  • rest!! whats that?? :rotfl:Doesn't figure in my life. But arent I lucky to have such a full and fulfilling life. Some things happen to just make you realise that. Today my thing that happened was a wee lass threatening to kill herself if she didnt get money. Her life was so empty that if I didnt authorise a payment of £135 she was going to end her life . How very very sad is that? Anyway, she will still be okay tonight but sh*t.

My mum is home :D. My brother went and picked her up and I will go in tomorrow and sort her out. She is delighted to be home. She had been told earlier that she was getting kept in and she phoned me quite tearful as she was desperate to get out and home to her own comforts. Happily they let her go.

Maybe my spending will get back under control a bit now. I had my first proper meal in a week tonight and it was fab-u-lous. Corned beef hash with cheese on top. :D:D. I was annoyed though because when I went into my fridge I threw out a bag of salad, tomatoes, a box of grapes, and a bag of tangerines . What has happened to all my frugalness?? I would hardly throw out the ice from it when I defrost it :rotfl:and I have had to throw out FOOD . No more !! ;).

So tomorrow DD and I have 2 houses to clean so I got the £50 for that today. DD owed me £15 for her phone so I got that too. I will get what shopping I need with that and fill up the car just incase I am skint later in the month.

I feel happy tonight and content. I am very tired but again happy that this is because I have worked hard and been busy with my lovely family. My house is minging but hey ho I can clean it on Sunday ( if I want to) and in the meantime its not that bad that we will die or anything so I'm not too worried. So here's to the weekend and a couple days away from the madness xx

  • I'm doing the same Jelly Bean. Only minimums and the CC with Christmas shopping on it are being paid. Unfortunately as I said it probably means an additional month onto my debt but it's no biggie.
I have had 3 payments from EX of £78 so that is fab but I am just going to use it immediately to pay off debts, Christmas ones just now, and after Christmas then I will pay it off of my normal debts. Unless I have an emergency then it will never be used as normal income as with his history he will stop at the drop of a hat.

DD and I were chatting last night and she has told me that she wants to be an architect. This was what she used to want to be and then changed he rmind and wanted to be an interior designer. She has since realised that you need to be very lucky in the world of design to make it good so is back to wanting to be an architect. I am absolutely delighted as at the end of this academic year she will potentially have 4 A highers, 1 A advanced higher, 3 B Highers and 1 C level. Total waste of her brain going for an HND in design so I am well pleased that she has changed her mind and I reckon being nice and quiet about it and leaving her to find her own way has paid off big time :)

  • Hi folks. Happy Sunday. I actually appear to have a couple of hours to relax :eek:. Been a loooooooong time. House is clean, washing is done and I'll iron tonight whilst watching telly. I'm going to read my motivational book and give myself a boost. I went a couple of years ago to see Jack Black ( not the actor) speak and he motivated me into positivity big time, so I have hunted out his book and I am going to read through it again and sort my head out. I am beginning to lose my way a wee bit with money. This is mainly because I am not quite so short of it at the minute and my purse strings are loosening. I dont want to do this as I really need to use the extra money and do the things I want to do. First priority being pay off the debt :D. So I am going to read Jack and get started in earnest again. Not really apying off the debt per se but making sure that CC I am using for Christmas is empty again by the new year. It has a few hundred on it already . I also added £300 to it yesterday by buying vouchers for Argos to get the kids' main gifts for Christmas. I get a discount through my work so I got £300 of vouchers for £279 and I also have £10 in vouchers so my £300 spend will be £269 :j. Not too bad at all.

My part time job looks as if it has tailed off now until next year. I'm quite happy to be honest as it really steals a chunk out of my weekend. Between doing that and seeing to my mum I never ever get any time to myself on a Saturday so it will be nice to change that.

So I hope you are all well and I am away to chell and read and make myself all positive again :rotfl:

  • thanks mrshep and welcome. The more the merrier. I know I've done well but I want to do better :rotfl:Never happy me. It's very nice to know I am inspiring someone.

What an emotional day I have had today. I got a call this morning at 7.30 from my mum as she was stuck in her bed and couldn't get up. I was just out of the shower and got dressed and went in to get her up. She was a sorry wee soul. I got her sorted out and went to work. Started crying in my car on way up and havent stopped all day practically. We have had an awful weekend with her and I have had to get the doc out and also the district nurses. Called her GP today and let her know all the issues we have had over the weekend and told her I needed to know what I was dealing with. If my mum is about to die then I want to take some time off and look after her myself. Thankfully doc seems to think that another dose of antibiotics will make her feel a bit better but will see her again next week and re-evaluate then. Feeling very sad as I am convinced that she will not be here much longer. She just has no fight left in her and is so weak that she can hardly get about now. I wish I could have her here to live with me but it just cant be done. She would probably drive me nuts within days anyway lol as she yaps constantly. Np wonder she is knackered all the time.

Anyway, onto money matters. No child support so far this week. I have ordered my new car insurance. Got it for £1100 for myself and DD. I would have been £210 just for me  so quite a hike. DD will pay £50 per month towards it and has already given me £100 that her Gram gave her. £218 went onto CC tonight and rest will be DD over the year. My cc is getting way too high now . I need to get my butt in gear and pay it off. I paid £47.50 tonight from it as that was my westlife ticket that my mum is paying for me for my Christmas :D. No other spare cash at the minute though . Never mind. At least I have enough to keep us going, many people do not.

I reckon I need to read more of my book tonight as my positivity is not quite back yet :p.

I hope you are all well and in a good fram of mind and Jelly bean get a good motivational book and get reading :D

  • Hi MIT,

Great diary. Sorry to hear your mum is not keeping great.
Pay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,000
  • Aww Mit me love, what a mixed bag of stuff. All the positivity you can muster is needed right now with the pressure of your mum being ill and you being her main support. Add to that the pressure of Christmas, and the pressure you are putting on yourself to be Daughter, Mother, Worker, Boss, Shopper etc, and you are really under the cosh.

Get a lovely hot bubble bath and read that book, use your time to get your house as a haven for you instead of just somewhere to sleep and make sure you are ok.

As for the debts, you are on the right track.

Write your Christmas budgets and remember to have some fun. The debts can be tackled anew in the new year.

    ((hug))
    Trying to shift that debt!
