  • Binnie, I would get my eyes tested if I was you. I'm the opposite to you and can't see close up but can see fabulously distance wise. Very annoying considering I had amazing sight until I was about 40 .

Nonnie, you poor thing you must be knackered. Kids are just exhausting.

Forgot to tell you about DS today :eek:He phoned me at lunch time coughing and spluttering down the phone. I asked him what was wrong and he said house was full of smoke and he could hardly breath. Considering I was 20 miles away I stayed extremely calm and asked him if there were flames as I could hear the fire alarm going off in the background. He said no but that it was too dangerous to go down stairs. You can imagine the thoughts running through my head by now and I was on my feet ready to bolt if required. I still stayed very calm and eventually talked him into going down stairs and opening the doors to let the smoke out. I then called my neighbour to go and check on him as he was coughing his lungs up. Neighbour called me right back to tell me all was okay and that he had burnt his toast :rotfl: What a little sh*t. He will be the death of me but he is a source of much hilarity in my office :rotfl: House stinks of smoke still despite being aired most of the day and I also burnt a fragranced candle for over an hour tonight.

They dont tell u about things like these, before you become pregnant, the stress these little darlings put us thro, save it up with all the other little adventures and when you have grandkids you can tell them whilst DS sits and cringes [payback time]:o .At least he rang you and did'nt try to hide it, you could be sat there now thinking "has somebody burnt the toast" ;) .

Oh bless him, that made me chuckle - although not funny at the time!! Well done for being so calm, not sure I would've managed that, I'm sure he's learned his lesson - well hopefully :)

  • Hi folks. I can still smell burnt toast  and even the toaster is in the bin :rotfl:.
DS is going away tomorrow for 3 days sailing and watersports so he will have fun and I may be able to enter his room and [STRIKE]scrape[/STRIKE]tidy the stuff from his floor. He went paintballing today and left the front door open. Hey ho I'm sure the insurance would have paid out ................NOT!! Luckily DD was home soon after so she sorted that out.

I cannot begin to tell you how shattered I am tonight. I went out of the house this morning at 7.50 and got home at 9.45 . I'm exhausted and heading off to bed in a minute. Was at my aunts tonight, which is why I am so late, for a rosary. My uncle is home and it was really sad. We are a very close knit family and I was watching my other aunts and my uncle and my mum and thinking they will probably all pop off now one after the other. We had a few laughs and a few tears but we are lucky enough that because we have such a close family we have hundreds and hundreds of fabulous memories. One of my cousins said his death was the same as he lived his life, unassuming and dignified ( except when he had a few pints and thought he was John Travolta on the dance floor :rotfl:)There was no big drama and he just went quietly. He was the kind of man who you knew was there but he never pushed himself into the lime light. Lovely man and he will be missed hugely. I got a wee chat with him tonight and said my goodbyes so just the funeral to go :(. Will need to watch my aunt carefully afterwards though as she will be lost without him. Sorry probably depressing everyone.

Only spend today was £25 in petrol. Didn't even half fill my tank . I've spent £95 this month so far on petrol and I will probably spend another few pounds before the end of the month .
Tired and grumpy so heading off to sleep. Hope everyone is well xx

Isn't it lovely to have such good memories and to be able to share them with family and have a laugh and a cry together, I'm sure it was especially good comfort for your aunt and I bet your uncle was loving being in the middle of it all!

Sorry about the petrol, I'm sure you'll be back on track soon, hope everything goes well tomorrow and good luck with ds's bedroom - get the rubber gloves on :D
  • We may be beyonde rubber gloves Nonnie, I may need a flame thrower:rotfl:. He has been wind surfing today, couldn't do it, and had a great time in the water down at Largs. Said he has a lovely room he is sharing with his mate and they have an en-suite. I hate to think what it'll be like by the end of the week. One thing for sure is that the shower will be clean as he won't use it :rotfl:.

Spent a bit today unfortunately as it has been frantic yet again and I have had to eat and run. Bought DS some sweets and juice this morning and a roll for me and bought DD and I a chinese between us for dinner. Went to slimming club and stayed the same this week so was a bit disappointed with that as I have not broken the diet at all. Never mind I did lose 7.5 last week so maybe get a lb or 2 next week.

I hope everyone is well xx

  • Hi folks. Well that's the funeral all over. Why can't folks sing happy hymns at funerals? I wouldn't cry if it was happy hymns :rotfl:. Anyway, all done now and we can get back to normal.

6 of my items on e-bay are selling already so I am well chuffed. Only £6 odds so far but they don't end until Sunday so I am sure there will be a wee bit more by then :D. Even if I make £20 profit I will be happy enough. It'll go into the holiday fund or buy me a bathing cossie that covers my bits properly :D.

Been eating a bit too much today so I will have to chuck it or I'll end up putting weight on next week and that is just not on. I am definitely a comfort eater and know this so I should watch what I am doing. Haven't seen a few of my cousins for a while and they were all commenting on how much weight I had lost. Now that is a real morale booster. Also the trouser suit I put on today I couldn't get over my hips not that long ago and today it was really comfortable and looked nice and tidy as well.

No spend so far today so I will try and keep it that way. I'm not buying any shopping until after I have been to Westlife on SATURDAY AND SEE WHAT CASH i HAVE LEFT. iT MIGHT END UP A POOR WEEK IN THE KITCHEN :rotfl:Sorry about caps on.

DD is sitting her theory test at 6pm today. Ex oh is taking her up and back so that'll save me on petrol. I feel quite nervous for her but hopefully she will pass first time.

    Catch you later xx

Glad the funeral went well, and what a boost for you for people to mention how good you were looking!

Dead jealous that you are seeing westlife - bet you will have a ball, are you going with DD?

Hope she passes her theory, it seems so expensive to learn to drive these days and I don't think I would pass now anyway - probably too many bad habits oops :p
  • :D:j she passed:j. I'm all proud of her. I'll soon have a chauffeur :D. I wouldn't pass either Nonnie. She was asking me questions whilst she was sitting a mock one and I had no clue :rotfl:. But well done her she's only 17 :D.

I'm going to Westlife with friends. There's a spare ticket come join us :p. We're going to go to Glasgow first ( big day out for us you see) and window shop, then probs for food and a few drinks then head over to Hamilton Park. I'm really looking forward to it as it's ages since I have been out with the 'girls'. I've been to see Westlife about 7 times before and although cheesy you are guaranteed a good night and a good wee sing-a-long. DD is watching DS for me so all is well.

DS called tonight as he reckoned someone had stolen his blackberry and he was very subdued as he reckoned I was going to kill him ( never touch him lol so dunno where he got that from) but thankfully it turns out he had left it under his pillow and had forgotten Duh!! I despair with that boy. I really hope whatever woman that gets him has lots of patience and lots of common sense as he has none.

Going to chill tonight as I am shattered. This week has made my heart sore. Seeing some people's reactions to my mum today and how poorly she is has made me think. I know the inevitable will come but this week I've been watching my cousins and they were spending money hand over fist paying for drinks, buying in food, buying funeral outfits etc and I was thinking sh*t when this happens to my mum I won't have any money to do that so as I said I have been thinking ;). I am going to pay off my overdraft, which is what the snowball wants me to do anyway, as it costs me £10 charges per month for a £550 overdraft and I will leave it sitting there. I will not be tempted to use it but it always means I will have that cushion in an emergency. I'll save the £550 in my savings account then transfer it over to make that account in the balance and no more charges :D.

Did I mention I was chuffed with my daughter ?? :rotfl:
