I know KP. Good times lol. Makes a change form it going up.
Not such a great moneysaving day today. Not that organised for lunches this week. WOuld be okay if I wanted to diet but I really really am not in the mood just now. I bought rolls, meat and butter this morning. I then bought a twirl at lunch and spent £4.75 in chippy on way home tonight. Also £6 on kids lunches. THis is where the spending diary comes into its own. When I see > £15 spent in a day on food that is empty food ( no meals etc) and I have a budget of £350 for the month then I get really annoyed at myself for the waste. I could feed us for a couple of days on that if needs be. Never mind. DOne now:o. Will just need to keep reeling this in. The problem I have is that I go in to my mums to make her dinner every second night and unless I am super organised i.e. dinner ready just to heat up, then I can easily slip into buying a takeaway as I cannot be bothered with cooking 2 meals and tbh I am knackered.
SO the mince I had out for tonight will do for lasagne for tomorrow night. Hope you are all doing better than me. Unfortunately I am human :rotfl:

Im the same with meals MIT! Only really changed my ways this week (apart from chinese lastnight cos I was too ill to cook) but I've set myself the challenge of not buying anymore food until the cupboards, fridge + freezer. I made a weeks worth of meal planning and it's worked so far - until my HM asked for money for lunch at work! I told her off and told her I would make a lunch for her lol. I know its hard cos I really struggle and end up craving food we dont even have in the house but then when I sat down and worked out that to date we have saved £70 then Im more than impressed hehe
That will change tomorrow cos I need to get some cereal bars for the gym, nothing worse than walking out of the gym really hungry at breakfast time, walking past the canteen smelling fresh chips!!Life is what you make it.0 -
Errrr well I was doing ok then I got home last night and had chinese. Good news is I can claim most of the cost back but this mornign feeling stressed so just finished off two chocolate bars
. Oh well one bad day will be better at the weekend.

hi folks. THank god for FRidays. What a day I had today!! Sometimes working with Joe public is very trying:mad:. BUt then again sometimes working with my colleagues is very trying too . Anyway not going to moan.
NSD other that £6 lunches for kids. Pleased with that:D. I have £35 in bank and £15 in my purse for this week. Don't need much shopping so will buy minimums and try keep some money for next weeks lunches. I won't have any left mind you to pay to debts. Looked at snowball earlier and actually need £110.01 to pay off the amount I want to this month. No maintenance through as yet so that's not so good. Good news is that my mum is insisting on paying my car tax for me as my brother is getting her DLA tax disc. We run her about all the time and run around after her so I don't feel too guilty about it
and OMG it helps me out loads. I need to call CSA again and ask them what the h*ll is going on. If I get the money through that I know is there then I should manage to meet the target this month. If not then I have a hill to climb and I DO NOT want to fail on month1. Not getting too annoyed yet but will be if I can't do it.
Just reading your posts re eating :rotfl:what are we like ? I reckon I am going to concentrate on money saving for a month or so cos if I take on too many things to do I will just fail on everything. Hope everyone is well xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

oh dear bad day at work? Im dreading going back to call centres - I start in 2 weeks! I just know Im going to get earache from Joe Bloggs 8 hours everyday - ah well, have to keep reminding myself of the money!
Hope you meet your target this month - dont know if its of interest but ebay are doing free listings this weekend so Im devoting my weekend to that and hopefully get a good few pounds in the bank without the dreaded listing fees spoiling the fun!Life is what you make it.0 -
Hi MIT
Hope you can find that £100 but don't feel too bad if you don't. You sound like you've got a lot on your plate.
I have learnt to be gentle on myself - I know I cannot be completely frugal, only semi-frugalas otherwise I get too stressed.
I have managedto break my wine glasses all by myself - no children involvedjust a tile floor  I got some really cool steel ( I think) ones in the charity shop a while ago, and I love them (and they're non-breakable;)
Have you heard of the Blood Type/Genotype diet? They can help you lose weight by finding out what foods (and types of exercise) suit you best. I am by no means 100% on the diet but have managed to go down a dress size and keep it off for 2 years. It's a diet with a difference, not a quick fix.
Also you could be onto something, carrying excess weight ( and I still do, I am never going to be a stick insect:rotfl:) can have emotional issues attached to it. There are ways of trying to deal with that too. Have you heard of EFT (emotional freedom technique?) there's other ones too that can help with that side of things.

Hi weeclick. Yes working with Joe Public is a joy lol. It makes me wonder why people think it is okay to speak the way they do to agents on phones. It's shocking. Are people unaware that there are laws surrounding how a phone call is conducted? Anyways I only have 1 week to go on that job and then back to what I used to do
. Same place, same money lol but looking forward to it all the same.
Elaine. Welcome  . I haven't heard of those things but I will have a wee look and see. I am a big believer in all these things being connected. A lot of posts you read are by people who either overeat, smoke, gamble or drink too much. Lots of people appear to be dealing with more than 1 demon.
Weeclick thanks for the heads up re e-bay. I have a few things to go on there so I will get onto that tomorrow and see if I can make inroads to that £110 I need to pay. I forgot DD owed me money for her phone bill so she gave me that today. ONly £8.50 but will cover a day and a half's lunches.
Taking my mum shopping today. Oh joy ! She is a nightmare lol. Sits in her wheelchair and points in the general direction of where she wants to go. I said her wee pointy finger is like ET and my bro said ' aye , all she needs is for it to light up' :rotfl:. God love her. SHe used to be such a whirlwind and is now totally reliant on others. SHe hasnt even been able to make herself a cup of tea for the last 16 months. It's a tragic shame. Makes her bl**dy cranky too but I am easy going and most times can shrug it off.
Snow here again today. Not too bad compared to last time. At least we can get out and trains are still running so DD is happily away to pics. Ok am away for brekkie. Going to have eggs on toast. Eggs have no date on them so wish me luck :rotfl:

Remember my moaning last week re having to buy DS trousers for school? Well!! He came home yesterday with a huge tear down them. He was really worried that I would go tonto and made up some story about someone kicking him blah blah. When I said he was talking rubbish he just said he couldnt remember what had happened. ON closer inspection it is the seam that has burst and then frayed. THere is about a 6 inch hole in them . THe stitching got so close to the edge that the slightest tug would pull them apart. Now normally I would have binned them and just not bought from that shop again BUT the new me is setting off to take them back. I want another pair or my money back.
