Wow...you've been busy over the last week...sounds like your holiday was a resounding success!
I'm with you on the whole Christmas thing and have started putting money to one side each month in readiness. I think making up hampers is a lovely idea...might have a go at doing that this year too.LBM Aug '07 Debt [STRIKE]£52,615[/STRIKE] DEBT FREE Aug '12 :jCap One CC £[STRIKE]5000[/STRIKE]/£0 - HSBC CC £[STRIKE]7500[/STRIKE]/£0 - HSBC Loan £[STRIKE]12,225[/STRIKE]/£0M&S CC £[STRIKE]11,500[/STRIKE]/£0 - Egg CC £[STRIKE]8750[/STRIKE]/£0 - Sains CC £[STRIKE]3000[/STRIKE]/£0HMRC £[STRIKE]3140[/STRIKE]/£0 - OD £[STRIKE]1500[/STRIKE]/£0Pay off ALL your debt by Xmas 2012 £14,128/£14,128 :j0 -
good evening. Just spent ages catching up with everyone else's diaries and realised I have not updated my own
. I was at a christening today with DS and my mum. It was a really nice day. Fab buffet and we ate our full at it and I only had 1 juice which my mum bought so no money spent.
I went to Asda with my mum and bought a wee outfit for a friend's new granddaughter and some batteries. We then went to Morrisons and I bought some eggs (15 free range for £2) and some sweets for kids and a bag for me as I am going back to slimming club this week so wanted a last wee treat before starting. Spent £14.99 in total.
Whilst driving there and back I noticed my battery light was coming on intermittently and I just thought oh sh*t that'll be the alternator away then. I was feeling really carp about it as I have just paid my final payment on car this month. My neighbour is a retired mechanic and he looked at it for me. Looks like it was lack of oil. There is no oil light on my dashboard so he reckons my battery light lights up when oil is low. He has filled it up for me and fingers crossed that is all it is. I could mentally see my £120 in my savings account being spent on the car rather than the overdraft and I was gutted. Really really hope that the oil top up will do the trick.
I am still shattered today. I feel as if my glands are swollen, my chest is achy and my ears are sore so I reckon I might have a wee infection running through me and that's why I am so tired. I'll see how I go over next couple of days and go to docs if it gets worse. Housework, washing and ironing are piling up and I am back at work tomorrow . I can see that far enough for sure. Never mind I should be thankful I have a job.
Ok bit of a negative post today so I promise form tomorrow I will be positive only5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Take care of you. Your holiday sounded fab but so busy. The washing will get done a load at a time, and you know, work is pants but a means to an end. Get vitamin c in you to fight it off. XxTrying to shift that debt!0

Thanks SBO. Went back to work today and it was okay. Funny how it is never quite as bad as you remember it to be
. Was incredibly busy but had gone in saying to myself, one job at a time. That's what I have done all day. My job can be very reactive which means sometimes I start things and then can't finish them but I am determined that I am going to be ultra organised. I got a nice letter from my boss with a wee £50 bonus that will be in my wage at end of month for going above and beyond the scope of my post
.
Terrible thing happened this afternoon though as one of my staff had to leave as his mum had been found dead. We were all thrown into a spin and didn't know what to do. Said to him to call me later but not heard from him. I am in shock.
DS had to get a haircut today for going back to school and a couple of other spends but not too bad. Thank god he is going back to school as I can't keep him going in food and juice  he is just a human bin at the minute. He is growing at such a rate that he is needing constant food top ups :rotfl:. Costing me a bleeding fortune. I might actually manage the grocery challenge next month. DD is gutted as she needs a filling. Not bad though getting to 17 and a half and nothing ever been done.
Going to join the slimming club again tomorrow as I just can't be disciplined enough to do it myself. Also going to pics with friends tomorrow night to see Bridesmaids. Cheaper on a Tuesday night so it's MSE :money:. I hope everyone is well xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Very sad news about that chaps mum what an awful shock, just as well we don't know what's round the corner0 -
Mine go back on Thursday
. I will have food and a tidy house :rotfl:. Well tidier if not quite tidy. I got in at 8pm tonight after being out sine 8.15am and the dishes are all still lying in the kitchen. Well they are still lying there and DS can get bl**dy well on with them tomorrow or never mind the London riots there will be a riot in my house

Glad you're feeling better today.....and yay for the £50 bonus!!
My sons stomachs were bottomless pits too.....I used to keep my cupboards full of value bread and baked beans for them to snack on...they could eat a tin of beans on four slices of toast an hour before dinner without spoiling their appetites....and they were always as skinny as beanpoles!!!LBM Aug '07 Debt [STRIKE]£52,615[/STRIKE] DEBT FREE Aug '12 :jCap One CC £[STRIKE]5000[/STRIKE]/£0 - HSBC CC £[STRIKE]7500[/STRIKE]/£0 - HSBC Loan £[STRIKE]12,225[/STRIKE]/£0M&S CC £[STRIKE]11,500[/STRIKE]/£0 - Egg CC £[STRIKE]8750[/STRIKE]/£0 - Sains CC £[STRIKE]3000[/STRIKE]/£0HMRC £[STRIKE]3140[/STRIKE]/£0 - OD £[STRIKE]1500[/STRIKE]/£0Pay off ALL your debt by Xmas 2012 £14,128/£14,128 :j0 -

May he is such a gannet. He eats non stop. Just been down and had a huge bowl of cereal. Of course the cereal tub is lying on kitchen counter, the milk is spilt all over said counter and the bowl will be left on his bedroom floor :rotfl:. He will be getting the good news before he goes to bed tonight and I will be warning him to refill my cupboards with all the dishes from said bedroom floor as well :rotfl:. I am not going to be a popular mother tonight but hey ho I'm not looking for fans
