there are six steps down to my front door. Can't go down the steps we don't have the right trolley, elf & safety etc. Well how about taking it round the side of the house and in through the patio doors? sorry all too difficult as there were some steps there as well. They took it away and I went and got my refund.
My feeling based on the very occasional trip is that the whole Currys/PC world group are heading for the rocks. Dixons have retreated to the internet and are just as bad. Wanted to buy a 40" Sharp TV before Christmas, shown as in stock. Me of little faith asked for confirmation it was available for immediate delivery - was it heck - we will email you when they come in. Don't bother. They would have happily taken my money and then told me to wait.0 -
I wouldn't mind PC World suing me but they'd probably screw that up as well!
Honestly this thread has given me the best laugh. I knew there were trolls on here but I didn't expect to find so many on one little sub-section nor did I expect to get PMs from people saying that the comments I'm getting are to be expected.
I appreciate that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and although I have my opinion of some of the posters here I have not felt the need to call anyone a prima-donna, drama queen or accuse them of having an attiude or an inflated feeling of self worth. I have simply stated that the customer service I received was somewhat lacking and in return have received very personal comments based on assumptions. Think what you want of me and I'll think what I want of you but if being rude and obnoxious to people floats your boat then the PMs I got weren't far off the mark!
On a last note, thank you to those who were kind enough to offer suggestions. If however you should find yourself gracing the doors of PC World or Currys then be warned ...... you shouldn't ask the staff any questions, you should only approach staff on wet March mornings and don't expect the staff to know anything as it's not their job to serve you. At last, I now know what customer service is all about and apparently what I've learnt over the years in customer facing roles has been a pile of tosh.0 -
People who go into a shop with attitudes like " I am giving them a second chance" deserve every bit they get.0

"Rude and obnoxious "
Exact description of OP's attitude to PC World and Curry's staff !0 -
With each post, the OP shows more of her "attitude " which no doubt influenced the behaviour of the staff at PC World AND cURRY'S.0

That's strange, the resellers I use will happily do a private sale often at a discount if I promise them the next couple of ordersIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -

It's not strange at all.
I worked for several major resellers for the best part of 10 years and none of them would have done this for you. "A couple of orders" isn't worth risking their reseller status for......not unless those couple of orders are for 10000+ pieces.
You either must have got very lucky or you're dealing with smaller ranked resellers that have the capability to do this. Many large ones don't."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Our reseller is a major company with major contracts with us and many other large organisations. They're not the type of company who do private sales and they don't need the promise of future orders as they are guaranteed them. No incentive = no favours0 -

They aren't particularly small, national presence but based locally to us, but not massive either.
I wouldn't call it very lucky just good customer service, which is the opposite of the point of the thread, it probably helps that I've been using them for over five years now as my first choice supplier
