A seperate budget for holiday treats sounds like a good idea.
My washing is outside too - I love it when it just smells of fresh air.
Hope your mum is better and home very soon.

Hi M.I.T., just caught up with your pages, good news about DD passin exam, glad to hear mum is on the mend, my dad is 78 and keeps going on long walks if it is'nt over 7 miles then he is'nt interested, worry that one day i will receive a phone call that he has done to much but can understand why he does it. Only had DS home for one week and already the weekly food bill is well over what i usually spend, think this week i will leave him in bed and go shopping by myself.

Struggling big time with my food budget also, just got to start starving the weans me thinks ;)

It's your last week at work isn't it? It'll be over before you know it, have a good one :)
  • Finish again on Friday Nonnie so can't wait.
Amber it is truly a nightmare what they can get through food wise. Especially when I go out to work and come home and nearly have a canary when I see what they have consumed. I do mean 'see' by the way as the remnants are more often than not still lying all over the worksurfaces or floor :p.
Hovel lady. I love fresh air washing, especially when it is sheets and they are fresh on my bed. If I ever get rich then I would have clean sheets every day, and a downstairs loo :rotfl:.

I hope you are all having a nice Sunday. I am just away to do some ironing now :(

Our sheets are just finishing drying on the line. Like you I love bedding that smells of fresh air.
I too dream of a downstairs loo :rotfl:
Ironing? What's that? I think I last did some in 1997 (and no, I'm not joking :D)

  • Don't you sometimes just feel like shouting 'keys' I give up !!

Got my bloody tax credits assessment. Overpaid allegedly by £127 so for next 12 weeks I am £25 down as my assessment is a fiver less per week anyway. I can hardly manage just now never mind £25 less per week. !!!!!!. Not motivating me .

I did get some good news mind you. I got a bonus of £50, which I will get next month, for excellent customer service :D above and beyond the call of duty and also got my yearly bonus which after strike day comes off comes to £300 :D. I will pay off the Argos for strimmer and lawnmower which is £130 and use the rest for our holidays. I have a bit of slack in my normal wage which will pay off my challenge. Juggle, Juggle Juggle :rotfl:. I still have DS's uniform to buy  but will start that this week. I should hopefully get some maintenance through soon as nearly a month since I had any. If I get a few weeks of that at once then I can hopefully cover the majority of the uniform costs.

I actually bought myself some things today . Was putting on knickers on Saturday and couldn't find any without holes :rotfl:so 10 new pairs of pants in a smaller size. A pair of cut off trousers and a nice top. I can wear this on Saturday night. One of my team is leaving and this is his leaving night but we have a massive folk festival here this weekend so we are going to that. I go every year and it is amazing so I am really looking forward to that. Trousers etc will do me for hols as well as I hardly have any summer stuff. Been ages since I bought myself anything and it felt brillinat doing it.

My mum is hopefully getting home from hospital on Wednesday so fingers crossed for that. I hope everyone is well.

  • :jmum got home tonight and she is very happy about it. I am still concerned about her but hospital reckoned she was well enough to come home and it is much better for infection control for her to be home. She was saying that when she used the commode no-one even offered her wipes for her hands so obviously cleanliness is not paramount . Anyway she's home now so we'll see how it goes.

3 more days to work then I'm off for 2 weeks. I can't wait :D.

I spent quite a lot of money today. One of my boys was leaving so we all went for lunch so that was £9.50. DS went swimming so that was another fiver and took chocs in for the nurses when mum left the hospital. I also bought DS a chippy for dinner as I didn't get home from work until after 8 . Again!! and just didn't have the energy to cook tonight. Hopefully life will get back to normal now.

Heading to bed soon and recharge the batteries :D

  • hi folks. OMG My dd has booked her driving test . She's my baby , how did this happen?? When did she get old enough for these things? I'm old :rotfl:. Fact.

My mum has paid it for her and transferred £100 into my account and told me to sue the £38 change for some of DS's uniform :D. I got £100 into my account from CSA as well :D and I get paid on Friday. Will do some work on my accounts tonight and update signature etc. I am going to pay the £100 from CSA to Tesco as that was what I had said I would do during my challenge. I will finish the challenge on payday and I am really really pleased that I will manage my first challenge :rotfl:. I have paid over £500 extra to tesco in 100 days :money:. The next 100 day challenge I will try and get rid of my £550 overdraft. I will stick the money in my savings account until I have the whole amount and then clear it. As I said before I will treat it as emergency money but the thought of the £10 a month charge they make me pay will hopefully stop me ever using it.

I have had such a mental week that we have had 2 carry out dinners and I have been out for lunch twice. i'VE PROBABLY SPENT ABOUT £40 on eating out this week that I could have avoided so back to basics for me. Hope everyone is well x
