  • Hi guys. Life is a bit manic at the minute. Mum is really sick and I having a right rough old time just now. My emotions are all over the place. I am in tears terrified to lose her then I am in tears and praying for a quick end for her as this illness is truly awful and my heart is broken watching how frail and poorly she is. It is a nightmare. She's a proud wee woman and becoming more dependant on us for everything. Her dignity has gone and she is so embarrassed. It's a shame. I dont want to say too much to family as I am scared if I tell them and then everything turns out okay ( hopefully) than I will look like a drama queen ( which I am so not) and then I am scared not to say anything incase things get much worse and I havent told people. Big dilemna but I am going to talk to the doctor again tomorrow and get some advice from her.

Money wise I am not really watching as I am too busy getting us from day to day as I am still working because I am afraid to take time off incase I need it later and weight wise , well just forget that as I am a massive comfort eater and I am comfort eating just now. I wish I was the type of person who stopped eating when they were stressed :rotfl:. I have no time for a catch up on anyone's diaries but just wanted to say hi xx

  • Hi guys. Thanks for the kind words. I am very lucky and have lots of fabulous friends. I think they have all had me crying this week either on phone or when I've seen them. Been teary in work and I get so embarrassed as I am the boss :o. Thankfully I get on well with everyone and they are all being great.

District nurses were in today and have ordered a special chair and a hospital bed for mum to have at home so this is scaring the sh*t out of me as they are obviously preparing themselves for much more of an input. They told my brother that the nurses need that as they can hurt themselves if the patient stays in a normal bed. Mum is quite horrified as she thinks it wont look nice :rotfl:. Tried to reassure her it will still be lovely and I'll dress it all nice for her. I thought she was going to open up and talk to me on the phone today ( as she is old school and these things are like the elephant in the room) but as soon as I asked her what was worrying her she changed the subject. Never mind, if thats what she wants to do then thats what we'll do. She says that no way is she taking to her bed either. She's a thrawn wee b*gger but again thats what we'll do if thats what she wants.

Been not too bad spends wise today and no real uneccesary spends other than sweets :o x

  • Just a quick check in. I've been at my mum's more or less since Friday morning. Just home to see kids and sleep. She was so sick but seems to have hopefully turned a wee corner today. Doc is coming out again tomorrow to re-assess her so I am not sure what will happen. I'm shattered physically and emotionally but as long as mum is ticking along nicely then I will cope. My brother has been staying overnight with mum so we have had to provide 24 hour care over the last few days. She cant even stand without support. So sad. Spends wise I haven't really been anywhere to spend anything but treatd kids and I to a chinese tonight as they have been fab and so patient with everything. I am so proud of the two of them.

    I'll catch up later xx

  • Amber you are so right it is mega stressful. Doc was out yesterday and told me that there is nothing more that can be done for my mum. Her disease has progressed to a stage where they can just make her comfortable. I am devastated. The worst thing is I have no idea when or how as she could have heart failure, thrombosis or her lungs could just give in. I am half hoping it is quick , for her sake, then I am hoping we get until after Christmas. But the bottom line is that I have absolutely no control over any of it and just need to go with the flow.

Moneysaving will still be in my mind but will not be paramount at the moment. I'll still check in now and again but as I have to go into mum's at dinner time and bed time then I will be rather busy. xx

  • Have any of you watched "The Secret" or read the book about manifesting positivity & health, wealth and happiness into your life?

My friend told me that she had tried to manifest pink feathers but had no luck! Next thing I knew I was finding pink feathers everywhere! Sounds Crackpot but it happened. I sent them to her then she did!!!!

Positive Mental thinking goes a long way!! One to ask for christmas!
