My daughter asked me today if I was on drugs :rotfl:. This was because I was flying around our cleaning job so we could get it finished quickly. We normally do specific jobs each and I was finished mine and helping her. Must say the sweat was lashing off of me but we finished in record time
. Nice wee £50 in my pocket. Was going to use it for the holidays but my wee mum said to me today that she had shoved a wee bit spending money into my account. £200 . She paid for the holiday too. I feel so guilty sometimes taking money from her but I know she gets lots of pleasure from it. She says she would rather see us enjoy her money whilst she is here than leave it to us when she dies. Bless her.
She was in a right old state today by the time I went in. Her chair had broken. She had soaked her trousers with stuff and she was sitting in a puddle. I got her changed and cleaned up and into her nightdress. When I think of what a firecracker my mum was when she was young it is heartbreaking for her. I just thank god that so far I have not inherited any of her illnesses and I pray that I don't. She's only 68 and looks at least 80. So back to the £50 earnings from today. I am going to transfer it into my savings account to start getting the money together to pay off my £550 overdraft which is my next target.
I am going to start getting some stuff packed tonight and try and be organised for once in my life.
I spent a fair bit today but all pretty much essential. Bra for me and swimming cossie( got that for £5) Bag for DD for school, Joggers and t-shirt for DS for school and loads of packs of sweets from poundland for holiday treats. We always like a big bowl on the table when we are away so we can have a munch. I haven't counted it in my shopping budget as it is for hols except for £1 for the box of maltesers I have just inhaled :rotfl::o.

Your mum sounds just lovely and thank goodness you haven't inherited her illnesses but you have obviously inherited her lovely qualities and nature and they sure do shine through on your diary
Yeah to getting rid of the overdraft soon and for a £5 swimming costume
Completely get the maltesers, I think I have eaten everything naughty thing in the house today and feel like a complete fat pig!
Good luck with the packing - always the fun part :rotfl:0 -
Oh well no packing done. Quelle surprise!! Not actually my fault. I was contemplating it when my door knocked and my lovely friend, her daughter and her grandson were at my door. They were through from Peebles for the day and I was so pleased to see them :j. Had a lovely blether with them and it was great to see the wee man. Because we are on opposite sides of the country we hardly ever see each other though we talk on the phone all the time so I am happy.
Nonnie my mum is very kind but she is also very demanding. She likes things done a certain way and lets everyone know when it doesn't please her. Truth be told I drive her nuts. She loves me to bits obviously but I am way too laid back for her liking. I am very much Manana, everything is manana, whereas she wants everything done yesterday. She says I am so laid back I'm horizontal. I'm not really but in comparison to her I suppose I am.She gets her knickers in a twist if the washing isn't hung out in a certain order. The pegs need to match as well . Now that she can't see how I hang it out I am a total rebel and mis match the pegs and hang things up out of sequence :rotfl:. She would have a fit if she saw as she judges people on whether they hang out a 'nice wash' or not. I can't keep my face straight sometimes at the things she says. Last week wehn she was in hospital she complained because her dinner was all the same colour . I mean WHAT !! She's always been the same though and won't change now, and I'm glad she is the same as I get an absolute hoot at some of the things she comes away with.
I'm watching Miranda on catch up. I watched the series on BBC2 when it was on and am watching it again as I swear it is the funniest thing ever. If you haven't seen it then I advise a quick look see. I laugh out loud at it.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Good morning. Well I have just spent an hour on here catching up and I really should be getting my a$$ into gear. I have a family dinner at my mum's today. My aunt, my brother and his family and all of us are going. We always have a nice time and it makes mum happy to have us all there with her. My aunts husband died a couple of weeks ago so I am glad she is joining us as well. I have decided not to iron everything I want to ake with us, I'm just going to take the iron along with us
. That means less stress for me trying to pack and means I won't get peed off when everything comes out of the holdall looking like a bag of rags. I have about 4 hours left to get on with it prior to going out for dinner so I better get off here and get started.
Hopefully I will have a NSD today but I'll report back later. Have a nice day everyone xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Home
. I love going away but love coming home too. I'm a right wee home bird.
We have had a great few days. Spent everything I had. Managed to buy DS trainers and a bag for school. I got a shirt and ear- rings. We ate take away or ate out all week except breakfast and I loved the relaxation of it all. The caravan was smashing. The site was a typical resort caravan park. It was clean and well run and that was all I was looking for.Kids had a blast and I loved seeing them having fun with plenty of cash in their pockets for a change. The only thing that made me baulk was spending £72 last night on a meal in TGI Fridays . Now that was no alcohol or anything just 3 mains and 2 puddings:eek:. I kept thinking ' Jeez I could have fed us well for a week for that amount' :rotfl:Never mind, the kids loved it, I didn't so much as not my type of food, so it was nice to be able to treat them for a change.
The fringe in Edinburgh was fantastic. The whole place was buzzing. We saw street artists doing fire eating, sword swallowing, unicyclists, human statues and the list goes on. My ds was awe inspired by it all. DD was being all cool and just shrugging if I asked if she was enjoying herself . We went to the dungeons in Edinburgh and I was scared witless :rotfl:. Well worth the money and we had money off vouchers so paid about half of what we normally would have. Went to Edinburgh castle and only had to pay for 1 adult as I sneaked me and all the kids in on my friend's card
. All in all a lovely time was had by all. My friend and her daughter came through yesterday to join us and stayed over so that was a great end to the week
. I'm totally exhausted mind you
.
Back to reality today. Need to go and buy some food as the shelves are pretty bare in here. I realised I had £180 in bank and £65 in stamps for Morrisons so I have paid £70 off of my overdraft. That's £120 in total. I want that and tesco cleared by end of year. Snowball says January but if I manage the £500 to tesco on my 100 challenge then I will get it back to December and manage to clear it. Wish me luck and I hope everyone is well xx

Hi. A no spend day today
. Pretty much because I have slept on the couch most of the afternoon
. I was totally shattered. Did my cleaning job this morning so will get £30 for that. I will pay that off of Tesco card as that challenge starts on Monday. It's for 100 days so I need to pay off an average of £5 per day to manage it. I will actually pay £35 so that week 1 is covered and I will do my damndest to manage that or more each week. I want to get it done ASAP so I can make a start on Christmas . Now that is where I lose the plot every year so I am really really going to try and not do any credit this year. I will start off buying the smaller gifts I need to get and then see nearer the time what the kids and my mum want. I might do the hamper gift packs again this year as they went down a storm in the past. You can make them look fabulous and they cost as much or as little as you want them to. Need to start thinking about it soon and see what I will do.
Been looking at my birthday book too to see what I have between now and end of year. I have another 6 people that I buy gifts for but one is my son which is usually an expensive one . The other 5 gifts I caqn probably cover with £60 or so but DS always gets a gift for about £50 and a day out of his choice which ends up costing between £50- £75. I put more emphasis on the fun of birthdays that the gifts. Christmas is the time for lots of presents in our house. So lots of thought is put into what we will do on the birthday. DS is December and he has already started making plans. Looks like it'll be laser tagging this year with a couple of his friends. Oh Joy !!
I need to be ultra organised so I do not end up using credit so I am going to list what I need to buy and start from there. Sorry folks I know it's only August but I only have 4 wages before Christmas comes :eek::eek:.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
